Fire in West RhyDin: Eight Presumed Dead December 18, 2009

For some time last night, the western coast of RhyDin was lit up in a pre-New Year's illumination exhibition.
It was anything but a celebration.
According to neighbors, billowing columns of smoke and ash that rose well into the night were caused by a multiple alarm fire that had overwhelmed the Ravenlock Estate. According to RhyDin's Sleepless News, firefighters interviewed claim the blaze was well underway by the time they arrived and impossible to control.
Homes in the immediate vicinity were reported vacant at the time of the fire, but all residents within a one-block radius were evacuated in case the inferno spread.
Evidence suggests that the family of eight to whom the home belongs was inside the building when it was consumed.
No word yet on the cause of the fire, but already neighbors and friends of the Ravenlock family are fearing the worst.
"She had children," one neighbor mourned, barely able to contain her tears. "Seven of them. God help those children. God help all of them."
Another neighbor was not so composed.
"Jewell was a brat," Edwin Eckleford, former neighbor, said. "But she was our brat. And those children" they were angels. Every last one of them. This is one of the worst tragedies I have ever seen?"
Unable to continue, Eckleford declined further comment.
No contact has been achieved yet with close friends and family of the Ravenlocks, but we will keep you updated as developments occur.
