Home was hard on the little dragoness. Yet she would stay. Not for herself, but for her little ones. Their little ones.
She couldn't stay in her room, there were too many memories to be drudged up there. Instead she would curl up within one of the guest rooms. half burying herself in the blanket there.
Come the morning she would try to return to some semblance of normal. Tonight though, she would fall into a dreamless sleep. She had made sure the little ones had been fed, avoiding questions that asked where their father was.
Maybe someday she would tell them, but not now, not tonight. She could not hurt their children, she would protect them from the pain she hid away.
