The building itself stands just outside the RhyDin Town Center, a half-art deco, half-modern office constructed of handsome industrial brick inlay and modern glass and wood paneling on the upper floors. Office windows open up and give ample view of the hustle and bustle of the Marketplace, while the higher, coveted offices are boasted as viewing as far as the coast.
Iron-plated Courier New letters reading The RhyDin Post hang over two sets of automatic, glass doors that invite the reader, applicant, or visitor in with a gust of cool air. The lobby resembles more a hotel than a periodical establishment, with black and white marble floors, a plethora of black matte halogen lamps, and plush leather sofas. Three receptionists man the first floor:
Mia Garner - a mousy, petite brunette constantly in a state of disarray. Oluwa Okafor - a handsome, articulate, put-together graduate student in the liberal arts from Nigeria. Lena Dimitrevna - an attractive, twenty-nine year-old blonde immigrant from Russia who is punctual, organized, and polite, but fairly clumsy in Common.
A set of eight stainless steel elevators back the lobby, with restrooms, vending machines, and a staff lounge branching off to the right. Ficus trees, bamboo, and various potted plants add much-needed color to an otherwise grayscale reception area.
The building has eighteen floors, with the three highest floors reserved for chairmembers and columnists with private offices. The six floors below that are comprised of chaotic assemblies of desks and cubicles, interspersed with meeting and board rooms every other floor. Currently the Post is sharing the office building with Freestyle Advertising; employees that collaborate with the Post are situated in more organized cubicles and private offices three below, with the remaining floors reserved for Freestyle Advertising business exploits alone.
