Watch Officer Found Murdered October 4, 2010
WEST END, RHYDIN —- The RhyDin Watch is currently investigating the homicide of fellow Watch sergeant Bart Cooper, according to a statement released by West End Precinct One this morning.
Sergeant Bart Cooper, 51, was found strangled to death by a former Watch officer a few blocks from the Blue Moon Diner, within walking distance of the West End Watch precinct. The veteran officer had just gotten off duty and was reportedly on his way home for the night after stopping at a local pub.
Coroner reports verify that the victim died around 9 P.M.
So far, good leads in the investigation have been hard to come by.
"Unfortunately, the evidence surrounding Sgt. Cooper's death is virtually non-existent," Supt. Derek Grisshaw said during a press conference this morning. "We do, however, have a loose description of the suspect, and are basing our investigation primarily off that."
According to Grisshaw, the suspect is female, around 5'6" and has dark hair and a slim build. The woman was seen fleeing the scene of the crime by a key witness, and is considered armed and extremely dangerous.
"If you can positively identify this woman, do not make any attempts to apprehend her yourself," warned Grisshaw. "Instead, contact your local precinct, and let us handle it. It's what we're here for."
Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Watch immediately.
As of yet, arrangements for Cooper's funeral have not been announced.
