Sixteen Questions August 23, 2013

Settle in with a good cup of coffee folks and get to know Lem DeAngelo.

> How long have you been in RhyDin" I first arrived in RhyDin about 16 years ago. I had about a 7 year vacation after a dark mage tried to assassinate me at the turn of the century. That disagreement took a little while to resolve. Here's a free, pro tip: If someone tells you they want you to be "pushing up daisies," it doesn't mean they want to hire you as their gardener. Well, who is the gardener now Mr. Dark Mage" No, wait I mean, who is pushing up the daisies now Mr. Dark Mage" Yeah, that's what I thought. ::folds his arms and looks smug with himself::

> What is the one thing about life in RhyDin that you love" The people. Everyone has an interesting story to tell. It's like Rhydin is a magnet for people with a troubled history. Someone should make a movie about of us. We'd have to find someone really, really old to play the role of that old codger Matt Simon though. I'll check with the retirement villages and see if anyone is available between playing checkers and eating dinner at 4:00pm every day.

> Is there anything about RhyDin that you would change" I wish everything was free just like the drinks in the Outback. If you want something to drink in the Outback, all you have to do is ask for the Simon Special. They bring you the good stuff and you never have to pay for it!

> You aren't seen much outside of Twilight Island, Annex or Arena. Why is that" Well, I have a very demanding schedule. I need at least 12 hours of beauty rest each evening so that keeps me a little busy. After that I have to handle Twilight Island's affairs, make sure the staff is happy, keep the dueling rings and portal in working order, make sure there are no evil forces trying to take over, just basic day-to-day stuff like that.

> When there were debates about mage registration, your voice was one we didnot hear from, can you tell us your thoughts about that" The only thing a registry is good for is gifts giving, which means there is probably a party associated with the gifts. I'm always ready for a good party.

> What do you think makes for a successful relationship" Who asked?"" Do you know someone?"" Are they too shy to ask me on their own" I would say that the chicks must dig the beard. It's been with me for too long to go anywhere now. Also, I think it's important to be a good listener. Or at least that's what I've heard people say. I was a little sleepy when they were talking. Just needed to rest the old eyes for a few...mmmm zzzz zzzz.

> Who do you think is fascinating to watch" I recently participated in a strip dueling event with a young lady named Janie Devonstone. I blacked out a few times, but the parts I remember were absolutely fascinating.

> What is something most people don't know about you? What do they miss when meeting you? Just because I've been around for a few years doesn't mean I've gotten old and slow. ::shows off his washboard abs:: In magic, there is great vitality. ::coughing:: Also they may not know that I get a little nervous around women ::coughing::

> If you knew you were going to be stranded on a deserted island - what 5 things would you take with you? I would take 4 cases of rum and 1 phone. I would use the phone to call Napoleon to come rescue me with his piRATe ship, and we would then drink the 4 cases of rum as we made a return voyage while raiding bad guys" ships and treating the ladies to a good time at each and every port.

> What do you admire most about your best friend" I haven't seen him in ages, but he was a fierce friend with incredible loyalty. Other than that, whoever is buying the food or the drinks can be my best friend for the evening.

> Who is your favorite bartender" Sissy and Warren did a great job a few weeks ago when I stopped by Stars End Bar for an evening of drinks and dueling. I'll give them a nod for their excellent hospitality.

> Do you like sweets" What kinds of sweets are your favorites" Of course, let me see my favorite would be macadamia cookies, strawberry pie, pecan pie, chocolate pie, caramel cake, chocolate cake, vanilla ice cream, donuts, blackberry cobbler, butter-finger cake, chess pie, chocolate chip cookies, waffles with maple syrup, and pretty much everything else.

> Who is your favorite caller" That's a tough one since there are so many great callers. Nappy awards points to the crowd, so that's always fun. Harris always has a lot of great commentary when he calls a match, so he's up there. Kheld always goes above and beyond as well. There are some great team callers like Rena and Aja and Misty and Sarah. It's just too tough to call.

> How do you feel about marshmallow" Marshmallow" Isn't that Jesse's pet name for Xanth' They are a cute couple I guess. Everyone loves Janth.

> How big is your tab at the Inn or on the Island" Hmmm what?s the senior citizen discount up to these days" Don't they just write it off when you hit a certain age" If so, that is my current age.

> Have you ever fed the stew" I have not fed the stew, but I have heard that only the bravest of warriors have made the attempt. Perhaps it is time for the oldest of warriors to give it a try. Which would of course be Matt Simon or G'nort ::incoherent babbling attempt at his many middle names:: Dragoon-Talanador. Let me know how it works out for them.
