String of Animal Attacks Possibly Related June 26, 2011

Authorities in RhyDin are trying to determine whether there is any connection between what has become a string of violent murders taking place all around the city.

In a report filed with the press Friday by the RhyDin Watch, three or more victims have turned up within blocks of the Marketplace and WestEnd territories, all exhibiting the same form of gruesome, debilitating, and fatal neck injuries. So far only two of the victims have been identified; The first, Myra McTaggert, was reported as missing or abducted along with her sisters Mara and Mesha over two years ago. The second victim, Vergil "Crash' Arkham, was a known affiliate of the infamous Mako gang here in RhyDin, and according to sources at the Watch has more than once been under investigations regarding criminal allegations.

Based on the broad differences between victims, investigators were initially reluctant to classify these crimes as related. But given the similar conditions of their murders, as well as the positions of the bodies at the time of death, detectives are relatively certain that these homicides are connected.

"Location-wise, the victims did not have much in common aside from being on rooftops," the Watch commissioner told the Post Saturday in a phone interview. "The female was found on the rooftop of a small business in the Marketplace, while the identified male was found on top of the Nuitari Printers building in WestEnd. Each appeared to have their throat torn out in some kind of violent animal attack."

Interestingly, a source at the City Morgue has informed the Post that despite the savagery of the victims" wounds, bite marks indicate that the injuries could have been made by a mouth no bigger than a human being's.

Reports indicate that the bodies were found in high places within two hours of each other on the twentieth of June, between the hours of nine and eleven PM.

In related news, authorities are considering the disappearance of two workers from a RhyDin Aquifer Pumphouse as related to the case. Pumphouse 54 is just two blocks from where the first body was found.

"As always, I must urge the people of RhyDin to exercise extreme caution when walking around alone at night," the Watch commissioner said. "As far as we can tell this thing attacks its victims individually, so if you must travel at night, I recommend traveling in a group."

Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact their closest Watch precinct immediately.
