Hoth System...
The heavily modified Venator Class Star Destroyer, Black Tears, was in orbit of the planet Jhas. Three EF76 Nebulon-B Frigates flanked the Venator, while dozens of upgraded Munificent class Frigates and CR90 Corvettes were spread out more so to cover best of not only the Venator class Star Destroyer, but that of her main escorts, the Nebulon-B Frigates.
A coded transmission had been received to meet with a New Republic Admiral upon the Hoth System. They had been waiting, for nearly twenty-seven hours.
Exiting hyperspace came three Mon Calamari MC80 Star Cruisers, along with multiple escort ships of their own.
"This is Admiral Gilduss, of the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser 'Serenity' to The Black Tears. Respond."
Munificent frigates, started to shift in space. Moving to further protect the upgraded Venator Star Destroyer of old. Several minutes would go by before a visual came through to the Mon Calamari ship from the Black Tears.
"This is Admiral Mordred Anubis, so kind of you to finally arrive." Mordred lightly ran his finger tips downward from his black mustache over that of his matching goatee, before his hand lifted to run back against his cleanly shaven head. "I hate waiting, Admiral." Commented Mordred as from Gilduss' stree, it seemed Mordred was lifting some sort of tall bottle to his lips for a drink. "Yes, well, it could not be avoided. Some Imperial Remnant troops tried to ambush a supply depot." Spoke the darker skinned Mon Calamari officer from his bridge. "You called me, Gilduss. So, unless it's crazy, ambitious and delusional, it's not worth our time." Smiled Mordred, oh so sweetly.
"You've worked for the New Republic before, doing Privateer work. I have authorization to hire you again for a dangerous job." Mordred perked a slender dark brow at the screen on board his ship. "Triple the fee, this time." Spoke Mordred. Gilduss shifted some in his command chair on board his cruiser. "Done."
Mordred shifted some at the screen on board his ship. That slender dark brow, was held in arch. "You didn't even try to work my price down this time. Must be something pretty important you want me to do for you and the New Republic, Gilduss."
Gilduss nodded slightly at Mordred through the communications display. "It is. There was a peace envoy that was attacked, slaughtered more like it by Imperial Remnant forces. We have word through our spies, that the target was a Rear Admiral heading to the conference. We want her back safe and sound, Mordred."
A bottle of something moved into the view of the screen as Mordred took a long drink before lowering of the bottle off to the side. "Her?" He simply said. Gilduss nodded some what from the bridge of his ship at the view screen. "Yes. Rear Admiral Lexia Swiss."
That dark brow of Mordred's perked again. "The last time I heard from, Lexia, she was in command of a Capitol ship." Gilduss nodded once more. "Yes, she was. Her ship was needed in a recent strike against a shipyard. Instead of waiting, she insisted on going to the conference on board a CR90 Corvette. We fear the Imperials might wish to gain what she knows of our fleets and orbital installations we have spread out in various systems." Mordred nodded to his lightly. "So, you need me to dash in and rescue the damsel in distress from the evil clutches of the Imperial Remnant wampas." Gilduss blinked his eyes, but would give a firm nod of his head. "Not how I would put it, but yes."
Mordred nodded toward the communication screen. "Okay, sound like fun!" His hand then moved to take up a pair of dark pants from a droid coming close to him then. Gilduss blinked his eyes at either side of his head again. "Mordred" Were you not wearing pants this entire time during our conversation?" Mordred looked back at the screen. "Of course I wasn't. You took too long getting here, so I had this droid wash my clothes. Do you have any idea of amazing feeling of walking around your quarters with only a shirt on' I'll admit, I did turn up the temperature a little." Gilduss blinked again, then again. Mordred gave a smile and a little wave. "All right, transfer over all information you have and we'll be off soon to find your missing Admiral." As the communication screen went blank, Gilduss shook his head. "That man, is strangely odd."
