RhyDin Watch Unsolicited in Latest Abduction March 6, 2011

R.D., RHYDIN —- The RhyDin Watch has declared itself unaffiliated with a case of kidnapping that took place at 12:30 AM on March the second, prompting outrage from residents both in and around RhyDin city.

According to a third-hand account, the abducted victim was Emlyn Osiris, a healer at the Urgent Care Center in the Marketplace. Osiris, 25, was allegedly taken from the Red Dragon Inn by a suspect witnesses have identified as Anthony Hodgekiss.

"He's dark, sort of handsome, but a complete jerk," Audrey Horne, bookkeeper, said of Hodgekiss. " really has it out for Emlyn."

The abduction was reportedly witnessed by several bystanders, including Horne.

"I head-butted him, but I wasn't exactly right when it happened. I hurt my face on his stupid skull," added Horne. "Well, my rabbit says some sort of Academy. I think it's the one that Emlyn used to go to, but I'm not sure."

While this latest abduction has not been connected yet to the six others so far this year, a hands-on approach to crime-solving by the victim's closest friends and the Watch's poor record on these cases seems to indicate a shift in the law enforcement process.

"Have you seen how many things go on that the Watch doesn't even bat an eye at?" said Horne. "I don't trust them to find their way out of paper bag, so I don't trust them to find my sister."

"They don't seem to know what the hell is going on usually anyway," said Cuyler Quinn, who originally contacted the RhyDin Post regarding the case.

Though this is not the first time RhyDinians have taken the initiative to solve their own cases, the Watch's disinterest when approached by the media with details of the abduction has sparked more than a little disapproval with local citizens.

"You know what I heard" I heard that the constable said that "if they don't want help, it's not his problem," that's what I heard!" Rhonda Meener, schoolteacher, said. "It's utterly atrocious! These are people that are supposed to be serving RhyDin for the greater good!"

The constable and his staff could not be reached for comment.

Although the RhyDin Watch has long since been a standby authority both culturally and defensively, outsourcing, private enterprising, and the hiring of mercenaries - all options that are not new to RhyDin - seem to be more and more favored recently. That much is an opinion that many others - including Horne - were quick to agree with.

"I say power to the people. I think something should be done, even if I don't know what that something should be."

Friends of Osiris are asking anyone with any information to come forward and contact them directly.
