RDI Patrons Targets for More Kidnappings September 8, 2010

R.D., RHYDIN —- In the past week alone, at least four documented kidnappings have been reported as having taken place in the famous Red Dragon Inn of RhyDin City.

The kidnappings, as reported by witnesses* and various news agencies in the area, involve victims who seem to have no obvious connection to one another besides frequenting the local establishment as customers. Some officials have commented that all the RhyDin kidnappings are connected with sightings of armored reptilian humanoids claiming to be "Jaffa."

"Please understand that we are trying to figure out just who these creatures are targeting and why they are being targeted," said the Watch commissioner in a press conference this morning at Precinct One. "From what we can tell, they harbor some kind of beliefs that are obviously not shared by their fellow citizens, and as such, these humanoids are acting out aggressively."

"It's really an extreme form of ethnocentrism, as far as we can tell," added the commissioner.

In the past two nights alone, at least two abductions have been verified, and though witnesses are plentiful, the location these victims are being taken to has yet to be discovered.

"I don't know," said Eddie Garner, passerby, and local blacksmith. "I heard them talking about 'surplus' and a 'challenge' last night, but when I saw a screaming, flailing redhead, I hightailed it out of there."

"Something about Surplus. The Purpose," alleged one witness. "Probably need organics to fuel their spaceship into the future void or something."

According to sources present, one of the hostages taken on September 7 was positively identified as Inn-regular Tara Ryneiyn.

"Wha' the <CENSORED> this <CENSORED> ....I swear to god I will <CENSORED> <CENSORED> <CENSORED> stab somethin' ....god <CENSORED> snakes!" commented one distressed patron during a struggle with two of the alleged kidnappers.

No ransom demands have yet been made, and as of yet there has been no word from either the victims or suspects. Authorities think the real figures for the number of kidnappings may be even greater than those currently on file, since many abductions go unreported.

"This is, like, the fourth kidnapping attempt I've gotten to witness in a month," commented a patron. "This place is great sometimes. You know, when people aren't trying to kill you."

"I heard that they were kind of squirmy and small underneath those masks," said Jema Sharrson, friend of an eyewitness. "But I can't be sure. There was so much commotion there, it was hard to tell."

Presently, Watch members still urge RhyDin citizens to exercise caution when walking home alone at night, and encourage any information gathered on these suspects to be forwarded to their local precinct or circulated among the general population.
