Slipping into the lair's library, the dragoness took time to study the many shelves. Each were lined with numberous books. Books for the little ones, her books on plants, magic books, even some of the books she once had when she had gone to school at Ravenheart.
There were so many to choose from, along with the assortment of findings she had added. Stones and crystals rested upon other shelves, and she nudged a book down from it's perch.
The book on flowers, it was one of her favorites.
Settling the book upon one of the rugs, she got up and slid out, for just a moment. Down the hallway that led to their chamber, she peeked in to find her mate napping.
Love? She watched Aurthur as he rested, smiling a bit.
It was so peaceful there, just what the pair needed, but she was eager to explore.
There were pathways that she still did not fully know. Along with the familiar ones. Paths that led to Alexandria, where her baby brother had taken up rule.
She had not seen him since the day they had flown her father's corpse to the lair for burial in the small family graveyard, beneath the twin oaks.
Perhaps she could visit him, or Ring Valley, it had been so long since she had been there. The flocks of course could probably use a pick through.
The shepards there knew her well enough to know she would not take a healthy ewe, when there were sick and injured ewes and rams.
Aurthur though had taken up raising a few flocks, so they wouldn't have to fly so far.
Then there were the ruins.., they had not fully explored them yet, still, she was supposed to remain close to the lair.
The most used pathway though led to the Inn, She had promised not to go much further then that.
Wings rustled as she leaned down to steal a kiss from her napping mate, before sliding back into the library.
The guards she knew would never let her go off exploring on her own, so she'd have to settle for exploring through her books.
