"Now come on Milo, you done had your swig. It's my turn! Hand me over that there bottle now already!" Otis reached to grab the ale bottle from his friend when Milo slid the bottle out of reach with a quick motion of his hand out to the side. "Hey! I ain't done yet, Otis!"

"Aw come on now, you gonna go and drink it all before I had my share. Just let me have it already!" Otis was smacking Milo in the face while Milo's gaze was out on the water just beyond the docks suddenly. Dropping the bottle, Otis quickly snatched it up for a drink when Milo gave him a hard slap in the face and pointed. "Look...look there at them lights!"

Otis blinked and rubbed his jaw, glancing out over the water. "It's dark out you dumb donkey. What am I supposed to see out there when it's dark out." Lifting the bottle for a drink as Milo pointed again and hit Otis in the shoulder. "Dog gone it! I said looky out there!"

Otis gave pause, not before a healthy swig was had mind you, out over the waters. "Hey, somebody drop a torch in the water?" Asked Otis, which got him a smack from Milo. "That ain't no torch you flee brain, you're drunk from the last two bottles we finished! Torches can't light up under water. Must be one of them flashlight thingies some folks got." Otis blinked from Milo to the water and back again. "Awful lot of them thingies in the water, Milo. Somebody musta' dropped a crate over the side of a ship by accident." "You pea brain! Them are moving! Looky there...!"

The lights shifted below the water's surface. Moving this way, then that way in slow gliding turn.

"Maybe it's some new breed of sea fairy, Milo' If we catch one we could make a good bit of coin I betcha."

Without warning the sea suddenly burst to life as a dark vessel escaped her depths and shot upwards into the night sky. Milo and Otis blinked at the disappearing object and then at each other.

"Milo?" "Yeah...Otis?" "I don't think them were sea fairies..."
