Local Businesswoman Attacked Following Charity Event February 13, 2011

MARKETPLACE, R.D. —- The RhyDin Post received details this morning regarding an assault that took place the morning of January 30th.

According to her coworkers, Fiora Shantalaine, local RhyDin realtor, was discovered unconscious within the vault of the Plaza de Troyes office building, which she also owns and operates. Shantalaine, 24, had reportedly sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and shattered shoulder consistent with second-degree assault and possibly attempted murder.

"We got lucky with that one," Li Chen, RhyDin Watch sergeant, said. "The vault where she was found is equipped with stasis control, which kept Miss Shantalaine from losing any more blood and ultimately kept her alive. Thank god for technology. Really."

Shantalaine was last seen in the RhyDin Great Hall by friend and coworker Dr. Euriya Shilo, a psychiatrist who also has offices at the Plaza de Troyes. A statement released by the Watch indicates that Shilo had been conversing with Shantalaine following a gala she had been hosting when he was called away on business. Authorities speculate shortly thereafter Shantalaine returned to the Plaza, where she was confronted by one or more assailants. The attack is estimated to have occurred around three A.M., though Shantalaine was not discovered until shortly after lunch.

Though the protocol is unorthodox, Sergeant Chen asserts that private investigator Luke Boudreux will be heading the investigation.

"At this point the only lead we have is some caterers that didn't show up for work and a Plaza de Troyes assistant that is missing. They left no physical evidence. None whatsoever," said Chen. "We welcome any help we can get."

"This whole situation leaves me sick," Boudreux told the RhyDin Post Saturday. "Really, what kind of person would do this to one that seeks little more than to improve upon RhyDin Proper, and that was trying to give back to the community' I will be working diligently on this case so that these people may be brought to justice."

Shalantaine is currently recovering at an undisclosed location and is said to be in stable condition.

Anyone with any information regarding this case is urged to contact the Watch or Luke Boudreux at Boudreux Investigations.
