Death would come out of the southern sky. A high pitched scream cut through the silence of the small hours of the morning. The monster was immense in the sky, its skin was a slimy, shining black at the time and it's wings seemed to go on forever, but they didn't. Obviously not many people would be awake to see this happen. The monster screamed again in a horrible rage at the tiny structures below it. Hideous things that only seemed to be begging to be leveled, to be wiped off the map.

Maskim Terax, The cosmic dragon had come to Rhydin and already he hated it, despised it. It's piercing yellow eyes had those black slits in it, and they narrowed at something horrible, something small and pathetic. Something mortal and weak. The dive began and his speed accelerated. He was aiming right for it. He was nearly three hundred feet above the tallest mast of the biggest ship.

It was seconds, his speed caused the air around him shattered, the barrier of sound was broken and the sonic boom would be enough of a warning, the only warning most would ever get. His dark jaws opened up as the line of attack began to straighten out.

Green flames burst forth from his mouth, a line of death engulfed the docks, and it didn't take long for those floating structures to turn into very expensive scrap metal and materials that used to have a purpose. The dragon, no, not a dragon but truly a monster flew through his flames nearly the instant he set them. The unholy hell fire followed him and the sparks would catch on to other dry buildings, and the blaze would start anew.

Then, he landed on the nearest solid ground, and in the darkness and the smoke billowing up from the new wreckage he had become hidden for a moment. Watched for the owners to come scurrying out to put the flames out. And they came. Humans. So small, so weak. They did not notice Maskim. He was too big and massive to be noticed.

They were screaming and in a panic. Something in the beast raged, hate flared up at them. No real reason for it actually but there is was. The monster took a step forward, revealing himself for the first time out of the smoke. The humans did take notice, stood there in terror. They knew the form well, the dragon form was something to be mostly unafraid of. In recent times the Dragon race had been seen as cute, friendly, and even cuddly. This didn't make sense.

The monstrous dragon spread his night wings and opened his mouth once more. His potent breath was once again unleashed, this time directed at the humans. He was not mindless. He was not friendly.

The humans tried to run, tried to flee from their fate but not one of the sixty three could avoid their fate. The hellish green flames consumed their flesh. They screamed only for a minute then it was all over. Their blackened skeletons littered the area, surrounded by green flames that threatened to burn out of control, but the wind was blowing out to sea so the flames would have eventually burned out.

The monster surveyed his destruction, some ships were sinking and destroyed. Others were not. It wasn't like he cared if they all destroyed or not. He noticed names on these ships that remained. Ambrosia, Harbinger..and others. He figured they were special, but only noticed them after the attacks. The ships on either side of them were blasted. But those ones were spared, unintended, but odd. He would leave them for now. Make the owners wonder why they were spared when others were completely destroyed.

His wings spread out silently. The bringer of death shot into the sky with no effort at all, and the smoke trailing off of him as he rose into the sky. One last look around at the results was taken, then he was off, soaring back to the direction from where he came, vanishing into the sky leaving only death in his wake.
