"Please, sir, have you..." Oh."

For the thirtieth time that day Birdie stared at the retreating back of someone who hadn't even paused to look at her poster or listen to her please. Her bone white brows had taken on the permanent position of being furrowed together. It was positively devastating to her skin, since surely just one day like that would create a wrinkle.

Except it hadn't been just one day. Now it had been three, each one as fruitless as the last. Oh, The Pixies" I love that band! or That seems like such a tiny problem, laugh.

They hadn't all been like that, of course. She'd need a few extra hands to count the people who would peer at her poster and shake their heads no before moving on. Well-wishers had promised to keep their eyes peeled. It was simply that no one knew anything.

As she sighed her chin dropped towards her chest and her shoulders slumped inwards. It was hopeless.

Footsteps nearing made her perk up and again she was ready with the poster out. "Please, have you seen these pixies?"

It was hopeless, but she'd paper the city with posters if she had to.

(This is an open story line. Feel free to have heard rumors or seen posters of missing pixies, brownies, nixies, etc any small fairy types. Fore more info, ask!

A month. A little over a month, though to Birdie the passage of time should have felt like a flash in the pan. Yet each and every day had stretched to its very limit.

Still, nothing broke. Not one lead, not one reliable piece of information. Even the few who had extended the offer to help had ghosted away like they too were stolen away with the pixies.

More had disappeared in that time. Whole families plucked from their hollows with no evidence as to how or why. There was no way this could be anything but some nefarious deed, but why would no one listen?

She could feel in her very bones the brewing of a storm.

He forcefully snatched one of the posters from the wall, slowly shaking his head as he read. " Never met a Pixie who wasn't up to some sort of mischief. no surprise they're disappearing" He looked to the one standing near "perhaps for a small fee, I could be convinced to help you?. After all, even an Elf had to eat.

Citizens of Rhy'Din may have noticed increasingly bad weather over the past couple of weeks. Severe thunderstorms bringing heavy rains, multitudes of lightning strikes and even a few tornadoes were spied spinning past the city. As of yet most have only been plagued by wet shoes and mourning the loss of the sun. At first it would seem like just another oddity the city was likely to see. Until now.

Sea witches have taken credit for the recent unrest in weather and have threatened to kick things up a notch if their plight goes unanswered. Water spouts, rogue waves, storms, whatever is at their disposal. Mermaids have sworn to stop saving overboard sailors. All manner of sea-fae up in arms over a single issue:

Disappearances.

From across the underwater community, reports have been reaching land detailing over a dozen cases of missing kelpie, naiads, selkie, and others. Evidence of foul play has been surfaced.

Where have they gone? Who took them'

The seas are begging for answers.

Long Live the King

Konstantin was not a man who liked to lose. He liked to be the top dog in every aspect of life, whether it be having the fastest cars or prettiest women or the most expensive accessories. He liked walking into a room and having everyone look at him.

So he trained hard. He worked hard. He played hard. And he hit very, very hard. Few fighters squaring up against him kept their feet and none walked away unscathed. Back on Earth he had only lost a few fights in his very early days as a brawler. After a short UFC run where he was kicked out for being too brutal he turned his sights on something new. A place where his opponents were bigger, stronger, more of a challenge.

Rhy'Din.

When they proved to be too much of a challenge he turned to the tried and true. Vitamin Anabol. He'd eat Clen and Tren hard. Cycle after cycle made him even bigger, even stronger, until he pushed the limits of his human body. Even that wasn't enough.

"You tellin' me this'll double my strength?" He asked the man he met in an dark alley between two empty warehouses in Dockside. Man. Kon was pretty sure the individual who'd handed him the glass capsule wasn't human at all.

"For about three hours. Less if you exert yourself," the man confirmed in a bored tone. Kon was pretty sure the guy was mocking him. He was big, but he wasn't stupid. Sometimes. He turned the capsule over a few more times, watching the way the mist inside roiled with the motion.

"Why don't you take that one on the house. Just a taste."

Kon knew better. It's not that he should have known better. He did. He knew well he was making a bad decision, but the memory of his last loss played over and over in his head.

That man knew he'd be back. And oh did he go back. Every time he won it only made him crave more. Every time he left behind another broken body he needed more. He was on top. Everyone knew it.

He had to have more.

Even when almost no fighting venues would let him in it was just a sign of how good he was. Everyone was afraid of him.

"You're using too much," the man in the alley had warned him, all the while smiling. He knew Kon didn't care.

He just needed to win.

That was what he thought in those three heart beats of borrowed time before darkness took him forever and the essence that had become him spilled past his lips.

Somewhere down a twisted alley one whisper chased another until it hit the ear of a man exchanging a vial for money.

"Dead?" He snorted. He wasn't surprised. "Idiot. Where's his body' It may prove....useful."

The Watch released a statement to the various press outlets after a number of break-ins were reported at the various morgues across the city over the course of about two weeks. While most reported nothing was stolen and the only damage reported was broken locks and the occasional open storage locker, one location reported the theft of a single body, that of known brawler Konstantin Elytis.

An autopsy had been performed on Mr. Elytis, summary to follow:

Dragongate Coroner's Office

Date and Hour performed: 9/2/2018 8:30am RST by

Sample taken and sent for further testing. Unable to measure pupils. Hair is brown, short, at longest one inch.

Upon removal of the clothes there is evidence of recent and past contusions on subject's torso, arms, and legs. There is a mark on subjects upper torso consistent with an electrical burn from a taser.

Internal Examination:

HEAD—CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM: The brain weighs 1,003 grams, significantly undersized for an adult, human male. The brain appears to have significant trauma. Evidence of a greenish liquid, specimen collected and sent for further testing. Of note, subjects hippocampus appears malformed.

SKELETAL SYSTEM: X-rays were performed post-mortem, showing evidence of past fractures to both arms, legs, ribs, and nasal area. No current fractures.

RESPIRATORY SYSTEM—THROAT STRUCTURES: The oral cavity shows no lesions.

There is no obstruction of the airway. The mucosa of the epiglottis, glottis, piriform sinuses, trachea and major bronchi are anatomic. No injuries are seen and there are no mucosal lesions.

Drug Screen Results:

Urine screen {Immunoassay} was NEGATIVE. Ethanol: 0 gm/dl, Blood (Heart) Ethanol: 0 gm/dl, Vitreous

Opinion

Time of death: Body temperature, rigor and livor mortis, and stomach contents approximate the time of death between 11:00pm and 2:00am on 9/1/2018

Immediate Cause of Death: Cardiac Arrest due to chronic, unknown substance use (exacerbated by physical trauma)

Manner of death: Accidental

Remarks: Decedent was originally presented to this office as an accidental homicide. Subject was engaged in voluntary physical combat prior to death, and there was a question of whether one of the combatants cause the death or a bystander who tasered the subject. Evidence at this time points to damaged cause by the abuse of an unknown substance that is as of yet unknown, however caused damage consistent with chronic steroid abuse.

Samples will require further examination.

Quiet whispers around the city have started to spread. A brownie burrow once home to nearly fifty of the tiny fae was found to be destroyed and all of its inhabitants gone, presumed dead.

All across the city house fae have gone to ground. Cobblers who relied on the overnight help are reporting a backlog of uncompleted work.

In response to the attack, boggarts have been reported to cause an increased amount of mischief.
