Aja opened the door to her house and looked around. She grabbed the broom from the cart and swept the cobwebs away as she went further into the house. Stopping in the kitchen, she looked at the busted window from a tree that had fallen and sighed slightly. "It's what you get for leaving for so long." She said to herself, her voice echoing faintly in the empty room. She moved through the house knocking down cobwebs, and taking inventory of damage from years of being left empty. The upper back bedroom also had damage from the tree and Aja wrote that down on the ever growing list she would give the repair men. She turned to leave the room and saw an old cane duct taped above the door, that made her smile a little sadly. One of Miss Lily's canes that Huma probably duct taped up there far out of Lily's reach, done to annoy her. Aja went back down the stairs and took note of the ones that creaked a little too much for comfort. She'd have them replaced. It would take time, but it would be a fine house again. She left, dropping the list off at the repair man's place of business then headed to her shipyards. Making sure everything was moving along smoothly, Aja then went off to ancient cork boards to search for news of old friends and family that may be left. Reading over the boards, there were so many names she didn't recognize, a few she did. But she noticed that she didn't see any from her brother Ajay or his lovely wife Sher. She knew they had been home, rebuilding Ballentine, changing the name to represent the new era of peace and prosperity. Aja also knew they came back to Rhy"Din. But no evidence of that was seen now. She let her fingers trail against the many missives as she headed for the Red Dragon Inn. Maybe there, she'd find someone she knew from before. But that was not to be. "It's what you get for leaving for so long." Aja told herself and decided that perhaps, it was best to start over. New era, new friends. What other choice was there" She gave a slow smile and settled back in to being home.

Trevor's journey home was uneventful. He hadn't thought he'd run into trouble on the way, but one never knew. Then it struck him that he referred to RhyDin in his head as home. But wasn't it' He was born there after all. His mother could've gone anywhere in the world, and she went back to RhyDin. His father still talked about it in reverent tones, he missed it too. Trevor had watched his mother go about her life for a week before finally being spotted by her one night she was dueling. As he had expected, she was upset, but not that he had come without asking, or being called for, only for not telling anyone he was doing it. She still kept her manners making sure that he was introduced to Taneth and Tormay and a gentleman called Guill. She also introduced him to a man named Argus, who seemed to be flirting with her. At the time, it wasn't something he had been happy about as he wanted his family back together. But as he learned by watching her with her friends and employees, there may have been good reason for them being apart. The contrast between her and his father was amazing. They had their similarities to be sure, both worked hard, both trained hard, friends were treated with tremendous care and generosity, but the things that were different about them made Trevor understand for the first time why their marriage might have failed the way it did. Huma, his father was somewhat solitary, preferring the company of a few close allies. New people weren't readily trusted. While Aja spoke to any and everyone. She seemed to be able to deal with people easier than his father did. Huma had no patience for the brash or arrogant. He watched his mother merely smile at those types, the sparkle of amusement in her eyes clear to Trevor from a distance. He watched her objectively. The warmth that seemed to come from her, the almost constant look of humor in her eyes, drawing people in if only to find out what the joke was. He'd seen her angry, but it was rare and usually over quickly. For the most part, his mother was a constant stream of upbeat conversation and one liners were cracked in the blink of an eye with a wide inviting smile. He didn't know who he was to be, but he hoped he got the best of both his parents.
