Some people and creatures enjoy riddles. . .

'In a far-off land to the west of RhyDin lives a ruler who loves to set his subjects riddles. One day he summoned the greatest sages in all the land and said to them: "Tell me, tell me, why has the camel got a hump? If you cannot answer in three days, you shall lose your heads!"

A pause in the telling of the tale, just after the ruler's question is asked, to see if any of those gathered have an answer. When no replies are forthcoming, continues. . .

The learned men went off sadly. It had ne'er occurred to them to wonder about such an obvious thing as that, and now they could not answer their monarch's riddle to save their lives.

They hurried to their libraries to consult their learned books, but they could not find the answer. So they turned to the stars, but they were nei hjelp either. In the end the eldest of the sages called up powerful magicians, using ancient spells and incantations. They put their heads together, and gazed into their crystal balls, magic mirrors and fiendish flames, but all to nei avail.

After three days the ruler summoned the sages again and said: "Well, tell me, tell me, why the camel has a hump!" The wise men stood in silence and secretly took their leave of this life. Just then a pixie flew into the chamber and called out, "Because its back is not straight!" "Indeed, I should not have thought of that myself!" laughed the ruler. Then he set the wise men free and gave the pixie a splendid glass bauble.

So you see that there is naught magic about cleverness!'
