Erin stopped just outside Carley's building and checked her outfit. Well worn jeans with a hole in the knee, a striped tee-shirt with a slight v neck and messy hair pulled under a newsboy cap. It was inconspicuous, run of the mill for where they were going. Her feet were tucked in some too worn in boots and her messenger bag swapped for a small purple and black knitted one that matched the one made for Lydia. She pulled down on the tee and stuck her hands in her pockets as she sauntered up to the door. It was early yet, just about time the ships let out, and the sun hadn't yet dipped beneath the horizon.

Pulling the door open, she stepped into the building and wandered down the hall in search of Carley's room. She'd never been here, but the directions seemed clear enough and once she found the given number she raised her hand and knockknocked on the door. A hand resting on one hip, and the other shoved back in her pocket, Erin waited for the elf to come and answer.

"Coming! " Carley's voice rang out from inside the apartment. Soon after it sounded as if things were getting tossed about, haphazardly probably. Girl kept a messy place, one reason she rarely let anyone inside. Handle turned and out she stepped, not dress in usual attire. She knew what was going down tonight, and she knew her normal dress kind of...stood out. So for tonight, she wore somewhat short, form fitting jean shorts with a little coin purse attached to a loop, and a spaghetti strap tank top that was a gradient blue. Dark at the top, nearly white at the bottom. Oh, and there was a super cute sapphiric butterfly pin in her hair, matching the butterflies on her blue sandals.

Okay, so she was probably a little overdressed....but she wanted to look cute!

Door was closed behind her and locked before she spun around to face Erin, almost face to face with her with the added height of her thick soled sandals, grin on her face of course. "We ready to go Eri" " She already started moving, aiming to catch Erin's arm as she passed her by.

" Sure! " Erin let herself be pulled along by the over-eager elf. She laughed a little when she stumbled down the hall. " You look good, Carley... " In fact, Erin was surprised to see her without that beret on. She would have teased, just a little, but it was best to keep Carley from getting mad and perhaps loud. The shuffle shuffle of boots sounded after the tapping of sandals and eventually they had spilled into the street.

" It's just down by the port. Dockside. Place called the Powder Keg. " Erin stuck her free hand back in her pocket. " Ever been" " Erin had a feeling the other girl had not, in fact, been to the establishment. It was....well, gross. Barely standing and often described as a skankhole. However, it was just the place Erin knew she would find what she was looking for.

Even when Erin stumbled Carley didn't let up, nearly dragging her out the building. At Erin's compliment she grinned widely, eyes shining as they formed into crescents, and pointed ears even wriggled a little. "Thanks Eri! You look good too! " There was an extra bounce in her step as she walked then, pausing only to look down the street and then the other way. I mean, there could be a carriage or something, you're supposed to look both ways!

"The Powder Keg" " Carley thought on that a moment. "Oh! Yeah, Heath mentioned it to me! " Then" The grin kinda faded. "Oh..ew. He told me that place was a dump. " Nodding, speaking as if she was informing Erin something new. "He also said some of the sailors call it 'The Skankhole', but it doesn't really stop them from going. A lot of the sailors are hot but they're really gross too, don't you think" Heath isn't though, and Sebastian isn't either. He's pretty well kept for someone who works on the docks. " Nodnod, then she started walking again, Erin in tow.

" I haven't met Heath, but Sebastian is pretty clean. " Erin laughed. " He shaves, too, that's an improvement. " Erin blushed a little, talking about the physical attributes of her ex was just a little embarrassing. She rolled her shoulders in a shrug and kept on the walk. " It's not glamorous, but we're spies. " She grinned and looked over to the other girl. Carley was probably the best partner for this kind of thing. " Or something. " Erin laughed and winked as she kicked a pebble across the street. " Plus, if we're lucky, we'll see a good sailors brawl. I hear they're pretty fantastic. "

The rock Erin was kicking had become kinda like a soccer ball now, and every time they took a few steps, she kicked it again. It was bouncing along the cobble stones of the west end, hopping over cracks and such. It was an easy gait, even if Carley had set the pace and was a faster walker than the leisurely Erin. " And nice to go somewhere other than the Dragon for once, too. "

"Heath's great! You remember what I told you about what happened at the docks and all the fish and the seagulls that attacked me" Heath's the guy that fought them off and helped me out of there! He's super cute too, really tall and has this really nice and neat goatee. You know who'd look great with a goatee" Grem, but he doesn't even shave hardly so I doubt he could keep up with it. If I were Lydia I'd go crazy having to kiss a scruffy face all the time. " Nose crinkled at the thought. Amazing though, how one topic led to another led to another led to another and yet, she always came right back on track.

"Being a spy is exciting! " She hophopped a little with enthusiasm. "I hope we find out something interesting or important, I'd really want to help Fire out. " Those words were a little quieter than the rest, and delivered with more seriousness, but then" She was back to being perky and bouncy. "I just hope we don't get caught up in any brawls, but if we do' I'll protect us with my magic! " Girl wasn't aware that Erin was probably 'packing'.

Carley watched as Erin kicked the rock a few times, quiet a moment. But only for a moment. "I only recently started going to the Dragon. " She had her reasons why, she wouldn't divulge though. It was way too embarassing! "But it's not nearly as bad as I heard it would be, but going somewhere else is a good idea too. We can find out new things, meet new people, make new friends... " She trailed off a little, watching the rock....and then" Just like soccer, she reached out a foot in an attempt to 'steal' the 'ball' from Erin.

Erin laughed as the rock was taken from her. She let her feet fall back into a normal stance as Carley kicked. Nodding, she turned her head to watch the landscape pass as they exited WestEnd and started into the Dockside area. Slowly buildings turned to warehouses and the air started to smell that mixture of salt and fish that was horrible and wonderful all at once. With a slight sigh, Erin remembered the first time anyone brought her down here, that night with Sebastian and she shook it out of her head. The smile returned as she looked back to her companion.

" I like meeting new people. But we have to remember to be careful. We can protect ourselves, but it's better not to get into the trouble in the first place... " A big step for Erin to admit something like that. Things lately had been forcing her to grow up a little, and it was showing in her face as well as in her words. " Ready, Carley" " She said as she brought them to a stop in front of a rather dilapidated building. With a hand Erin tussled her hair, puckered her lips and put on her best wench walk. She propped the door with one booted foot and held it for her friend.

" It's showtime. "
