Watch Steps Up Patrols After Saturday Shooting September 4, 2011

The RhyDin Watch is stepping up patrols in the city's central district and surrounding neighborhoods in response to two seemingly target-related shootings this week, Captain Jeffrey Miller said today.

On Saturday night, several RhyDin citizens were accosted on Red Dragon Inn property " a popular tavern and hangout for locals " with sprays of outside gunfire and physical assault. Passing witnesses assert that the source of the attack was a group of armored individuals, whose number has varied between two and three in different accounts.

"Regrettably there weren't many witnesses that are willing to talk about that incident," Captain Miller told the Post after a press conference held earlier today. "All we know is there were two or three people in some kind of extremely advanced armor who began attacking the patrons. Later another couple of armored folks showed up and responded to the attack, but I can at least tell you that they weren't ours."

Though the blitz was managed smoothly by these would-be anonymous heroes and the damage incurred on the Red Dragon's property was repaired, Captain Miller reiterated the need for a stronger police force in central RhyDin.

"We can't always rely on nameless Good Samaritans to do our heavy lifting," Miller said. "Though if it were up to me, I'd give those guys a medal for their bravery."

So far, no casualties or serious injuries regarding Saturday's incident have been reported.

Authorities are also considering the possibility that this attack is related to another that took place earlier today, in which an armored individual reportedly assaulted Inn patrons with gunfire and later detonated, releasing toxic gas and destructive shrapnel. Though the targets of that attack are obscure, healthcare professionals at Riverview Clinic have informed the Post that of both admitted parties that were injured in the attack earlier this evening, Dr. Raye Ibaraki is currently in critical condition. The other's identity has not yet been released.

"I was sitting with Miss Raye and suddenly a gun started firing from the window I was sitting at," Kathryn Rhysata, local bakery owner, said. "A lot of other people got hit as well" Whoever it was, it was a little girl and I don't think it' was human. Not a robot but not a little girl either. She kept firing her guns and....me and Miss Raye seemed to be her targets at the time."

Added Rhysata: "I told Miss Issy how I think that the Scathachian is being targeted and before she could really respond this woman came in confirming my thoughts! Anyways. knocked Issy outside and she was gone. I really hope she's okay.?

Following the second cumulative onslaught, Captain Miller issued a statement that his plans to bolster the forces in the inner city have only been justified.

No detailed suspect description was immediately available in connection with Ibaraki's hospitalization.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact the RhyDin Watch.
