A Letter From the Editor January 6, 2012

Dear Readers,

Rather than surrender this information to a competing company, I feel it is our duty to inform you directly of the Post's current standings. And sadly, I must confirm that the rumors circulating in RhyDin recently are true. Today I write to you about the future of The RhyDin Post, which is in circumstances that may require us to cease publication as early as February unless we succeed in our efforts to find additional financial backing. While our staff and sponsors have already been informed " and for the past several weeks have been engaging in efforts to prevent the newspaper's cessation - we would like our readers as well to be aware of the situation.

When we launched this business, it was with two goals. There was an informative goal " comprising that of our famous editorial sections that have no doubt spawned multiple controversies, as well as our fervent attempts at keeping the greater public abreast of current events in the city and surrounding areas of RhyDin " and there was an entertainment goal. Tireless efforts have been made since the Post's inception to amuse and entertain its readership and its competition, with numerous authors of ours writing on subjects of satire, gossip, and even critiques. Not once has the purpose of the Post been rooted in the endeavor for financial profit. Rather, we have endeavored to give back to our community as entirely as possible, and it is only with the help of that community that we have managed to achieve as much success as we have in the past few years.

In the past three years " and many before that " the Post has succeeded in achieving journalistic credibility and a reputation for scrupulousness and sass. This happens only because we have been fortunate enough to have a faithful, high-quality readership. Thanks to many generous investors and due to the kindness of our readers, the Post has in the past managed to keep its head above water financially. While we could easily waste several pages with individual thank-yous, we have resolved instead to convey our overwhelming gratitude to those who have had such faith in our publication, even from the beginning. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

As of recently, we have been in contact with several potential investors about possible shareholding opportunities and partnerships. Though none have come to fruition and we so far have no assurance of their success, we remain hopeful.

We share all of this with you today not only to inform you of our predicament, but of the factuality that many of us refuse to face today. Many small businesses in RhyDin are facing tough economic times, so if there is some way for you to contribute to their cause, we encourage you to. Not many of us can keep our heads above water without the faithful support and attention of our admirers (and even our competitors). It is that support that establishes the RhyDin community; for though we are diverse and widespread " with roots from several universes apart or more " we still all have one thing in common: our love of RhyDin. That solidarity is what defines us as RhyDinians, and we urge you to embrace it.

We here at the Post still believe our publication has an optimistic future. That is why we have continued, and shall continue for as long as we can to try to keep our project afloat, patiently seeking out fellow RhyDinians with our same vision in mind: to inform, to entertain, and to inspire. We assure you that our search shall be thorough and keen, with every intention of keeping our " and your ? best interests in mind.

Rest assured, we fully expect to keep you, our dear readers, apprised of the situation. But until then, in the words of one of our beloved columnists:

You stay sassy, RhyDin.

Dearest Regards, Michael M. Twert Editor in Chief
