Self defense classes are held at Harker's Academy after normal operating hours for non students regardless of age, race, creed, gender, or innate talents. Potential students with physical limitations are asked to contact (or have someone make contact on their behalf) the administration office to arrange for a class that meets their needs.

Many thanks to the citizens that took part in the recent Children's Day Festival and dueling event. Donations were raised to help cover expenses for High Spires House and other organizations benefiting the children and youth of the city for the next two years. Some gifts were in the form of services and goods such as health care, building repairs, and foodstuff. Several business owners had special events to aid this cause. By request of donors, some donations were allocated to specific groups including the Sarengrave House Project.
