The RhyDin Post Color Your City Rave and Paint Party: What You Need to Know September 13, 2011

Hello, RhyDin! If you're reading this, it means we've tickled your fancy with our cruel and endless taunting regarding the events of October the eighth. But worry no longer! After some serious work on the part of not only the employees at the Post but a number of generous RhyDin citizens as well, we are proud to announce the confirmed details of The RhyDin Post Color Your City Rave and Paint Party!

A bit of a mouthful, isn't it' We thought so too. So for the sake of not tying your tongue in a knot, we have elected to simply call this little shindig "Color Your City."

Here at The RhyDin Post we are very proud of our city. We embrace it for all its quirks and spectacles, and we appreciate each and every one of its citizens no matter how long they have lived here. That is why for the past couple of months the Post has been putting together an event that will not only bring attention to the profuse and delightful culture in RhyDin, but also to its citizens in a common thread of community and solidarity.

We are RhyDin! We have an exciting, colorful city and deserve to be celebrated!

Color Your City is more than just a party to us. It is proof that we appreciate our community. In light of such appreciation, we also are happy to announce that all proceeds from this event (and the fundraising activities leading up to the event) will benefit The RhyDin Welcome Center and the newly instituted RhyDin Placement Project " a philanthropic endeavor near to our hearts that provides housing for displaced families and RhyDinians in need.

But goodness! The RPCCRPP is already less than a month away! So here is some of what you need to know!

1. The RhyDin Post Color Your City Rave and Paint Party will be an interactive dance, art festival, and lighthearted tournament all rolled into one. And we're sure you've gathered by now the main focus of our evening: PAINT! In addition to other activities (for those explanations, please keep reading) non-toxic neon paints will be provided to enrich the night's festivities and to bring a little color to our fair citizens!

2. The RPCCRPP will be held at the Dominion Exports Warehouse in downtown RhyDin. It is on the 200th block and very hard to miss, but for your reference we have also printed a map at the bottom of this article.

3. Why a warehouse" Well, RhyDin, the answer is simple: Because unlike the cleaning crews who work in the Great Hall, the generous folks at D.E. are not afraid for their venue to get a little messy. And for your sake, we hope you do not mind getting messy either!

4. Admission to the RPCCRPP on October eighth is free, but pre-registration is recommended. Here's why:

The main event of the night will be an all-out PAINT WAR! If you choose to pre-register (which can be accomplished through post, or at our offices in the RhyDin Marketplace), your registration packet will include a colored bandana. This bandana will indicate which of four teams you have been assigned to: Red, Yellow, Green, or Blue. After a certain amount of time has elapsed during the course of the party, partygoers will be allowed access to provided squirt guns and paint balloons filled with paint in their team's color, and it will be their job to not only avoid being painted, but to paint other teams as much as they can. The team that spreads the most of their color wins a fabulous prize; every team member will receive a pair of full-season hockey tickets, to enjoy the fabulous Stars End Spacers in action!

Note: Pre-registration is not required. Teams will also be assigned at the door for those who wish to participate (this is not mandatory!). However, if you would like to dress in your team color (please choose a neon or BRIGHT version of your color to wear, as this will make the paint show up more easily), or would like to ensure that you and your friends are on the same team, we strongly recommend it.

5. The hosts of the evening will also be judging a COSTUME CONTEST! Rave attire, body paint, and general costuming will all be considered for a prize of appearing as a guest star on the RhyDin Sports Center program with everyone's favorite sports guy Peter Pham and Chris Reed! Note: The costume contest will be judged prior to the start of the paint war, so there is no need to be afraid that errant paint balloons will impact your chances!

6. Other paint-related activities of the night include: Paint drumming (drums will be set up near the DJ booth and will be doused in various colors of paint. Note: These colors will NOT be primaries and will NOT impact your team score!); body painting; and a community project:

Set aside from the "war zone" will be an 8 by 12 foot glass panel and a variety of paints and markers. All partygoers are welcome and encouraged to write, draw, or paint what they like onto this makeshift mural. The panel will be donated to The RhyDin Welcome Center and will be displayed as a sign of our community's creativity and solidarity.

7. In addition to paint-related activities, the RPCCRPP will also have all the makings of one heck of a party! A spacious dance floor will be set up (expect electric, upbeat music!), as well as an open bar and several snack tables, courtesy of a local caterer.

8. But wait! That's not all! Leading up to October eighth, The RhyDin Post will be hosting a raffle to benefit The RhyDin Welcome Center and the RPP. The tickets are five credits or equivalent currency apiece and can be ordered via post, at the Post offices in person, or by calling the number found on the next page. Some of the prizes include: One weekend in the top-floor penthouse of The Ritz; one weekend for a deluxe suite in one of RhyDin's newest, most luxurious hotels; two gift receipts with access to an exclusive VIP lounge at the Royal Tea Caf"; a luxury, high-performance jet ski valued at sixteen thousand credits; and many, many more!*

Rest assured, more information will be had as the date gets closer! But for now, mark your calendars and prepare to get your paint on!

*More raffle details, including a comprehensive list of the prizes offered, will be offered in a later issue.

[[Anyone with any questions or comments, feel free to PM me.

I am in the process of putting together some bandana icons for all those who want to participate. Those interested in having their characters pre-register, please PM me with their character's name(s). If you have more than one character that you would like to be on the same team, please include their name(s) as well.

Again: Those still wishing to participate in the paint war do NOT have to pre-register if they don't want to. Teams will also be assigned at the door. Teams do NOT have to dress in their team color if they don't want to, but they are required to wear their bandana on some part of their body to identify them.

Those wishing to purchase raffle tickets, please PM me with your character's name and the number of raffle tickets he/she wishes to purchase. As mentioned previously, the listed prizes are only some available, and a more comprehensive list will be published very soon! Thanks!]]
