"You know, Carson, I didn't want you to confirm that guy dead the other day. Really put me in a bit of a bind." Said a middle aged, balding man who always looked to be on the wrong side of a fight. He went by Riot but she called him Tinker Bell just to watch his face turn red with aggravation.

Shaking her head in disbelief from the seat behind her desk. One stacked way too high with 'special cases'. Meaning those people in certain positions of authority would like altered. The job gave plenty of opportunities for creativity. "What would you prefer me to say on his death certificate" Cold, rigor mor'tis set in but alive and well" That's not how it works, Tink. You know that."

Riot started ringing the wool cap around in his hands. Wouldn't survive the punishment at this rate. "I didn't plan to kill him. I don't need it to get around I did. Sure help if he wasn't quite as dead as you made him out to be."

"Ah, I see. So three bullets to the head and ten to the chest was just to scare the guy." Couldn't help but laugh outright about the man's theory. Had to give him credit for trying though.

He held up his right hand as if it were a gun. "I got a jumpy trigger finger."

"I'd say so. Now I'm suppose to make it all go away by saying a dead man's not really dead. Any minute now he'll get up and tell me how 'he's not dead. He's happy' then sing me a song?" Pilfering through a stack of files until finding the one in question.

"Yes! Yes! He's undead. You know, like one of those zombies. They rise again! Be right as rain in the morning. Come on, do me a solid and ditch the file, eh' No one will know." Figuring if a little bribery money was laid on the table, it was sure to work out.

Undead..zombies. Seem plenty of them in her lifetime. No matter how many hopped back up after their 'unfortunate incident' which caused untimely deaths, she always jumped when the resurrections happened. "Keep your money, I don't need it. Tell you what, if he gets up and walks out of here on his own accord before tomorrow morning, I'll pretend I never saw him." Opening up the file to the picture of a pale, stiff, and definitely decaying man shot so full of holes he could be used as a strainer. "However, if he doesn't, I'm afraid the finding of homicide will have to stick. Besides, the authorities have already been here, read the results and are probably looking for you. ..since they have the gun."

Was comical to see the older man's eyes go wide with surprise, mumbling under his breath. "Wondered where it went. Well, I should be going. Just pretend you didn't see me. I wasn't here."

"I know, I know. Just a ghostly apparition. Figment of my wild imagination." Waving him off. Yes, she was letting the crazy man go. This was Rhydin after all. The only fun a person could have was either chasing or being chased. He'd be caught sooner or later.
