'Rocketeer' Sighted in Burning Building Rescue December 10, 2011

Early yesterday an unidentified man wearing what appeared to be a rocket engine on his back rescued a construction worker from the roof of a burning building.

Hans Jensen, 31, had been inspecting the roof of the Homburg Hotel near RhyDin's Marketplace when the building caught fire. The hotel's only fire escape was inaccessible, and rescue helicopters from Star's End could not approach the building due to the heavy smoke. Narrow streets and the intensity of the blaze prevented ladders from reaching the rooftop.

At about 3:30 p.m. a "helmeted man with a rocket" appeared over Homburg Plaza.

"This rocketeer appeared to be a male of short to average height, wearing a helmet with a tinted visor and a leather jacket. The rocket was broad and thin and appeared to emit no flames, only steam. No physical characteristic besides gender and height could be determined," said a Watch officer speaking on condition of anonymity.

According to Jensen the figure landed on the rooftop and strapped him to his chest with a device similar to a seatbelt. He then flew Jensen to the ground, but fled the scene when approached by the authorities for questioning.

"I'm just happy to be alive," said Jensen. "I don't know who this man is, but if he wants to stay anonymous, I think he's earned his privacy. Thank you, rocketeer!"

Anyone with information regarding the 'rocketeer' is urged to contact their local Watch station.
