Dueling Showcase to Occur on December 22nd December 21, 2009
So you've been hanging out in the Red Dragon Inn more than you should, and lately you've been hearing more talk than you want about challenges and this dueling nonsense. It's not particularly the talk that bothers you so much, but you don't really understand what all the fuss is about.

The Duel of Swords, of Fists, and of Magic in the past year alone have skyrocketed in attendance, likely due in no small part to popular RhyDinians involving themselves and getting hooked. One such RhyDinian is Sinjin Fai, a Swords Commoner but very entertaining commentator for all three disciplines. In honor of the new year (or maybe just because he feels like it), Fai has decided to host a "Showcase Showdown" on December 22nd in the Arena located beneath the Red Dragon Inn. The event will feature three duels - one in each discipline - with current popular duelists.
In Swords:
G"nort Dragoon-Talandor vs. Maria Graziano
Though a seasoned veteran in and around the Arena, we hear that G"nort is not even close to being done. A press release by Fai has also informed us that Dragoon-Talandor has held Baronial positions in both Dockside and Old Market for nearly a year! In case you didn't know, that takes some talent.
Dueling is anything but a man's world! We've heard bits and pieces about Graziano and her infamous Wrecking Crew, but we suppose we'll just have to see how capable she is in the ring, won't we" We're willing to bet she's got a little more than feminine wiles up her sleeve!
In Magic:
Neo Eternity vs. Sivanna Cyredghymn
The Water Keeper vs. the Fire Keeper" This one's going to hurt, isn't it' Seriously. Do you think Eternity will evaporate" Will Cyredghymn sputter out' We've heard Eternity has made quite a name for himself in Magic, and has already successfully defended his title. Meanwhile, Cyredghymn is the lowest ranking Keeper currently in the discipline. Can she handle the pressure, or will her fiery resolve be squelched" It should prove to be an exciting duel, so come and find out!
In Fists:
Matthew Algiers Simon vs. Koyliak Simon
Uh oh! We hope these two aren't resorting to violence to handle some marital dispute! Actually we kind of are. Maybe that will spice up the fight quite a bit! Both Simons are current Opal holders with stellar win records and partake in active dueling on a regular basis. We hear Koy is one of the most hardcore fighters Fists has had the pleasure of stealing, so our money is on her. But then again, the Governor has to put up with bureaucratic nonsense regularly, so maybe this is his way of venting all that inner rage. We'll just have to see, won't we"
The Post plans to cover each match in writing as well as record them. Videotaped copies will be available by Christmas day for nine coppers a piece or twenty dollars.
The event is to take place from 9.00 PM to 12.00 AM, with an afterparty to be had in the Great Helm Tavern to celebrate. Come join for fun, free food, and massive bloodshed!
