Local Billionaire Injured in Red Dragon Inn Shootout May 18, 2011

Edward Batten, owner of Batten Industries was shot in the Red Dragon Inn Tuesday night after an unidentified assailant seemingly targeted the mass of patrons within through one of the street-side windows.

"If I had to guess the gunman outside was for a diversion," said Batten, whose company specializes in the manufacturing of state-of-the-art technology here in RhyDin. "Maybe trying to get their jollies off by shooting innocent bystanders."

The gunfire began around approximately ten PM, and according to witness descriptions might have come from some kind of an automatic weapon.

"Those bullets were coming into the inn like a bunch of super angry little bees. BEES THAT KILL," Daigh Sterling, 26, said.

Around the same time, a second unidentified assailant inside reportedly assaulted local artist and current gubernatorial candidate Fionna Helston al Amat, though witnesses could not corroborate whether she or Batten seemed to be a deliberate target of either attack.

"I saw that Icer, Vinny and Fio seemed to get a lot of attention," added Sterling. "But whoever was doing the shooting needs to check themselves, because shooting indiscriminate bee bullets at innocent people is super not cool."

"He did have a knife," Icer Shimmerscale, RDI patron, said of Helston al Amat's attacker. "And I was in the leg, and" Well I don't know who else was hit, but a lot of bottles."

Aside from minor injuries sustained by a few patrons and Red Dragon property, no serious harm seems to have come out of the incident.

"It has happened before," added Shimmerscale. "Lots of shooting, but I just came for a nice peaceful evening."

Though speculation is running high that the simultaneous assaults were somehow related, so far no leads have been found.

Edward Batten and Fionna Helston al Amat when last reported were in good condition.
