RhyDin Clinic Attacked February 12, 2011

EAST R.D., RHYDIN —- Shambles Clinic in east RhyDin is still reeling from an attack that took place Monday the twenty-first.

According to investigators that arrived late at the scene, Shambles seemed to be the target for a brutal assault by a drow male that recently surfaced from the Underdark. The suspect, armed with a sword and dagger, allegedly went on a killing rampage through the "shambles" until he reached the clinic, where witnesses claim he was stopped by the clinic's director, Mataru Frondaya.

While the assailant has not been identified, sources indicate that he may have been mentally disturbed

"It was incredible," said Sofia Hoffman, student nurse at the clinic. "This weirdo came rushing in, yelling all this stuff in that horrible language those dark elves spit at people and waving his swords around like he was going to kill all of us. He went straight for the Healing Rooms, and we got most of the patients out. We were trying to work out what was going on when Mr. Frondaya came, and let me tell you, he was furious! I've never seen him so angry - he's usually such a nice, quiet man; he never gets upset, not even when the patients or their families shout at him. A lot of people don't trust him because he's a drow, you see. But he's never hurt anyone! Well, except that other drow, but he didn't throw him out a window or anything. It was really quick. Just one yell, and then Mr. Frondaya came back out and told us everything was safe again."

Added Hoffman: "Just goes to show how stupid people are when they say drow are evil, doesn't it?"

"That fellow he took down" Snapped his neck in four places, no bruising. Now that is a master at work," said Henry Davenport, Chief Resident.

Reports indicate that as many as forty residents of the Shambles area were injured in the attacks, with approximately eighteen confirmed fatalities, two of whom were patients awaiting treatment at the Clinic itself.

Members of the local Watch offices arrived approximately four hours after the dispatcher received a distress call.

"We only have so many hands," said Sergeant Mulligan of the eighteenth precinct. "We regret that we couldn't get there as quickly as we wanted to, but from what witnesses tell us Mr. Frondaya had the situation well in hand."

Bethany Hul'Garin, Assistant Director, attested to Frondaya's efforts.

"Mr. Frondaya does not like to advertise his skills, but he is a highly accomplished fighter. I have no doubt that he disarmed the drow without any difficulty at all, and with minimal damage to our property."

Restoration and clean-up efforts in the shambles are already underway, and the clinic is expected to resume its operations in approximately fourteen days' time. Until then, it will still accept non-critical patients, with emergent patients being rerouted to other hospitals.

Though Frondaya could not be reached for comment, the Watch has so far issued no warrant for his arrest.
