"I don't give a.."

Bullets rang out suddenly. A simple transaction gone bad in the blink of an eye. Rounds from a pair of Beretta 93R automatic pistols sprayed the room. Tables over turned, chairs shattered with the ensuing chaos. They reached for their guns, they reached for cover. All lost, just a little too late.

When the magazines went empty, they were simply ejected from the automatic pistols. New ammunition clips would find their way into the soul of the guns. Reloaded and raining forth their hail of fire and death. It wasn't long before the display of death was over. Blood played along the walls, the flooring and windows. Men and women had taken their last breath of life.

A lone man stood among the fallen. The pair of automatic pistols tucked under his leather jacket before a partly used cigar would be plucked from a pocket and set a flame. Eyes roamed over the carnage, the mess of blood and bodies. A smirk perked the killer's lips and a grand smile would follow before he'd step from the once great place of meeting and depart into the morning light.

The Wolf, was in town...

"I hate this place. Really I do."

Kent shook his head as he looked around the markets. The dark ork grumbled under his breath with a look over at Marek, who just perked a smirk as he removed the cigar from his lips. "Nuyen, Don't you smell it, Kent' Come on, it isn't so bad is it' I mean look around...it's just like Seattle back home, but instead of orks, trolls, dwarves and elves carrying guns, they're carrying swords and axes mostly around here. Sure they've got a few mages about but don't we have those back home too?" Marek gave a nod of his head over at the woman with them. Anna shook her head, but smiled. "You boys would be long gone, if it wasn't for me a time or two."

"When do I get to fry someone?" Dover looked over at the three with a bored expression. If anyone of the group looked the part of a Shadowrunner, it was Dover. Smart link for the heavy pistol he carried at his hip. His left arm replaced after a run gone bad years ago. Hair buzzed on the sides of his head, leaving the top and back to grow long. If he didn't speak mean by the way he looked, nobody did in this town.

"Let me head back to Seattle for a few. Talk with Goliath. If anything, I'll speak to Treena first and she can help me convince ole' G to do a few jobs here." Marek nodded over at Kent and Anna as he replaced the cigar back between his lips for a puff.

"And you are again?"

Marek had walked right into the middle of a conversation between so called businessmen. On his way over to their table he'd grabbed a chair and spun it around to sit down at their table with not a word spoken at first. Simply taking a puff from his cigar.

"Ahem, we are busy if you'd be so kind as to remove yourself from our table, now." Marek glanced to the man on his left and then the man on his right before he slid the cigar from his mouth and settled it into an empty water glass upon the table. "They call me, The Wolf." One of the businessmen smirked and chuckled as he looked to the other man across from him, before his gaze slid back at Marek. "What' Like the big bad wolf or something" You gonna blow my house down? It's not made out of sticks or anything I'm afraid to say buddy." Both men chuckled a bit, one of them lifting his glass of wine for a sip as Marek's eyes slowly moved from one to the other.

Suddenly Marek shot up from his chair, pulling a Fabrique Nationale or more commonly called an FN or Five-seveN pistol from below his leather jacket. The twenty round clip quickly started to loose rounds as he first neutralized both businessmen and then turned the weapon as that of it's ammunition, made for penetrating body armor, on that of their bodyguards. Holes riddled that of their heads, their chests. Blood spilled forth onto their clothing and soon even the flooring. When the clip went empty it was ejected and another fresh one produced and slid into place.

When all was said and done, Marek simply slid the pistol below his leather jacket, picked up his cigar and brushed it off. Replacing it between his lips before relighting it and simply walking out of the restaurant.

Marek rubbed a hand over his face, as he leaned back in the old rocking chair. The place he was staying was decent enough. Better yet, it was free. Paid to make friends apparently in this medieval city. He smirked as he gazed out the window at the night life. In truth, this place wasn't all that different from where he called home.

Dragons, Elves, Dwarves, Orks, Trolls all about here just like at home. Only major difference was here, they tended to carry swords and daggers more then back home where they carried guns of various shapes and sizes, calibers. Drek, even back home they had mages like he'd already seen and met here. Just the ones back home tended to wear less of the robes and early medieval clothing.

A light cloud of smoke escaped his lips as the cigar was slid away. With his free hand, he leaned over some from the old rocker and gave the large yellowish mastiff a firm rub behind an ear. "Don't you dare tell Kent, I let you have ale from that Inn. I remember how he gave Dover a hard time last time he shared a six pack with you." A firm pat to the dog's side, as the animal rolled over, tail sliding against the flooring lightly. "And no, we're not getting a side car on my bike. Sorry, not happening. You just keep being good and you get to ride in the car, but watch the seats next time will ya" That custom job was expensive."

He gave a light push of his foot and the rocker slid into a gentle motion. Replacing the cigar between his lips for a few light puffs as his mind wandered some. Lifting his right hand and glancing it over a moment, before as if on instinct, three hand blades shot out the back in a curving arch. He looked them over and then looked down at the dog. "What am I, Moose" Where does the cyberware end and the man begin anymore?" The large dog looked over at him, tail wagging tiredly against the flooring. "Maybe I shouldn't of had last filter system worked in eh' Least then I could still get drunk and fall asleep now and then. Hey, how about you read me a bed time story?" The dog tilted his head up at Marek and then rolled over back to his side. "Eh, you're right. Those things are too happy for my taste anyway. All right, I'll wake you if anything exciting happens before dawn, buddy."

A smirk over at the dog and the three handblades retracted back with in the back of Marek's hand. Turning his gaze out the window again as he lifted the cigar for his lips. "Just another night in hollywood..."

What is this world we live in" Death, decay, utter destruction. From this city back to Seattle it's all the same. Blood upon the streets. Death's whisper upon the air. The innocent cut down like paper dolls while the guilty run around free.

Marek's thoughts were anything but light and cheerful lately. The nearly empty bottle laid upon the table, glass half full. Reaching over he picked up the revolver and gave the cylinder a spin before cocking the hammer back and pointing the barrel at himself.

Click...

Marek glanced over the pistol and perked a smirk as he tossed the pistol over at the bed. He lowered a hand to the large mastiff laying beside his chair and stroked the dog's head. "Die another day, Moose. What do you say we find us some steak for dinner, hm?"

Moving through the markets, Marek glanced over his shoulder once, before pressing onwards toward a vendor selling fruits and vegetables. The man with the visible pair of suits, bodyguards, was inspecting an apple. A soft shift of the dark briefcase in Marek's hand. His fingers shifted against the handle of the briefcase, sliding his index and middle finger over a concealed trigger. A small dark hole laid near the top corner of the briefcase and with a soft press of the hidden trigger, the concealed MP5K submachine gun within the briefcase came to life. Spilling 9 mm rounds into the bodyguards before turning the weapon onto the target, onto the mark. With the concealed weapon on full auto, it didn't take long to leave a bloody mess before the vendor's cart. A quick turn and Marek was moving away from the scene as people dashed about, some shouting and yelling, unsure if they'd be next. Departing, just as cold as he had ventured forth, Marek moved off down the streets and away from the chaos. Away from the blood.

It would be nearly two hours later, before more blood would be shed in the city. The man had been sitting in a seedy joint near the docks, drinking an ale when Marek showed up behind him. The Remington 870 combat shotgun in hand. The bartender actually threw up, after watching the man's heart nearly burst out of his chest after being shot in the back at nearly point blank range. Gruesome perhaps, but the job was taken care of. The 'mark' had been retired.

Such at times, were the ways The Wolf, dealt with people. Back in Seattle, Marek ran the shadows with such a name. Some say he acquired the name from his look. Like that of a rogue, like that of a lone wolf. Some say the name comes from how brutal a wolf can be with it's prey. Others, at how cunning a wolf can be in the forest. The cities, were like his forests. He was the predator, out to 'clean' the prey he was hired for. Out to put down the 'marks' as they were sometimes called. Seattle was a mean place, an unforgiving place. You either learned how to survive, or you ended up on a slab at the morgue.

Weapons fire erupted from the far end of the bar, near the restrooms. A Heckler and Koch UMP-45 Submachine Gun, was cutting down several vampire thugs who'd been taking up booth. As the .45 caliber rounds penetrated their flesh, the high tech rounds were found to be rather deadly to the vampires. Killing them from the inside out with the mixture of ultraviolet flash, holy water and several other unknown compounds that made up the high tech rounds.

Vampires scattered within the seedy bar. Some ran to escape, while others tried to rush the attacking soul with the submachine gun. Only finding too late that the rounds to impale their bodies were anything but normal.

Boosted reflexes kicked in as one of the blood suckers tried to come up from behind him. Three hand blades sprung out from his left hand in a soft curve. His body moved in a fluid motion to spin back and sever the head from the fanged thug, while the submachine gun ran dry with it's last ammunition clip. The gun was promptly discarded to the floor at his side with a toss, reaching back below the leather jacket worn and pulling a Para Ordnance Colonel .45 caliber pistol and immediately sending the first two rounds, of the fifteen round clip into a vampire drawing near at his right. The high tech rounds disposed of the fanged creature as his eyes searched for any remaining blood suckers that might be crazy enough to still be around. The three hand blades retracted back below the skin, before he dug his hand into a pocket and tossed a small pouch of coins to the bartender. "Sorry for the mess."

On his way out he'd give pause to a vampire crawling away from a booth. A glance down at the thing, lowering the pistol and sending a round into it's heart. "Enjoy the worms, in the after life, fang face." Tucking the pistol back below his leather jacket and simply giving a nod over at the bartender before pushing out the door and into the morning light. "Mmm, gonna be a bright day."

"What'd you say?"

Three elves laid beaten on the floor of the tavern. One had definitely lost his dashing smile with the last punch to his jaw. Due to the surgeries, bone lacing, the punch was more like a brick being slammed into the elf's face. Marek gave a look down at one of the three, who's hand was moving a bit too close for his comfort to a dagger at his boot. Pulling the FN pistol from below his leather jacket and firing off a round into the elf's knee cap.

"Looks like dancing is one thing you'll be sitting out of in the future, chummer." As the elf growled and groaned in pain Marek simply lowered down at him and drove his fist into his face to send his head back into the floor boards. Lifting and turning his gaze over another elf as he narrowed his eyes. "Now, you were saying something about how you were better then me" How your some noble smarty pants with money from their daddy who's above the simple folk like me" Did I get that right' Or were you about to apologize for being just another inbred elf?"

"You will die a thousand deaths over! I will see to it your body is dragged behind a horse from this city to the next!" The elf spat blood at Marek's boots in defiance as he growled up at him from the floor by the other two. "Hm, wrong answer chummer." Marek lowered the gun and fired off a round into the elf's forehead, before turning it on his two friends and pumping a round into each's heart.

A nod over toward the bartender. "They called it, whole thing didn't have to happen. Three less snooty young elves to plague the city with their high and mighty banter now. Have a good night." Tucking the pistol below his leather jacket and moving for the door.

Marek glanced out the window as he eased back into the chair and drew his boots up onto the edge of the bed. A pierce of turkey jerky was pulled from a package and tossed into his mouth. A murmured bark from the bed and his gaze would turn that direction with a perked brow. The large Mastiff laid there with a tilt of his head at Marek. "Yeah...but it's turkey, bit healthy...watch out." Tossing a large chunk of jerky to the dog, who quickly snatched it up from the air with a small shift of his tail. Marek perked a smirk and glanced back out the window. "What do you think, Moose" This city worth saving or should it be left to fall into Hell?" The dog perked his tail some, shifting to lay to his side on the bed with a groan uttered and a stretch of legs out. Marek turned his gaze and chuckled with a nod. "Yeah, I know. It's far too early in the morning to get philosophical. You're right, we should get some sleep." Marek got up from the chair and pulled the curtains at the window closed best they'd go. Sliding onto the bed and laying back as he pushed a pair of pillows under his head. With a roll, the large dog moved closer and lowered his head on Marek's chest with a lazy flop of his tail against the bed. Marek's hand moved to rub behind an ear of the dog's. "Funny place ain't it' Reminds ya' of home hm' Orks, Dwarves, Trolls, Elves and Humans. Got magic and dragons even. Course, most we've bumped into here carry swords and knives and that of pistols and submachine guns. Nice change eh' Ah well, kill a few demons and vampires here and there bout the city. Make a little money. Take a few lazy days. Bit of the easy life compared to back home, hm' Reminds me, got more legit job to pull here and there for a bit. I'll show ya the boat later. No worries till we wake this afternoon right Moose? Sleep time..."

A drop of his leather jacket over the back of the chair. Eyes gave a glance out the window before closing the blinds. Moving over toward a chair and dropping back into it as his boots came up to rest on the edge of the bed. The large Mastiff dog in lay there lifted his head some at Marek, tongue licking at his muzzle. "Well...seems she has a couple of good jobs, Moose. Waitress is legal and seemed a decent place she was serving at. Not a rough and rowdy bar or anything like that. Working in a shipyard doing paperwork and the such is an honest way to make some money. Maybe she won't turn out like her old man hm, partner?" The mastiff turned his head a bit at the side and gave a tail wag against the sheets upon the bed. "Yeah, you're right. Sooner or later all comes full circle don't it' All right...all right...I'll start her training soon. She's young, plenty of room for knowledge and new skills."

The large mastiff slid to his side upon the bed with a groan and lazy tail wag against the bed in turn. Marek perked a smirk at the dog and nodded a bit. "Yeah, yeah. I know. Sleep time. All right, but tomorrow we'll continue our conversation about my daughter."

A hard crank of the wheel and a quick shift into reverse put the muscle car facing the limousine. Shattering the windshield as the MP-9 submachine gun was drawn up from the passengers seat. Sending a volley of rounds at the limo driver. The glass cracked. Bullet proof thought Marek immediately. A growl at his throat as he shifted the car into drive. Drawing his double barrel shotgun and firing off both barrels at the front tire as he buzzed by the driver's side of the vehicle. A swerve and impact with a parked car sent the limo into a spiral flip upon the air before landing upside down and skidding along the pavement. A magnificent display of sparks indeed.

The muscle car came around in a screeching of tires before drawing near and coming to a halt several feet away. Leaving the engine running as Marek opened the car door. A flip of the twelve gauge, sawed off double barrel in his hand to open it, the used shells ejecting as he dug his hand into his leather jacket and pulled a fresh pair out. Sliding a shell into each barrel before a flick of the weapon closed as the passenger door perked open and a man held with in a once fine business suit crawled free. Blood dripped from his forehead where he'd apparently smacked it on something during the rough end to his ride.

"Wait...just wait...wait...I say...I can pay you...I have money...wait.."

Both barrels, one right after the other rang out. Blood spit outward from the impact points to the man's chest, as he feel back with out hesitation from the kill shots.

Marek rolled his neck from side to side to work out a kink. Dropping the shotgun into the leather holster at his thigh with a shake of his head down at the man before turning back for the muscle car.

Sometimes you didn't choose your fate. Sometimes it chose you. Some would say he was merely an assassin on trips like these. But what do you call someone that's put on a mission by God, to thin the herd"

Would you still call them an Assassin" Or a Weapon of Fate?

"The planet's going to hell in a hand bag. This one wanting to take over, that one wanting this and that and here you sit telling me what to do."

The Elf chuckled as he shook his head at Marek. The gathered would be bodyguards gave a hesitant chuckle in turn with their boss. Marek drew a partly used cigar from his leather jacket. Striking a match upon the table and lighting. A puff taken, then a second before a tilt of his head back to allow a small perk of smoke to escape his lips.

"Elger, you're a business man. Business is business, except when you cross the line." "I have you out manned by twelve. It's a good fifty feet to the front door. Do you really think you could make it out of here alive, Marek?" "I've got something you don't, Elger." Marek glanced along the cigar and then eased it back between his lips for a quiet puff. "And what is that?" The cigar slid free of Marek's lips, his eyes following it as he turned it over in his fingertips as if examining it before smoke drifted from his lips. "God likes me, Elger. He likes how I send him evil souls to be dealt with beyond this hell hole of a world." Elger glanced to his men about them and chuckled, all be it a bit oddly. "You're mad, you know that Marek?" Perking a smirk, Marek turned back at Elger. "The crazy part about it all, Elger, is I'm not. You've given the last kid a hand out of drugs. Hooked your last teenager. Beat your last bed girl and prostitute. God was busy, Elger. He couldn't make the trip himself you see. He can't be everywhere at once. World's too big. So he asked me. He asked me late one night to help him clear the smoke and mirrors. Clear the sinners from the saints. Clean up the garbage. There's different levels of evil, Elger. There's a line you just don't cross beyond. Well chummer, you crossed that line a while back." Elger glanced aside to several of his men, then back at Marek with a narrowing of his eyes. "You're not Saint, Marek Kharune." Marek's lips turned into a smile as he set the cigar down into the ash tray upon the table. "I'm a Saint all right, Elger. Just not the kind you read about in stories at night before your momma puts you to sleep."

Sniper fire rang in through the store front window in rapid tone. As bodyguards started to drop like panties in a whore house at nine, Marek lifted from the table in a boost of reflexes. Pulling free a pair of beretta 93r automatic pistols and opening up on that of man and elf. When the pistols ran dry, they were dropped simply to the floor. Sliding free the sawed off double barrel shotgun from his thigh holster. The butt' used to bash a man's nose in, before the business end blew a nasty hole into his chest. Blood played over the flooring as twelve became nine. Nine became six. Six became four and then four became two. A drop of a shell into a chamber of the sawed off. Then a second before a flick of the weapon closed. Marek looked downward at the last bodyguard before a single shot perked through the broken window from a sniper rifle across the street. Ending his pathetic life via the back of his head. Marek's gaze turned toward Elger. scooting across the floor with a banged up knee cap and a hole in his right arm pumping blood outward onto a once fine suit of silk.

"And shepherds we shall be, for thee my Lord for thee. Power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command. We shall flow a river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be."

Two shots thundered out. Then all went quiet.

A hard crank of the wheel and the 1977 camero skidded into the turn slightly with a hiss of protest from the tires. Rapid turn of the wheel back and shift to send the car's engine roaring as speed picked up. One of the pursuing vehicles made itself know by a hard bump from behind. With another shift of gears, the camero had a burst of speed. Quite possibly even drawing faster then the rich make of the pursuing cars, had it not been for that woman stepping to cross the road.

A screech of tires and turn of the wheel brought the camero narrowing missing the woman. Good for her, bad for the camero. With the combined high speed and harsh turn the vehicle was lost and impacted with an oncoming hovercar from the other direction. Slowed down, it was actually quite the sight to behold. The first flip and the rolling spin upon the air before landing upon it's side and continuing in a rolling crash down the street another fifty-five feet until coming to a rest finally upside down.

There was a pause and then the passenger door of the camero perked open. Glass littered the ground as Marek crawled out with a grunt and groan, not to mention a few choice curses from his lips. A shake of his head as one of the pursuing vehicles barreled down the road at him. "Oh, not enough you ruin my car. Now you want me too eh?" Standing his ground as the car drew near, it wasn't till the last possible moment that Marek side stepped the vehicle as three hand blades slid out from the back of his left hand. Impacting the car and running it's side, both that of tire and metal gave way to the blades rated for severing bone. The poor car would find itself in loss of control and spin out into a lamp post. As the hand blades retracted back into his hand, Marek pulled a hand grenade from his leather jacket and with a pluck of the pin, tossed it for a rolling slide under the car. Turning toward the second car screeching to a halt several yards away from him as the grenade went live and sent quite the lovely explosion up through the former car behind him.

"Do you have any idea how hard it is to find parts in this realm for a classic car like the one you made me crash?" Reaching under his leather jacket and sliding free a pair of Beretta 93R automatic pistols. He didn't wait for the men to exit the second car before both pistols were let loose on the driver and front passenger's sitting behind the windshield. When the pistols ran dry in their rapid fire, they were simply dropped in his walk toward the car. The 12 gauge sawed off double barrel shotgun would find it's way into his left hand's grip. Pulled from the leather thigh holster and a loud shot rang out as the passenger behind the driver stepped from the car, only to find his chest opened up by the shotgun blast. The woman stepping out from the opposite side would feel the brunt of the second barrel before the glock pistol upon her hand could come to line up on Marek. A pop of the shotgun open, eject of shells as Marek dug into an outer pocket of his leather jacket and dropped two fresh shells into the weapon before a flick of it closed as he growled with a look around. "I really liked that car too. Drek-heads." The sawed off dropped into the thigh holster as he rubbed at his forehead and the blood dripping from there to the pavement below his boots. "Damn, I just had all my doctor bills paid off too." Marek dug a hand into his jeans pocket, pulling free what looked like a normal cell phone, but given this world it was quite more the sophisticated communicator. A flip of it open and tap of a key.

"Blue...come pick me up. I'm at Picard and Seventh Avenue in the Spaceport. No, don't ask why I need to be picked up just come and get me. A-sap."

A 1950's ford pick up truck, nicely restored, pulled up outside the burnt out warehouse in the business district. The window rolled down and smoke from a cigar perked outward as the blue skinned and rather buff looking, Gremlin peeked his head out. The stocking hat bounced with his head as he glanced about. "Where's the Camero?" Marek shoot his head as he moved around to the passenger side of the truck and slid in. "Blue, don't ask I said." Archimedes, aka, Blue, perked a grin as he chomped on the cigar between his lips, offering Marek a fresh one and a lighter tossed his way as well in turn before reaching to shift the truck into gear. "Bounty hunters eh' Lousy bunch. Or was it some corporate muscle suits coming after ya' from ticking somebody's boss off" Humans, what a pain in the tuckus." Marek lit the cigar between his lips and perked a smirk aside at the gremlin. "Yeah...we're a pain, aren't we?" Blue chuckled, an odd, kinda evil laugh as they pulled from the curb. "Banged anyone lately?" Blue was anything but straight forward and to the point. Perhaps that was one of the reasons why Marek liked him. He fit right in with the others Marek called friend. Rough, tough and could handle himself in a fight. Marek had seen Blue beat the crap out of four Elves once with nothing but his bare hands and well the wrench helped too. Not like most Gremlins, Archimedes or Blue, was ripped. Muscled from head to toe. With blue skin it was hard to miss the nearly four foot tall Gremlin. Blue had been helping to run weapon sales for a local Lord when Marek had met him. Given their appreciation for the finer things in life, mainly guns, the two hit off as buds. "No, not lately Blue. How about you chummer?" Marek slid the cigar from his lips, smoke poured free as his free hand lifted to dab a kleenex at his forehead, the blood had all but stopped. Blue slid a cd into the console of the truck, course given it was Blue's truck it was quite modified. As the song 'Pony' from Far came on, Blue nodded over at Marek and slid his own cigar from his rather sharp teeth. "Yeah, found a pair of Twi'leks at the Star's End Bar last sunday. They had big...well...you know. If you weren't busy with work that night I would of called ya. Had to shag them both myself." Marek perked a smirk as he chuckled. "You poor thing, Blue." "Yeah, they left me blue...with envy." "That's bad, Blue. Bad." "Yeah, but ya know it was good fun. Next time their in town I'll give ya a call if you're not working that night either. When do we get to do some damage again together anyhow?" Marek flicked a bit of ash from his cigar out the window. "Soon chummer, soon. Got a few things lined up actually. Want in on them?" Blue perked a Cheshire grin. "Does a dragon crap in the woods?"

Marek spun the guitar out in his hand and then settled it beside him against the chair. Dover, who was indeed a credit to the modern marvel of the technology of their world, reached out with his right hand. The one that was still human and gave Marek a quick high five salute before running that cyborg hand of his through his buzzed locks of hair. "Rock'n my man, simply rock'n. Hey, you need to bring Blue by soon. We need a party or somethin' my man." Kent looked over from his cleaning of a sniper rifle by a table of oak making. The Ork flicked a long slender ear as he unzipped his camouflage jacket. "I'm not sure I really want to see the three of you all together again. The last time the three of you got together was at Dante's in Seattle. If you recall, by the time you were done with your little 'party' there were Lonestar cops filing into the joint and several bruised and beaten bodies on the second level." "Yeah." Smirked Dover over at Kent. "That was a good time." Goliath, and indeed that was a perfect name for the large Troll, moved into the room from the bedroom down the hallway. A quick zip of his jeans and fasten of his belt while moving to snag a bottle of ale from the fridge. Using one of his horns to prick the cap free as he gave a roll of his broad shoulders then. "Geezus Goliath...you finally give Treena a break in there?" Chuckled Dover. "Yeah. Gotta let the girl sleep sometime. When you getting a girl Dover?" "Psft....I've got a girl." "Yes, he does. In just about every state back home." Commented Kent as he set the sniper rifle down upon the table before him after finishing reassembling it. Marek gave a smirk and laughed a bit, giving Kent a thumbs up. "Nice one, chummer." "Christ Marek, you gonna ever hook up with one again?" Poked Goliath as he drank down half of his bottle. "We'll see what time holds for me. Live for today, right?" "Yeah, live for today cause tomorrow's gonna hurt like being frisked by a dragon in heat." Tossed out Dover as he leaned back in his chair. "Dover, you unique wording is at times a bit, crude." Nodded Kent as he took up his glass of wine. "Ya' wouldn't want me any other way." Smirked Dover. Marek shook his head, course with a smirk at his lips. "The shipment of 'blues' from the Kerbero Corporation should arrive this week. After it arrives, we'll get back to taking out some vampire suck' heads." "I love how they just kinda start scream'n when hit by those rounds. All like...ah...ah...AHHHH WHAT THE..."!"!" Dover started to laugh with his comment. Indeed the unique rounds were quite lethal to the things that go bump in the night. "Leave it to a Demon to create something to take out other creatures of the night." Spoke Kent as he reached for the bottle of Elven wine on the table to refill his glass. "Far as the regular ammunition is concerned, it'll be delivered by the end of the day. And please, try not to use the more expensive 'blue' rounds unless you're taking down a vampire, demon or something close to it' Those rounds are expensive, use the regular rounds please." "Not like we're hurting for cash, but I'll try." Smirked Dover as he crushed a beer can with his cyborg hand. "Goliath is right chummer, you need a date." Nodded Dover over at Marek. "No, I don't." "Yeah you do. Like when's the last time you got laid bro?" "Dover, I don't need a..." "Yes you do need a girl I think. Give you someone to relax with sometimes in between work." Commented Kent as he flicked a slender ear and lifted his wine glass for a drink. "Kent, don't side with Dover that's just creepy chummer." Goliath chuckled and shook his head."Oh come on, Marek. What would it hurt for you to have a girl more stable then the ones in your little black book for booty calls?" "Keeps things simple, big guy. I hate complicated things." Marek shook his head and reached for his dark ale again. "It's been a while since ya' had something more stable...just give it a try with a gal and if it don't work...well...least maybe the sex was good hopefully or ya' stay friends with benefits?" Grinned Dover over at Marek. "We'll see amigos." Nodded Marek. "We'll see what life wants to toss my direction all right' Until then, we've got a Warlord's death to plan."

"Destroy all that which is evil, so that which is good may flourish..."

Eastern Island of Delgorga. Triremes launch port. Warlord Zukuz' Antari's speech to his five thousand troops preparing to depart.

"And that is why I say to you it is your right, by birth to take what is surely due. We were not born to be carpenters, or farmers. We were born as warriors, soldiers! It is by our birthright that we take what is ours to have! We will strike deep into the main coast. We will plunder their riches, their women! We will feast upon their livestock and drink hearty of their ales and wine! We will strike fear into them! We will conquer their lands, their lives and their dreams! We will show the world that there is reason to fear that which is from across the sea! We will..."

Zukuz' gave pause at a curious sound hovering over the tree line of the beach. Litterally. "What in the.."

Three AH-6, 'little bird' helicopters popped up over the tree line. As the thousands of troops stood dumbfounded on the beach at the technological marvel upon the sky, they made for fish in a barrel as the saying goes. A rain of mini-gun fire cut into the lines of soldiers. The 7.62 ammunition cutting them down like blades of grass upon a tractor's clean cut of a lawn. Rocket pods let loose upon the defenseless triremes set in a row at the docks. Swords and spears, meant nothing against the fire power of the small maneuverable attack helicopters. Buzzing along the shoreline, row after row of fleeing soldiers were laid to their final resting place.

Zukuz' grabbed up a large crossbow as he growled. Looking over his once magnificent army now laying in ruin. Fleeing into the tree line while so many laid dead or bleeding upon the beach. As one of the helicopters came about quick and moved upwards along the beach barely two feet off the ground, he lowered to a knee and aimed the large crossbow. "Come to thy' spawn of hell...I welcome thy death unto' this life....I spit at thee'!"

As twin mini-guns opened fire upon the Warlord's position, a single steel tipped arrow was let free into the air. The Warlord's last sight was that of the small helicopter sweeping over him and darting upwards into the air.

"I curse' ith the'..."

WestEnd. Closing Time...

A press through the door and out of the cold air. Moving across the flooring toward the bar with that unique coffin shaped guitar case in hand. Marek gave a glance about the dimly lit establishment, if it could be called such. The stench of bad booze, bad breath and bad hygiene. Settling the guitar case on top of the bar and proceeding to tap the digital lock with a fingertip as the bartender started in walk his way with a wave of his bar towel and glass in hand. "No...no...we're closing. No music now. Go on..."

A soft click and the latches released upon the guitar case. Slowly the lid was lifted as a rather muscled, blue gremlin walked into the dive of a bar. A cigar spit from his rather razor like teeth as he looked around, left to right and back again with a big grin. "I like this place, let's burn it." Before the bartender could retort, Marek spun on the heel of his boot and tossed the buff gremlin a mossberg cruiser shotgun. A pair of MP9 submachine guns in turn were pulled from the guitar case. 'Blue' started in on a patron with the business end of his shotgun, sending the bright eyed man backwards into a tumble from his chair as blood splattered the patron next to his former card partner. Marek spun around in a quick twist, casting a spray of bullets into stunned patrons. Some tried to duck and cover, while others moved to pull pistols.

When the submachine guns ran dry of ammunition, they were dropped and Marek's hands dug into the coffin shaped guitar case once more. Pulling free a pair of beretta 93R auto pistols. Between the spray of 9mm ammunition and 12 gauge fire, it truly was a brilliant display of death. Some painted their master pieces with that of a brush stroke of paint. Some artists painted with bullets and blood.

When Blue's shotgun ran dry of shells, he leapt onto a table and then jumped at a fleeing man. A few good whacks with the butt' end of the shotgun to drop the man to the ground. "Die...die die Diediedie!!!" With each whack of the shotgun, more blood oozed from the man's head. Groans and grumbles here and there about the bar. Silenced by a Five-seveN pistol ringing out as a round was placed into each groaning mans chest and head. Execution style. Not a man to be left standing. Not a man to be left alive. Not this night.

As quietly as it was opened, the coffin shaped guitar case was eased closed once more with a quiet double click. Sliding it free of the bar, Marek turned to head for the door as Blue dropped the bashed up and quite bloody shotgun. A fresh cigar offered down at the gremblin as Marek gave a soft nod of his head and stepped out into the night with his friend.

"And shepherds we shall be...for thee my Lord...for thee..." Whispered Marek as Blue offered up a lit match for him to use in lighting his cigar to life.

"So this is it?"

Marek gave a slow nod of his head across the table to the vampire sitting there. "I knew someday this would come to pass. I merely thought I'd perhaps live another hundred years or two. Perhaps even have a third wife before my time came to an end, Mr. Kharune." "Understandable." Nodded Marek again, as he lit the cinnamon cigar between his lips. A couple puffs taken, before the cigar was eased from his lips. "When you've been through a lot, you start to believe you're gonna make it for the long haul. The days flow into weeks. The weeks into months and the months into years. Before you know it, you've lived longer then most...if not all of your friends." The vampire gave a slight nod to this. "True. Tell me Mr. Kharune, have you ever loved?" Marek perked a smirk as he flicked some cigar ash over the side of the table. "Yeah. A few times I think. Never worked out in the end though. Was even married once and long ago. Little girl too. Worked a lawful job even. Things happened though. A good life lost in a split second. A few women in the years after. But none that stayed." The vampire nodded slowly as he lowered his wine glass to the table. "I see. I was in love too once. She wasn't my first, or my second wife even. She was a young beauty, maybe nineteen years of age. Of a time long ago as well. A time before I became what you see before you now, Mr. Kharune. She was a dark haired beauty indeed. Young, innocent as I was back then. But as in your experience, it didn't last. Killed by bandits that wanted more then money one night." "Sorry for your loss." Commented Marek. "Thank you, Mr. Kharune. Do you believe in a God, Mr. Kharune?" Marek gave a flick of cigar ash over the side of the table once more. "Yeah, unfortunately." The vampire nodded with a brief smile. "Perhaps I'll see of that dark haired beauty again." "Perhaps." "I've been quite the evil sort since those days of long ago, Mr. Kharune. The ride has to end somewhere though, doesn't it?" Marek perked a sad smile. "Yeah, it always does. Sooner or later." "Do me a favor, Mr. Kharune?" Marek nodded slowly toward the vampire. "Pray for me."

In the blink of an eye, a Para Ordnance Colonel .45 caliber pistol was pulled from a holster at his back. The clip' held fourteen rounds, though only one would be needed. Ammunition he'd used for things of Myth and Legend before. Ammunition from the Kerbero Corporation. A special mixture indeed to create the unique rounds. As a single shot rang out, the vampire slumped forward onto the table. No flash of light. No brilliant puff of ash. He was simply dead.

Marek got up from the table. Sliding the pistol under his leather jacket as he moved for the door. The cigar slid back between his lips. A mutter of words around the cinnamon smoke escaping his lips. A quiet prayer for a lost soul.

"Do you realize how annoying you even are?"

Marek shook his head as he stepped toward the vampire crawling upon the ground. "I mean seriously. What makes you any different from a leech' Honestly' You suck blood, yes, but you also kill. So technically, that makes you worse then a leech doesn't it, fang boy?" The vampire spit blood at Marek's approach and growled. "We are stronger...better...we should be Gods over the mortals. Sheep they are. All of them!" Marek shook his head as he drew with in a couple steps of the vampire. "Sheep" Not all are as easily killed as others. And if it is sheep you seek, you've only found a Shepherd here." The para ordnance colonel .45 caliber was leveled on the vampire. "Welcome to the new world. The one where weapons have caught up with your kind." A single shot rang out from the .45. Upon impact to the vampire his flesh started to burn from the inside out, due to the ultra violet rays from the unique bullet. Tucking the pistol under his leather jacket and giving one last shake of his head at the rotted burnt up corpse before him on the ground. "Ashes to ashes...dust to dust."

Irritated, Frustrated and Annoyed.

To think he left Seattle back on his home world sometimes to come to this one. Everything's the same here. Except more carry swords then they do guns like back home. Still scum. Still wannabe killers and thugs. Still the egotistical and the worthless. Was this city really that different from the one back home" In a word, no.

"What a world."

"I hate it when people chew loudly. They chew and chew and make so much noise with each bite. Slapping their lips together. Like a horse. I hate it when the rich think that because they are so wealthy, they are above the law. Above the common man. That they live above our standards. I hate a lot of things in life. I have a lot of pet peeves I guess you could say. Does that make me a bad man' A bad person' Does it mean I'm less of a human being" You can't pay me off. I have money. You can't poison me. I have what?s considered modern tech back on my world, inside of me. You can run, but you'll only die tired."

Marek slid the hammer back upon the Beretta 93R auto pistol. Designed custom of course, like so many of his guns. Set to single rate of fire, rather then auto double round burst. Twenty round clip, yet one didn't need twenty bullets to end a life did they'

"You know, it's nice to wack a mortal once in a while. The special ammunition I get for vampires, demons and the like costs a pretty penny, chummer."

"She's alive!"

"Yeah...she is chummer. But rape is rape."

"I was drunk...I didn't know what I was doing...you can't hold me.."

"Responsible" Yeah, I can. You crossed the line from small tricks to the darker side of life. Sure, the woman will live from being brutally raped by you in your stupidity and ignorance, but she'll have that memory for many years to come. Don't worry though. You'll have this memory for a few seconds only."

The beretta pistol was leveled and a single shot rang out in the early morning streets near the markets. Marek simply walked away from the body. Tucking the pistol under his leather jacket as he stepped off down the street for West End.

"And shepherds we shall be, for thee my Lord for thee. Power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command. We shall flow a river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be."

"When we reach the city's shores we will ravage their docks! We will take of their women! We will plunder their homes and all they hold!"

Shouting to the cheers of the men onboard the galleon, the Captain motioned to the crows nest so that they could signal the other three ships of the small fleet. The wind was with their sails. Their cannons at the ready. Sword and flintlock pistol sharp and loaded. Content on taking what they believed to be theirs.

They didn't pay much attention to the simple looking and by comparison, tiny fishing boats they were coming across four miles off shore. Marek shifted the nets from his lap. The cinnamon scented cigar between his lips puffed upon as he reached over to flick a signal switch on a small communication device. The half dozen tiny fishing boats gave pause to tending to their nets in the waters. Blankets were shoved aside and rocket launchers were taken up. A quick aim and rockets howled off at the galleons. Explosions tore holes into the vessels near the water line. Sinking was quick to come soon after. Men shouting and yelling as they entered the water.

The water that by the 'fishing boats' had been filled with chum and blood to attract sharks.

A few would try to climb aboard life boats, but a single rocket propelled into their side ended such possibilities of escape of the water.

Marek lowered an empty launcher to the boat, sliding his cigar free of his lips with a smirk perking. "Ash to ash...dust to dust."

"Clip." Came the nearly three foot tall bluish gremlin known as Archimedes. Or as some called him, Blue. Marek tossed over a clip from the driver's seat before reaching down to shift again as the restored 1969 camaro ss tore down the road. Blue slid the new twenty round magazine into the Five-seven pistol and hung then out the window to open fire on the pursuing van. "What else ya got I can throw at those drekheads?" Another five shots rang out from the gun in Blue's hand. Muscled shifted along his ripped form. Short, yes, muscled and fit, definitely was the gremlin. His stocking white hat flicked in the wind as Marek reached back after another shift of gears and pulled a mossberg cruiser shotgun from the back seat. "Here, try this." Emptying the pistol, Blue dropped it on the floor by his boots before snagging up the shotgun and pausing a moment. "It loaded?" Marek glanced aside to Blue with a raised brow. "Who do you think you're riding with chummer?" Blue smirked and poked half his frame out the window. A thunderous shot rang out as the shotgun was let loose on the van behind them. Three more blasts were let loose before Blue cursed. "They get you?" Asked Marek as down shifted into a turn. Blue slid back into the passengers seat after emptying the shotgun with another two shots rang out. "No! I lost my god damn cigar!" Marek chuckled and shook his head. The back window shattered suddenly as sedan pulled infront of the van behind them and a man on the driver's side let loose with a MP5 submachine gun. Marek grumbled. "I just detailed this car, damn it. Blue, check the case in the back seat." Blue dove into the back and flicked the leather case open with a grin perking his lips. "Oh hell yes!" Pulling a pair of MP-9's free and immediately letting loose with the automatic submachine guns. "Muhahahahha!" 9mm ammunition peppered the sedans windshield until blood spat onto the window from impact of bodies seated in the front of the car. At the next turn, the sedan went into a hotdog vendor's cart and flipped into a brilliant spectacle in the air to impact into a store front. "Damnnnnnnnnn....that was awesome!" Shouted Blue as he was grinning ear to ear nearly. "Van still back there?" Inquired Marek. "Yup." Nodded Blue from the back seat. "Grenades." Marek tossed what looked like a square compact disc case to Blue in the back seat. Blue opened the case and smirked, pulled two out. "Did I mention how awesome it is to hang out with you?" A pull of the pin from both grenades and Blue gave his best baseball pitch, not at the van but just ahead of it. The first explosion caused the van driver to swerve to the right, which in turn lead him directly into the second grenade as it exploded and flipped the van over twice before coming to a rest hard on it's side.

"We clear?" Asked Marek. "Yup." Responded Blue as he slipped up into the passenger seat. "So, you wanna catch a movie and some grub?" Asked Blue as he opened the glove box before him and pulled free a pair of cinnamon scented cigars. "Let's change cars first." Smirked Marek.

"We will seek out! We will convert those unworthy! We will drive a path through this hour of misfortune and unguided leadership! We shall rise up and take that which is ours! We will show them what real rulers are! We will kill those of lesser value and in turn build on the strong, not that of the weak. The weak shall perish. The strong shall in'..."

The speaker paused suddenly as a hole appeared in his forehead from the bullet just entering and then just as quickly exiting through the back of his skull. Brain matter splattered on those standing near. Nine hundred and fifty-two yards away laid Marek a top a building. The sniper rifle lowered aside gently as he lifted a detonator in hand.

"Ash to ash...dust to dust.."

With a click, the mob was cast into the arms of death as explosions rippled through the streets around them. Technology was a fun thing at times.

"We will turn others to our cause! We will take back the night as it belongs to us! We will embrace our..." The Vampire suddenly paused as the door bell rang.

"Pizza!"

A blink from the clan leader at those gathered, growling as he tapped a fingertip to the table before him. "Who..ordered a damn Pizza!"!?" The door bell rang again. "Pizza here! Hot and fresh!" "Oh good god! Somebody answer the damn door already and let's get on with the meeting!"

A brute of a vampire moved for the door and after unlatching it slid it open to peer outside. "We didn't order any stinking pizza, get lost or get torn to pieces punk." The man outside smiled. "You first."

A HK-UMP submachine gun slid into view as the stock was locked into place. The thirty round magazine started to go to work as the trigger was pulled. The speical ammunition made for 'things that go bump in the night' flew forth in an eruption of fire from the weapon. The special combination of garlic, ultraviolet, holy water, silver and several other components...gave the rounds quite the deadly affect. As vampires dropped like flies in the sun, Marek was speaking with each step forward into the room at the retreating vamps.

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."

As the submachine gun ran dry of the special ammunition, Marek pulled free from a pair of holsters at his thighs twin Para Ordnance Colonel .45 calibers. Carrying the same ammunition, Marek wasted no time in continuing his 'cleaning' of the room. As one pistol ran empty, it was dropped as three hand blades slid out from the back of his left hand in an arch. Fluid in motion and with the aid of boosted reflexes, a drop and spin would effectively slice of a vampire's arm free of the shoulder. As the second pistol was found to run empty as well, three hand blades slid free from his right hand.

With the boosted reflexes, that vampire quickness became more evenly matched. Yay for technology and Marek's homeworld. Slicing and dicing the remaining vampires as they shot forth for him. An arm severed here, a leg there and a head or two...or three in turn would fall to the flooring.

"And shepherds we shall be, for Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand. That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In nomine Patri. Et Fili. Spiritus Sancti."

Taking out a hanky, Marek cleaned the blood and flesh from the blades before just as quick, they'd retract back into his hands. As he turned to leave, a small device was left on the table. Once he was a block away, an explosion would ripple through the building and flames ate of the remains.

The shotgun went off again. Effectively blowing out the man's other knee as he rolled in pain upon the floor. His own blood soaking up the carpeting.

"We can find you. We can kill you!"

Marek shoot his head down at the man crawling on the floor in his own pooling blood. "Find me" You and others like you don't have to find me. I'll find you. I don't care about your lives. I don't care about your pathetic cries for help. I don't care who you are in life. If you've crossed that thin line" I'll find you. I'll serve justice where others are afraid to go. I don't have the moral conundrums that so many seem to have when it comes to killing those that deserve it. You're scum. You're wasted space. You're not worth two squirts from a goose's ass. You prey on the weak. You harm the innocent. You think you can get away with it. For what? Money' Power" You make me sick. All of your kind. Don't matter who you are. Human, Vampire, Demon, or other. You harm the innocent. You will all get to know me sooner or later. I'll cut you down, shoot you up and burn you from existence."

"Who are you? Some kind of self proclaimed god or something man?"

"No. I'm no God. But he does have my number. And he left me a message about you. About the sick things you've been doing. About the girls you've broke. About the drugs you've sold. About the innocents you've destroyed."

"What the hell you talking about man!"!? There is no such thing as god!"

"Unfortunately for your sake, there is. But he's not here tonight. Just his vengeance."

The shotgun rang out again. Center mass. Ripping up the man's chest with the close contact hit. Marek laid the shotgun over a shoulder, shaking his head at the new corpse. Turning he stepped out of the home and into the street.

"Ash to ash, dust to dust."

"I miss the way things used to be. Calm, quiet and peaceful." Marek gave a sigh as he sat back in the couch with a shift of the phone to his right ear.

"Aye. I miss dem' days of old too, Marek. The world give'ith and the world take'ith away. All in dey' blink of an eye. Ye' simply have ta' pick up wit' what life has left ye' with and move forward."

"Yeah, I guess. Seems I'm doing what I was born for."

"We all have our callin' lad. Everyone and everything has a purpose. Some are born wit' dey' gift ta' take life. Fer' some of us it comes with little thought. With nae' any emotion or bad dreams there after."

"I know a few I think can call friends here. A few maybe even close ones."

"Tis' good ta' have friends. Even if ye' only have just enough ta' count on one hand, it's enough if they're truly friends, lad. I got yer little friend, Blue I think his name be, letter the other day. Said ye' were a bit down on yerself though I nae know why. You're do'in what God needs ye' too. Be it regular or some fancy ammunition for them things dat' go bump in dey' night. Not everyone believes in God. Ye' just remember, he believes in you and what you must do."

"I miss my mother. Been too many years to count, but miss her. I'll talk to you again alright?"

"Aye." Came the voice on the other end. The man with the gray beard stood from the chair and pulled his long coat around himself as he moved for the ship being boarded by passengers. "I'll see ye' soon, son."

"You walk into a room full of Demons and you think you're going to just walk away?"

Marek nodded back at Therm. "Yeah, I kinda think I will. I bet you I can make all your lives painful without using a special blade or any techno' enhanced bullets either." Therm glanced over his shoulder at several other demons who where chuckling in their human encased forms. Looking back at Marek with a smirk at his lips. "You really are something, Marek. You think you don't have to answer to anyone don't you? You think you can just do whatever you want and there's no price to pay." Marek shook his head slowly. "Always a price. Not everyone likes the price they have to pay but that's life. So I'll ask again. You boys wanna just try to slip back to Hell by yourselves or do I have to help you pack your bags for the trip?"

"You're arrogant, Marek. Arrogant, vengeful, stupid and chaotic." Marek lifted a hand and held up a finger as he ticked off the names one by one. "Yeah, yes, not really and probably. But back to you guys, you gonna go or do I have to send you?" "You ain't no Angel, just a punk with some gadgets!" Shouted a demon to Marek's left. Marek waved a hand at the demon. "You should really try brushing your teeth when masking yourself in human form you know" I mean, damn man, talk about stank breath. I bet since leaving Hell you haven't been laid once right?" Marek tucked a hand into his jeans pocket and worked out a small tin. "Tick-tac" It's peppermint?" "Screw you!" Shouted the demon.

"Fine. But don't blame me for your lack of booty." Therm growled. "Enough! I say we simply tear you apart, Marek." Marek held up a finger at Therm. "Can I have a minute?" He moved over and pulled a chair out from a table. Proceeding then to stand on it and slid his lighter free from his leather jacket. Therm laughed. "Going to have a last smoke, Marek?" "Not exactly, Therm." Spoke Marek as the lighter came to life and he lifted it upwards into the air, right below a heat sensor. "You guys stink, how about a bath to wash those sins right out of your skins?"

Therm laughed as did several other demons as the sprinkler system came to life. Water poured out over them all. After a moment though, the laughter paused sharply and screams perked forth about the room. Flesh started to burn off of the demons as they dropped to the flooring.

"I might of tampered with the water system in the building here. You boys have any idea how hard it is to Bless large amounts of water?" Therm growled as he lay on the floor. His human flesh peeling away with burn like marks playing over his face and arms. "You! You damn..! You.." Marek nodded as he got down from the chair, water dripping off his leather jacket. "Yeah, Holy Water sucks don't it' Listen, it's been nice chatting with you but enjoy the trip back down south okay' Oh and don't come back. Next time I'll lock you away in a mirror for the rest of eternity."

Marek impacted the wall so hard it left an indent. A groan perked his lips as he slowly moved to get up off the flooring of the warehouse. "You know, that really hurt." The demon, standing all fifteen feet high growled downward at Marek. Grabbing a support beam and tearing it free to toss at him. A quick duck and shift to the side with boosted reflexes saved Marek a headache. Literally.

"You're starting to piss me off, big tall and ugly." The beast swung it's head in low, trying to bite Marek in the face or shoulder. A quick reflex of his hand from his leather jacket would impact with the side of the demon's face. Sending him stumbling back several steps. Marek perked a smirk as he shifted the brass knuckles in his hand with holy inscription all over it. "Hurts don't it' You deserve it gruesome. You ate my forty-five pistol, you bastard. You have any idea how long it took me to custom that thing just right?"

Marek drew the Blessed Templar Sword from the scabbard at his back. "Now, be a nice demon and just friggen die already. I'm late for my part time job, numb nuts." As the beast charged, Marek put his boosted reflexes to work again. Indeed a perk from his home world's technology. A quick dodge and shift of step as he brought the sword upwards and then downward in turn to sever the right forearm of the demon with a blood curdling scream from the creature.

As the beast charged him again, he prepared with the sword for another attempt to sever a limb and in turn slow the creature down. But this time the demon leapt upwards at the last second and into the rafters above Marek. "Okay, not fair." Grumbled Marek as he looked upwards at the beast growling at him. He gave a whistle and a pat at his side, as if calling a dog to him. "Here boy...come here. Come let the Rev' deliver you from evil and all that jazz."

The demon tore a section of the ceiling free with it's teeth and one handed tossed it downward at Marek. As Marek stepped to the side, the beast suddenly leapt downward and using it's tail knocked Marek into a support beam as he was busy avoiding the falling debris. The Templar's Sword went skidding along the concrete flooring several paces away. A shake of his head as Marek shifted upwards against the bent beam. Catching claws to his leather jacket and being lifted into the air as the demon growled lowly at him as it snarled, showing rows of teeth.

"I just had this leather jacket fitted you piece of...oh for the love of...forget this. Not I'm really ticked off ugly." Three hand blades shot out and curved over Marek's hands. A common item to have installed back on his world. Given the closeness the creature had lifted Marek into, it was a quick slash to first cut of the creature's arm and then at the same time nearly it's head with his other hand's blades.

As Marek was dropped by the loose limb, he rolled out to the side and popped up to give a good one two punch with the hand blades but found the beast laying upon the hard flooring of the warehouse. A thick dark blood oozed from where it's head once laid atop it's neck. The hand blades retracted into Marek's hands as he stepped closer, digging a hand into an inside pocket of his leather jacket to work out a scented cigar.

Partly used already, he patted himself down for a match and once found struck it up. Lighting the cinnamon scented cigar with a few puff before a flick of the match to the ground to step on. Taking out a small plastic bottle and proceeding to pour the holy water over the carcass. Three puffs taken from the scented cigar before it was tossed to the demon's form. Instantly igniting the holy water and setting the beast aflame.

A few minutes later, the quick burning carcass had been turned to nothing more then a deep black ash.

"So, let me get this straight." The roughly three foot tall blue gremlin shifted the scented cigar between his teeth as the white stocking cap slid over a muscled shoulder. "You bought a bar?" Marek shook his head as he removed the top to the second smirnoff blueberry lemonade bottle and handed it off to Blue. "No, I paid into a partnership for a bar. It's called The Grumpy Gator Bar and Grill. Southern food and other things, drinks and it's right here on this planet. Not on my home planet. The main guy is a decent sort, needs maybe a little help with women but he's a good soul kinda guy." Blue slid his cigar out of his mouth and took a drink before glancing back at Marek. "Can I come by anytime I want?" "Yes." "Can I drink for nothing?" "Yes, Blue." "Is there any hot chicks that come to this bar?" "Yes, there is." "Sweet, I'm in."

"Just leave the one gal, Callie." "Why?" "Cause she reminds me of my daughter, around the same age and such." "Oooohhh. Mmm...okay. I'll leave that one alone. Hey, I'm sorry about the sixty-nine camero." Marek nodded with a forced smile. "Comes with the job, Blue. I just wish she hadn't rolled that many times. She might of been salvageable." "Yeah...and if she didn't have that many bullet holes in her exterior. Not to mention the engine. That kinda really killed her." Marek gave Blue a pat on the back. "The chevelle refit you did looks nice. Nineteen-seventy right?" Blue gave a nod with a slow perking grin. "Yup! Tweaked her engine to give you some more horsepower and make her quicker off the line. But that's not why I called ya' to come by, amigo." Blue moved along the warehouse in his boots toward the back. Marek perked a brow and proceeded after him in step.

When Marek moved through the doorway of a dividing wall his lips perked into a slow grin.

"You like her?" Blue inquired as he moved along side the heavily modified dodge ram. "I put a big steel ram on the front to push anything out of the way. She's got an armored hull and the wheels have steel plates to protect them. On the hood I mounted four browning machine guns. Along each side mounted at the back is a vulcan gatling gun. And just in case that's not enough to keep the road clear ahead of you, I mounted six RPG-7 rocket launchers to the roof. All the weapons are linked to a control console inside the truck that you or the passenger can utilize. She's been converted for fuel cells so she'll go farther and longer then she ever would of on gasoline. She's got a winch in front and back, a satellite link up to the computer and even a couple adjustable cup holders. A few special surprises I packed in her as well."

"Blue, it's a four by four from Hell." "You like it?" Asked Blue. "I love it." Said Marek.

Blue perked a grin and reached into a pocket on his overalls. Pulling out a pair of keys and tossing them to Marek, who caught them quick with his boosted reflexes. "Blue, you're an Angel gifted to fix things." Blue nodded as he leaned against the beast of a truck. "Hey, when you're good, you're good. I've got a second truck in the works crafted to my liking. In the mean time I've got something similar to this but in a down sized car version. Hey, a gremlin's gotta get around right?" Marek grinned and gave a nod. Tossing the bottle in his hand over a shoulder as he moved for the truck.

"Let's go for a ride."

Marek eased the black and white Indian trike motorcycle into a pause near the bar. Sliding off the bike and giving a look up and down the street. Unzipping his leather jacket and for a moment laying his left hand to the sawed off double barrel held to the leather holster at his thigh. A smirk perked his lips before he slid his hand away and moved to push on into the Lycan bar.

A man with sunglasses on moved to greet him. A wicked scar ran the right side of the man's face. "You know we only allow the best of the best in here." Spoke the man as he drew near Marek. "Yeah' Why the hell they let you in then?" Perked Marek with a smile. The two gave each other a warm hug as they chuckled some. "You look like hell, Tommy. Things that good for the gang?" Tommy grinned and slid his sunglasses off his eyes to fold and tuck into a pocket of his leather vest. "Some days are worse then others. Bit of trouble lately about. I'll let the Prez' tell you on that though. He's in back if you wanna catch him. You owe me a drink remember." Tommy gave a pat to Marek's back as he moved for the bar. Marek smirked. "As I recall, you still owe me a drink for the last time I helped you out."

"In this part of town for a few?" Spoke a man moving for Marek offering a hand. Marek took the hand in a firm shake before releasing. "Alex, been a while. Things all right?" Alex gave a light nod. "Vampire biker gang in the area is stirring trouble. You know how it is. Old rivals and all. Their new prez' Luis is hell bent on owning the streets around this part of town. Even though the Lycan bikers have held them for the past twenty years. Got some new vamp helping him. Filling his head with ideas it seems. Do this, do that and forget about what happens cause of it. I've got to go check on a shipment coming into the docks. Being the Sergeant at Arms keeps me busy these days. You take care and I'll catch up with you soon." Another firm handshake between the two before Alex moved off and Marek glanced over the other bikers about before moving for the back.

Pushing past a pair of bat wings and into the back office with a slow smile at his lips as he caught Lucious and Helen. "You two gonna kiss all morning or you gonna get some work done?" Helen smiled over at Marek as she slid from Lucious lap and into her own chair. "Hey, Marek. Long time no see." Lucious grinned with a laugh as he slapped his knee. "Hell, look who's come to pay us a visit. Demons and what not haven't got you yet I see." Marek gave them a nod with a smirk perking his beard. "Naw, ain't got me yet. I guess I'm just too stubborn to die is all. How's your son?" Lucious smirked and gave a nod. "Patrick's all right. Found himself a pretty human gal. Amanda is her name. He's kept busy with her lately." "She know what he is?" Inquired Marek. Helen gave him a smile and a nod. "Yeah, she knows. Guess us plane human girls are just smitten with the big bad wolf type." She gave a wink over at Lucious, who chuckled. "Like father like son as they say, Marek. You know I sure could use a few thousand rounds of those UV bullets you use, Marek. Help me clean up this recent Vampire mess going on." Marek gave a light nod. "Yeah, I heard when came in. New prez of their biker gang has some visions of command and conquer or something like that." Lucious nodded. "It's this John. He's an older sort. Honestly I think he'll get Luis to push as hard as he can and take things over and then he'll just kill him and take the reins. I could use another gun hand if you're available, Marek."

Marek shook his head some. "Your feud shouldn't involve me, Lucious. But I'll see if I can get a few hundred rounds of the UV bullets to you in a couple days. They give you a run for your money, I might stop by." Marek perked a grin as his arms slid over his chest in fold. "I'm still good about here, right?" Lucious gave a nod with a smile from Helen and then back at Marek with a nod and smile. "Yeah, you're still an honorary member, Kharune. Come on, let's have a drink and we can catch up on the past two years."

Marek shifted in bed. Sitting up a moment with a push of his elbows to his hands. A glance over the dimly lit bedroom a moment. The security system was quiet, as the rest of the room it seemed. He'd give his daughter a call tomorrow, remind her to see her mother for Mother's Day.

A glance toward the form beside him in the bed. It seemed, the open sexual life of Marek Kharune had all but come to a sudden pause. Well, at least the open part. The sex was still happening, but only with one gal these days. Not that he'd complain any. The sex with the woman beside him' Pretty damn amazing.

The jobs from G had slowed some in the past few weeks. As well as his two other employers. No doubt that'd change again. Every line of work had it slow downs. Even keeping order and Evil guessing as to when it was going to get itself beat down again.

Laying back down he turned to his side and slid an arm over and around the woman beside him. Nestling in close with a breath as he settled back in with a whisper at her ear.

"Night, Vixen."

The Armored Dodge Ram sat in the overhauled warehouse. The nearly three foot tall gremlin, Blue, slid out from under the truck on a skid. His overalls were a mess as he slid up and grinned. A thumbs up for Marek who leaned into the driver's side and gave the truck, which looked like something out of a Mad Max Film on Earth, a start. As the armored and armed, beast came to life Blue's grin perked wider, if at all possible.

Marek smirked before turning the truck off. "Not bad Blue." "Not bad?" Blue chuckled and moved for the cooler with ice, grabbing a Dwarven ale and tossing a second Marek's way. His boosted reflexes kicking in and an easy grab was had in turn. "Course it works. But next time don't run over a spiked demon all right' Put holes in several of your hoses and a nasty gouge in the left side of the engine. We'll have to install a few plates to help protect the engine over all better. How's your daughter doing?"

A nod given downward at the blue gremlin. "Better. I guess it's lucky she took something from me. Her accelerated cells are healing up the burns decently. In a couple days won't be a sign she was ever in that fire at the Temple. Vixen I think blames herself for leaving her there. Told her wasn't her fault. She didn't set the fire." Blue took a drink from his bottle of ale and thought a moment.

"Only a matter of time till they find out who did it. When they do, what?s the plan?" Blue turned a glance of his red eyes over at Marek.

Marek took a long drink from his ale before lowering it from his lips. "I make what?s left of their life, a living Hell." Blue gave a nod of his head, the tip of the stocking hat he wore flipped about but the hat stayed in place with the polarized goggles snug on his forehead. "Heh, getting on your bad side wasn't something they expected I wager. Probably were just look'n to hurt them Scath' girls. Which in itself is like a huge crime. Cause they are some of the hottest chicks around the city!" Marek perked a slight smirk finally and gave a nod over.

"I know. I'm seeing' Vixen remember?" Blue gave Marek a thumbs up. "Case in point! Tall, darker skin, and hot, hot, hot. Plus she's got like great curves and nice.." "Blue..." Marek perked a brow. "What' I was gonna say a nice personality." Marek's brow ushered up just a bit more. Blue smirked and chuckled. "Oh okay...I was gonna say a nice rack. Which reminds me, I got a date with a tavern wench and her sister in two hours." Marek smirked and shook his head. "Rock it out, Blue." Blue shifted his arms and flexed his muscles. "All right, now let's get the right side's Vulcan gun working on your truck here hopefully before I gotta head out. Do I even want to know what the goo' is that's covering the rotary assembly?" Marek grinned a bit and rubbed at his beard with a hand. "No...you don't, Blue. Let's just say it's dead and splattered all over the Northern road away from the city."

Marek got up slowly from the bed as morning peeked inward through the windows. As his cells regenerated, his body felt achy, slightly pained. The demon from the previous night had a friend and those talons cut deep. Lucky for him the bone lacing saved him from losing out right several ribs. The hand blades came in handy, yet again in his life, when the pistol and that of his Templar's Sword was lost in the fighting.

Indeed the implants from his previous job as a Shadowrunner back on his home world had come in handy since his arrival here on Rhydin nearly ten years ago.

The bruising he had the day before, was long go with out a trace on his skin. The cuts, the puncture wounds and scrapes were gone as well. Having cells that regenerated so quickly definitely paid off on his home world as well as here on Rhydin. Course, the aches and slight pains weren't easy. Though he could live with them from time to time given he was still alive.

The clothing from the week had been burned, all but that leather jacket of his. Truth be told he had a dozen or so of them nestled away. The lining held that of mithril hidden away for protecting the would be wearer of the leather jackets. Blade weapons, talons and some smaller caliber bullets were stopped short of hitting their target. Of course, the previous night his leather jacket was unzipped when the fighting started with the demon and it's little hellish' friend. Thus, the talons made their way into his flesh from the open jacket. Damn.

A hand moved over his beard lightly as he pulled the fridge door open. It wasn't a home, but one of several safe houses he'd established about Rhydin City. As usual, food and water to get by was about but nothing that really fit his appetite. Perhaps he head to the markets later for something. Though with the weather changing, little fresh fruit would be found no doubt. Perhaps he'd stop by the Teas' and Tombs shop. They had fresh bakery in their display cases in the mornings up through the afternoons.

Later he'd put in an order to Nash for more of those lovely gadgets that took out things that went bump in the night. His Church contact would be called later as well or an email sent to him for more holy water and probably a good idea for a second or even third Blessed Templar Sword to have about. Of course a few replacement submachine guns and shotguns, considering earlier in the week he'd lost a few to that vampire gang he neutralized in Rhydin City's West End district. Plus replacement explosives. Considering during the past week he used what he had left to take out the drug dealers vessels parked in Rhydin's port docks. No doubt the fish by the docks were flying high.

He'd check out The Grumpy Gator bar later perhaps, for now, he'd take a shower and lay back down for a few hours. Though technically he wasn't a member of the Avengers in Rhydin it seemed, he had an ear to the wind so to speak.

A helping hand, yeah, that's what he was around here it seemed.

Marek shifted in the shower, letting the drops of water play downward over his head, through his locks of hair and in turn over his beard. As the water hit his chest a wince perked his lips. The wounds he'd sustained from a merely hour ago were still healing. Though his cell growth was quick, it wasn't instant when it came to explosions. The scar upon his face was gone already, as was that of the bruises to his legs.

He was tired, damn tired. A good afternoons's sleep was what the wizard he knew had ordered.

The UMP Submachine Gun was laid upon the coffee table in the parlor of the safe house. Also was that of a pair of Para Black semi automatic pistols. He'd be putting in an order to Nash for more of the 'unique' .45 caliber ammunition later today. No doubt Mr. Kerbero won't be too happy on one hand about the Holy Shotgun being banged up. Though on the other hand he'll no doubt charge Marek for purchasing two more as replacements. The blessed silver knuckles were still ridden with vampire blood. They'd have to be cleaned up later.

He'd make a stop to Rhydin City and the Red Dragon Inn later, then a stop off at The Grumpy Gator Bar. For now though, he was simply enjoying the warm play of the water down over him from the shower head. Maybe a vacation was in order?

Yeah, right. Like that'll happen. Though perhaps a couple days at least to take off and enjoy some of the finer things in life. Like sleeping and sex.

Time had passed. A lot of time since a new beginning turned into a far too soon, ending.

The leather jacket was unzipped. Lightly the right side perked open in the wind of the morning. Perhaps it was fitting, how the gray clouds and the light drops of rain played downward from the sky above. Marek's gaze seemed to be stuck, frozen upon the small grave that laid before him. Put to her final resting place a few months ago, yet the memory of holding her still so fresh upon his mind.

Technology and magic couldn't fix what went wrong. A newborn just starting life. Only to die far...far...too soon.

Marek tucked the photo of him holding his granddaughter, back into a pocket upon his leather jacket. Slipping his hands into the pockets of his jeans soon after. Gaze focused on the simple grave stone marking her spot for eternity.

Perhaps the light rain drops, helped to hide what was rain...and what was that of tears.

"Rest...little one. You were here for a short time, but you left a lasting impact. Grampa loves you. Always...and forever....my little angel. Grampa will see you again someday. You save him a good spot and he'll rock you to sleep once more in his arms. See you on the other side...Grampa loves you, always."

The buff blue gremlin adjusted his white stocking like hat upon his head with one hand as the other reached for another shrimp kabob. Those big teeth of his grasping three shrimp as he worked them off the wooden stick. Marek shifted in his chair, sliding his tanned western boots upwards and onto the table before settling in the chair further and lifting a kabob upwards from the plate in his lap.

"So....bar has some new people about it, hm?" Inquired Blue, as he munched the shrimp in his mouth. A Gentleman, he was not when eating. Marek turned the kabob in his and slightly, the lemon garlic butter sauce glided in drip along the shrimp upon the thin little stick they were speared upon. "Yeah. Lately seems like every time I stop by to check on things, somebody new is working. People come and people go. No worries, Blue. I trust Callie and she always seems to have things in order. Honestly I can't think of anyone else I'd rather have handling things at the bar."

Blue reached for another two shrimp kabobs from the large platter like plate on the table. Sometimes you simply needed a break from the hustle and bustle of The Hunt. Keeping the Balance as some say. Blue's garage was out of the way and he did have four grills for grilling up everything from simple to more complex meals. "She's pretty hot too." Added Blue before sliding a shrimp free from another stick and tossing into his mouth. Marek perked a brow over at his short friend. "Blue, don't even think about it. She's smart, great at what she does and she's not up for your grabby hands. Besides, I thought you were seeing that Orc woman?" Blue shifted his muscled blue shoulders into a shrug. "I was....but seems she wasn't as free as I thought. This brute of a donkey head came about saying he was her mate and challenged me to the death."

Marek tilted his head to the side some as he looked over at his friend again. "And?" Blue nodded some, reaching for the bottle of Wild Turkey 101 on the table before giving a pause. "And, I punched him in the groin and then ran. You know, for a big brute of an Orc, he sure did scream like a girl." Marek smirked and laughed as Blue smiled a big toothy smile back at him. "I'll tell you what, Blue, how about I talk to a friend of mine and see if she might be interested in a date?" Blue's red eyes shifted some as his blue ears flicked at the sides of his head just below where his white cap laid to his head. "I like breasts." Marek chuckled and shook his head some. "Yes, I know. She's not huge like an Inn serving wench, but I think you'll like her. I suggest, brushing up on your poetry." Blue was busy munching on another mouthful of shrimp, garlic butter dripping some from his chin. "Okay....I can do that. Ladies love that stuff."

It was then that Qiulong dashed upwards and across the picnic like table. The curling Asian like dragon of gold coloring scales, grabbed with his forward paws one of the shrimp kabobs. Pulling it free from the stack and tugging it back along the table for a spot to start nibbling upon one of the pieces of shrimp.

Blue glanced over at Qiulong, or Q as they sometimes called the little dragon. "He been angry lately?" Marek glanced over at Q and shook his head a little. "Thankfully, no. The last time he became angry he grew to a size larger then a house. Though, I didn't mind him stepping on and chewing up those demons. You should of seen the look on their faces when he suddenly went from small to massive and started stomping on them." Blue chuckled and took a drink from the bottle in his hand before swallowing and giving a big toothy grin. "Just as long as he doesn't do that here. I just fixed up my garage for my new drop ship I bought from the salvage yard at the Star's End Spaceport. Wait till I get it fixed up. Hey....I could take this date you talked about on it maybe. Well, if get it fixed up by then."

The little whiskers of Qiulong shifted about at the sides of his snout as he nibbled the next piece of shrimp from his kabob. Little pink tongue licking at the sides of his jaws that savory melted butter and garlic.

Blue sat up some in his chair suddenly. "Hey! Isn't your daughter Sarah in town?" Marek lifted a shrimp kabob toward Blue and shook it lightly. "Blue, you are not dating my daughters." Blue laughed and held up both of his hands. "Okay...okay. But how about at least a fun drive and some shooting" She's cute, fun and can shoot a handgun like nobody's business." Marek would not do this. "Eliza, is also in town." Blue blinked and hopped up in his chair to stand in his sneakers. "Eliza" Um, so you said...no dating your daughters. Though you didn't say.." Marek shook his head. "Blue, behave. You know Eliza has a temper at times." Blue laughed and nodded his head quick. "Yeah, she's her father's daughter." Pointing the top of the bottle at Marek.

The modified Dodge Challenger of deep purple coloring and tinted windows was in rest outside the simple tavern near West End. Inside at a table sat the blue gremlin friend of Marek's, know as....well, Blue. At about three feet tall, muscles perking from thighs to chest, arms to shoulders and back again, the big mouthed gremlin with red eyes wasn't your usual creature of the dark. Blue had a wondrous ability with weapons and vehicles. In the past few years, he was the go to person....errr...gremlin, Marek had work on his vehicles. Buff, tough and dangerous to the core, Blue was actually nervous this night.

Chomping at his cinnamon scented cigar with those sharp teeth of his just behind his blue tinted lips. He kept looking at the door and then at the water clock by the bar. His usual pants were replaced with that of a little black suit. In truth, Blue wasn't very good with women outside of the tavern wench variety. Marek had teased him about setting him up with a date. Blue thought he was joking of course and never thought much of that silly talk.

Now here he was. Sitting at a table with his head just over the edge of it waiting to meet some woman named Pamela.

He was thinking this was crazy. Which for him, wasn't very far off in how his days and nights sometimes went. He gave a sigh and shifted the unique cigar between his teeth. "She's not gonna show. Nobody wants to date a Gremlin. This is so..."

Blue gave pause then. A shift of his red eyes at someone entering through the door way. The brunette had her hair in several braids, done up to the back of her head. Her outfit was a mixing of leather and lace with open sides to the dress worn. Were those black hose with straps that could run under that dress to a garter belt' His jaw clenched on the cinnamon cigar between his teeth. "Nope...can't be. Not for me. Nope...a Gremlin can't be this lucky. Not a chance in the thirteen levels of hell."

Blue was about to turn back to his bottle of Wild Turkey 101 and then she started his way!

Red painted lips and dark lace gloves running her hands upwards to her elbows. Eyes of blue, or where they grey' A gloved hand lifted to her right cheek as heels black as night came to a stop, right beside him. Her gaze lowered at the blue gremlin barely held with in that suit.

"Um...err....hi. I'm umm....Blue. Are you....Marek's Sorceress friend?" Having trouble with his words suddenly, the gremlin just kinda looked up at the woman. Her ruby red lips perked into a smile downward at the gremlin. She reached for Blue's cigar and plucked it from his lips. With a blink from the blue gremlin, the woman settled the cinnamon cigar to her lips and took a puff before removing it and smiling further. "Who doesn't love, cinnamon' And yeah, I am Marek's friend, Pamela. You're kind of cute, Blue, and you have good taste thus' far it seems." She offered the unique cigar back to the buff gremlin who took a moment to realize and blink before taking the cigar in his fingertips. Pamela reached for the bottle of 101 on the table and lifted it to her lips. If possible, Blue's eyes got even bigger as he watched her take a slow drink from the bottle before lowering it to the table and taking the wooden chair next to his at the table.

"So...ummm....Pamela" How do you know....my friend, Marek?"

Pamela crossed one leg over the other as her gaze moved over Blue in a sort of inspection of Marek's friend. "I've done some potions and spells for him in the past. He can be dark and quite dangerous at times, but when he's in a good mood, he can be rather kind and generous."

Blue nodded his head to this. He was still in awe.

Pamela had to smile at the look upon the gremlin's face. "Not expecting what you see before you, Blue?" He shook his head quick at her. "Nope. I mean, don't take this the wrong way hon, but most women like you don't give me the time of day." Pamela laughed lightly and gave Blue a wink. "Ah, but I am not like most women, Blue. I long ago grew tired of the fancy looking sorts. The high class, high rolling, stuck up with an attitude because they have the looks of some model. I hate that. I prefer someone with something good on the inside. Looks come second, what lays with in comes first. I need a good heart, head on their shoulders and someone that is good with their hands."

Blue noticed she was, in fact, looking at his blue hands. Which were big, he was a buff gremlin after all.

"I'm not sure they serve fancy food here, Pamela. Maybe we should head to a different place?" Pamela glanced about the tavern and then back at Blue with a light smile touching those red painted lips of hers. "I'm sure they can make a couple of good seasoned steaks for us to enjoy while we get to know each other, Blue."

"Pamela?"

"Yes, Blue?"

"Remind me to thank our mutual friend, Marek, later."

Marek leaned against the counter in the kitchen and gave a glance over the decor the apartment. There were plants of green and long limbs scattered about the side of the counter and in the middle of the kitchen table. A whole wall was dedicated it seemed to plants of various size and shape.

"I think you've added a few more since last I was here." Idly commented Marek as he shifted back from the counter as the slender woman Chloe stepped back into the kitchen area. Her dark red hair was pinned up at the back of her head. She was wearing a sleeveless black dress with dark heels. Various necklaces hung from around her neck and gave a gentle sway as she moved further into the kitchen to open of the refrigerator with a glance inside. "Yeah, I suppose. You know Olivia was around town looking to speak with you. She's probably still sore about your leaving few years back, Marek." Marek gave a light nod of his head as he slid his hands into the front pockets of his loose fitted jeans of blue. "Maybe. She does have a temper." Chloe faintly smiled and pulled out a pitcher of water from the refrigerator and after closing the door she stepped for a shelf and removed the mug there to pour some water into it. "Yes, she does. Baltor is rumored to be putting some together for some plan for a later date. He's all happy and cheery I've been told. Expect vampires showing up for some meeting of the minds. Blood suckers they are. Like leeches. Just as ugly."

Marek smiled a bit and gave a light nod of his head over toward Chloe. She looked over at him as she put the pitcher of water down on the counter near him. "Petricia is said to be coming to the city in the future. No set time or anything, but she's coming with her royal guard for some meeting." Marek's interest perked some as a brow arched over at Chloe. "Why would Petricia, or any Royal Vamp-head be coming here for a meeting" She stays locked away in that converted modern castle of hers." Chloe gave a light shrug of her shoulders. "I don't know. Must be something big. Prim and proper Vampire in the big city of Rhydin. Sounds like a bad story. I suppose, I can inquire to some I know about the city and see if they have heard anything."

Marek gave Chloe a perking smile at his lips and she faintly smiled back with a roll of her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, I'm a nice Witch. I know." Marek moved to wrap an arm around her in a half hug. "The best Witch I know, Chloe. The best. I owe you." Chloe smiled some further and gave a sigh of breath as she leaned her side into Marek.

"You just watch yourself. Lot of people and things count on you keeping the 'dark' away. Can't have you go and get yourself killed. And you owe me dinner sometime. Just, dinner. Don't get your hopes up. No hanky panky, Mr. Kharune." Marek smirked just a bit and gave a nod of his head downward at Chloe. "I can do dinner and no hanky panky. Promise. Course I might bring chocolate."

Chloe perked a brow upwards at Marek. "Dark chocolate?" Marek gave a light chuckle and nodded. "Yeah, it's the best after all."

Marek had checked in with Lance at the front desk. Always dressed in a suit and tie, Lance was the man to see about any issues or extra comforts you wished during your stay. Marek had left his unique Coffin Shaped Guitar Case with the tall man at the front desk and Lance assured Marek it would be waiting for him in his suite safe and sound.

Tan western boots lead Marek past the Rose Lounge. Red was the theme of this fine Restaurant. From chairs to exquisite table clothes and of course fresh roses in a crystal vase upon each table as a center piece. The food was excellent in there, though Marek wasn't real hungry at the moment. Possibly later.

A spot on the first floor near the back, Club Thirteen, was a place for simply catching a lighter meal and or just a drink. It held a high class look, like the rest of Hotel Haven, but with a slightly more casual atmosphere. Here was a place to take it easy after a long day or night. A place to rest with a drink before heading to your suite, or to find work. Whatever that might be.

"As I live and breath, Marek Kharune." Smiled the red headed Bridget behind the smooth mahogany bar. Leaning over the bar she made a grab for the opening of Marek's leather jacket and pulled him closer to the bar so she could give him a kiss on the cheek before letting that dark leather jacket go. Her lips were lit with a smile and her dark silk top was sleeve-less exposing her tattoos going from shoulder to wrist nearly. Her red locks had been curled recently it seemed and the low neck line in her top aided in showing off the tattoo upon the right side of her neck. Some said that Bridget had been a model, others said she used to be quite the assassin. Whatever the rumor was, Bridget had found her place at Hotel Haven running 'Club Thirteen' and she enjoyed making small talk with those that came in and or helping direct them to someone who was looking to hire for a job and or objective.

Marek couldn't help but smile some at Bridget as he eased to a chair at the bar. "Still as beautiful as ever, darlin'." Spoke Marek as he gave a light nod over the bar's surface at her figure. "Yeah' You think so?" Teasingly, Bridget did a little twirl behind the bar as if trying out some new outfit. "How have you been, Marek" Usual?" Marek gave another nod of his head as he drew his left hand downward over his light beard. "Yeah, thanks hon." Bridget gave a smile and a nod before moving to grab a tall glass and fill it half way with ice. Selecting a bottle of Wild Turkey 101 to pour a measured amount into the glass and then proceeding to open a can of 7up soda and add some to the glass before settling it on a small dark cocktail napkin on the bar for Marek. "There you go. What else can I get you, Marek?" The dim lights of the Club seemed to dance in Bridget's eyes as she smiled over the bar at him. Bridget could be a flirt and a good one at that, but not to everyone that came into the Club.

"I'm looking to catch up on some things." Spoke Marek, as Bridget gave a light nod of her head. "I have two Englishmen currently about. Mr. Ken Bentey or Simon." "Not in the mood for too strict a conversation, Bridget." Said Marek as he lifted his glass for a quiet drink. Bridget smirked some at Marek. "Got it. Simon it is. Let me send him over, he's at the far table." As Bridget moved off to speak with Simon, Marek lowered his glass back to the napkin upon the bar. Taking a slow roam of his eyes over the Club and those about it at this hour. Some he knew, others he was unsure who they were. Times change as do people. He noted a few new faces about the Club. Possibly new assassins or bounty hunters trying to make a name for themselves.

"Aren't ye' a sight for sore eyes." Smirked Simon as he lowered to a chair at the bar. Leaving a chair between them, as one could never be too careful even with the rules of the Hotel. Simon had a buzz cut and a mustache that down to either side of his chin. His usual black attire was worn of pants, belt, shirt and of course a fine black jacket to go with.

"Simon. Good to see you again." Commented Marek as Simon gave a witty grin. "Is it' Most people don't much like it when they see me. Means the Reaper gave me their number ye' know." Simon's had an English, Irish heritage and when he was in a good mood or angry, it showed in his speech at times. "Whatcha' doing back here at the Hotel" Not slumming for a job are ye' now?" Marek smirked some. "You know me, Simon. I always have a job or three lined up. How has things been around here" Any thing big gone on since last I was about the Hotel?"

"Anything big" Anything big....anything big....oh, aye. Remember Bensen" Up and got himself retired he did. Took a high level contract and made the mistake of think'in the 'mark's brother not gonna come and hunt him down. He should of' prepared himself for that. Man got sloppy he' did. Course you and I both know, Vincent, well now, he would have killed the whole damn family to ensure none o' them came looking for him." Marek nodded to this bit of information and truth. "Yeah, Vincent always was a bit high strung though. Not sure I've ever seen that man relax." "Relax?" Laughed Simon. "Ye' kidding" The man probably talks stern while in the toilet to get his crap ta' come out easier."

Marek gave pause, as did Simon as they looked at each other a moment. Then both started laughing at that comment.

"Yeah, you might be right Simon. You ever seen Vincent with a woman about the Hotel?" Inquired Marek as Simon shifted in his chair at the bar to get more comfortable. "With a woman' Man is so stubbornly stern having sex with him be' like doing it with one of them military drill sergeant folk. Oh, Robbert is looking to make a name for himself again. He lost the last contract he was offered to our Mr. Bentey." Marek perked a slender brow some. "Lost it?" Simon gave a nod of his head. "Aye. Contract was for him to take out this suite. Some business executive that made big profit in dealing slaves all over Rhydin with his sci fi ships and all. Our young Robbert set four bombs to take out this fellow when his armored car would bring him down a certain street, leading to where his airfield was." "Bombs didn't go off as planned?" Questioned Marek. Simon smirked again. "Oh, they went off all right. Just as he set them too. Except it was nae his target in the armored vehicle. Turns out it was the man's spoiled wife that he treasured like a Saint. So of course the man wanted to know who had done it and it wasn't nae long before our young would be Assassin Robbert had to leave for a while in the hopes things would settle down. Course, they didn't. So the one that put the contract out instead hired our smart dressed Mr. Bentey to complete the job. Robbert took two months planning his kill. Bentey' That English knob took less then three days to plan and take out the man in question. Precise that one is."

Marek shook his head gently. "Robbert is either too young for the line of work he wants to do, or he's just too stupid to realize he has a lot to learn. Have you seen Adele recently?" Simon gave a tilt of his head upwards some and ran his index finger and thumb from the top of his mustache downward at each side. "Aye. She just finished a job. Took out an entire Vampire Clan in the East for a contract that was offered to her. I hear she had help though, but just the same, she took them out. Modern technology has caught up with those foolish leeches. Ye' know she had one of them stealth drones hacked by a friend and the damn thing flew right over the mansion an' up and dropped it's bombs right on their home. As if that wasn't enough, she bought for no doubt a well price one of them torpedoes, ye' know the spaceship kind" Had that launched at the mess of the once standing mansion. Damn thing vaporized the whole area for nearly two miles out. Nothing left but ash. Hey, remind me to never piss Adele off 'eh?"

Marek smirked again but gave a nod of his head. "I'll do that, Simon. Have you seen Rupert around the Hotel lately?" Simon would shift his lips some as he thought about that one. Rupert was usually spotted pretty easily when about the Hotel. His signature black suit and red tie he always wore. Except when in disguise of course when working on a contract. "Aye, I have come to think of it. He checked in here other week, but nae' have seen him past four days or nights. I suspect he's working. Though if he's checked in, he'll be back no doubt sooner or later to take a break. If I see him about I'll let him know yer' looking for him, aye?" Marek nodded over at Simon. "Yeah, thanks." Simon gave a nod of his head.

"If you'll excuse me, I've some room service to order up for my suite from Lance." Simon perked a smile to his lips and slid from his chair move from the Club and for the front lobby area of the Hotel. "Watch your six, Simon." Said Marek after him. Simon turned partly with a smirk on his lips. "I'd prefer a lovely lass to be' doing that."

Marek was sitting in Club Thirteen, located inside Hotel Haven, when finally a smart dressed man approached him. The man was wearing a white long sleeved shirt with a dark violet tie with suit pants and matching vest of silk.

As the man came near Marek's table he'd give pause and run a few fingertips along his light and finely trimmed beard. "Kharune, it's been sometime." Marek smirked lightly upwards from his chair at Ken Bentey while gesturing to a chair across from him at the table in the dimly lit club.

"Are we after paranormal or more of your regular type of human scum?" Inquired Bentey as he lowered into the offered chair at the table while adjusting his tie to ensure it was set properly. Marek gave a light shrug of his broad shoulders but continued to hold that smirk at his lips. "I guess that depends on who qualifies as not being scum these days, Bentey. I'm looking to speak with Victoria actually."

Bentey shifted some in his chair as he straightened out. "Now why, would you want to talk to that witch' She's been laying low lately. Not causing a fuss and so she's been off the list. Truth be told, I wouldn't mind putting a high velocity round through her brain for a fraction of the price I usually charge." Marek couldn't help but smile at Bentey's remark on the witch Victoria. "There are worse, Bentey. Besides, she may have information for some trouble coming about. Olivia and Rachel are stirring something and it may or may not involve some vampires."

Bentey gave a light nod of his head. His blonde hair was cut professionally and kept short as not to be an issue when working. Much like his trimmed beard to a fine look. "You know, you could get the information you seek probably from....Melissa."

Marek made a face with the mention of that name, lightly shaking his head. "I'd rather not talk to that vampire wench. She's hungry for more then just some blood." Bentey actually smiled briefly with a nod of his head across the table. "Yes. She is rather, horny, that particular vampire. If you don't bring her blood, you can always...well...she has other desires for payment." Marek chuckled lightly. "Yeah. She must of been quite the wild one before, she became a vampire. If things don't turn out well with talking to Victoria, I'll consider speaking to Melissa for some information. Though I'd rather not take that route. Woman has the appetite of a whole clan of cave trolls." "And then some." Nodded Bentey.

"Have you seen Vincent lately, Bentey?" Bentey perked a slender brow across the table at Marek. "I thought you two agreed to not be with in a thousand meters of each other. He was in his usual negative mood the other week when I had seen of him here. He walked out from an elevator and out through the lobby to a waiting car outside. Haven't seen the man since. Oh, did you hear I had to fix another mistake that our boy Robbert had left?" Marek's beard shifted some as his smirk returned to his lips. "Yeah, Simon told me he messed up on a job." "Messed up?" Spoke Bentey. "The poor excuse of a lad' blew up the wrong person. You know, that is rather scary if you consider it. Perhaps Karma will catch up with him and one day he will blow himself up trying to prepare an explosive charge." Marek nodded lightly. "We can only hope."

"Charo, get the door."

The tall man grumbled but got up from where he was watching the football game from on the couch. His hands moved to adjust and straighten his suit coat as he walked for the front door. As Charo reached for the door knob an explosion blew the door off it's hinges and sent the man flying backwards onto the Persian rug."

"What the hell?" Shouted Timon as he shot up from the chair he was siting in just to have two .45 caliber 'special' rounds impact to his chest with the eruption of weapons fire from the entering man. Men scattered in the living room as they reached for their holstered guns."

Five men. In less then fifteen seconds they were all laying upon the blood stained flooring. Any last moment groans of pain, were silenced with a single shot to the head from the man with the HK submachine gun. Marek glanced slowly about the room from left to right and back again. Taking a step slowly forward and proceeding for the back bedroom of the apartment. He listened for movement. The sound of possible foot steps to the flooring. The sound of somebody being stupid and cocking their gun, or a cough or a sneeze or something. Nothing. There was nothing but silence. Until he reached the back bedroom that is. There she was. Sitting on the side of the bed all coy like. The Vampire Melissa. Her smile was one of devious nature upon her ruby red painted lips. Her hair played downward past her shoulders and her eyes were both that of predator and prey. Of course, she'd chosen to be wearing a red and black lingerie teddy with a matching skimpy dark pair of panties. With a cross of one leg over the other and a light bob of her foot, she'd take in a slow breath before releasing it as she moved her eyes over Marek. "Mr. Kharune. I haven't seen you in quite, sometime. To what do I owe this pleasure of your visiting me again?" Pay no mind to the fact Marek just killed her so called security detail in the other room and there was blood all over the living room flooring and furniture. "Melissa." Spoke Marek as he adjusted the submachine gun to settle in hang with aid from the strap at his left shoulder. Marek's eyes glanced about the bedroom. Ensuring there wasn't some idiot hiding somewhere. "I'm looking for some people and I figure instead of running around town to get some information, I'd just come and ask you where they might be found." "I need to speak with the Witch Victoria." Spoke Marek. "Mmhmm.." Responded Melissa as she as already running her pink tongue over those red lips of hers with her eyes roam of Marek's figure before her. "She's a confusing Witch that one. Why do you want to speak with her" She can't be as much fun as I am in bed." Melissa smiled oh so sweetly at Marek. "I am going to need to speak with Rachel as well. Baltor is up to his usual games. I need to find him and one of those two should know where he is." Melissa pouted pretty with a wiggle of her foot in the air some as her leg was still crossed over the other in her perch on the side of the bed. "Baltor has his head up in the clouds. Always has. He wants bigger things but he has not the brains to obtain it. I honestly would stick clear of him if I was you. And as far as Rachel is concerned" That Witch is on some high horse lately. All serious and dark looks. She has a meeting with the Witch Helena. Not sure when. I could probably...find out when it was and let you know?" There was Melissa's devious smile again. Marek's boosted reflexes kicked in, a product from his homeworld. In less then a second his hand was around Melissa's throat in a firm grip. "Mmm...foreplay, Marek?" Melissa perked a grin upwards at him. Her comment did obtain a slight smirk from Marek but he gave a light shake of his head. "Not tonight. I need to know where I can find Victoria and Rachel. We can figure out...a payment arrangement later."

The Three hand blades retracted back in Marek's left hand. The weapons were of course placed decades ago upon Marek's homeworld of Earth. Well, one of many upon the realm of parallel universes. Most Shadowrunners had one to three placed. Marek had three placed in both hands. Such weapons aided in never being with out a way to protect one's self. Or others.

The thief was a puddle of blood and tears. His right arm missing from above the elbow. Life was escaping him, no doubt due to the cuts run through the man's chest and that crimson thickness spilling outward from his heart. It was over quick, pity. Perhaps he should have suffered more"

Marek's gaze swept over the back alley. Five. He'd killed five. No tears for the wicked. They were all guilty of theft and some even murder. Five less to cause harm to others.

Vigilante Justice"

Perhaps. But then again every now and then maybe that is what the world needs. No red tape. No pause for legal matters. If criminals followed the legal rules of life, they wouldn't be criminals. Why should the rules be followed to get to justice?

Rhydin had gangs of all sorts. Killers and Thieves.

There was something gratifying in killing evil. No matter it's form. From your average humanoid to some vampire punk half breed.

Marek slid his white phone out from the right pocket of his leather jacket.

"Marek...I could some help with something." Came the voice on the other end.

"Just finished up some work, I'll meet you at The Red Dragon."

"Here little fella...here boy...here boy....come out, come out wherever you are..." Marek's voice spoke, as he moved through the nearly destroyed kitchen of a family's home just outside of Rhydin City.

"I'll make it quick. Come on...I don't have all day you little doughnut gone wrong."

It had been a day like any other for the family that lived in the lofted home made out of simple wood. Until something went horribly wrong while trying to bake in their wood burning oven. Marek had told the family to go away for a day and he'd 'clean' up the mess.

A faint voice, that oddly sounded jolly, came from one of the drawers. "Touch my tummy and you die! Heehee!!"

Marek turned his gaze toward the drawer he felt the voice came from. Three retractable hand blades slid out from the top of his left wrist. Quiet as quiet can be. Installed of course decades ago back on his version of Earth. With a few other additions.

As Marek reached for the handle on the drawer with his right hand, the drawer suddenly flew open wide and a little Pillsbury Doughboy with red eyes stood up inside the drawer with a rolling pin in his little hands. "They poked me in my stomach! They always poke me in my stomach! Laugh Doughboy, they say...laugh you little Doughboy...well I'm not laughing now and I will kill everyone!!!"

Marek perked a brow at the demonic doughboy. "Yeah, well, the family that lives here" They'd like their home back. So you need to be going." A sweeping slice of Marek's left hand brought the blades to cut through the evil bit of dough. However, as soon as the doughboy lost his head and legs he reached over to pick them up and slap them back to his dough body.

"Ha ha! Now what are you going to do??" I will have my revenge on people! I will be the one handing out the pokes to their tummies! When I kill them! Muahahhaaaa!"

Marek retracted the hand-blades back below his skin and gave the kitchen a quick look over. His smirk would perk of that beard of his.

"Okay, you angry doughnut. I've got things to do, besides babysitting your little evil self. You know, a lot of people like doughnuts." The little evil Doughboy gave a tilt of his head with that chef's hat atop it. Marek picked up what was a bottle of wine that was missing it's neck. No doubt the little dough-turd had broken the neck of the bottle off while destroying things in the family's kitchen. With the bottle already 'open' the remaining contents were tossed over the Doughboy. Soaking him with the red wine that was still in the bottle.

The Doughboy sputtered some wine from his little mouth and growled at Marek. "Ha! You think a little wine will bother me?" "Nope." Said Marek, as he reached to pull out a match from his back jean pocket. "Have you ever had fried doughnuts" They can be quite tasty." Marek struck the match against the wood burning stove and the Doughboy's little red eyes got big. With a flick of the match, the little Doughboy tried to run along the counter top in the kitchen. The match impacted to his back and ignited the wine he was covered with.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! I hate you!!! I hate you!!! Ahhhhhh!!! What a cruel world!!! I'm melting!!!!"

Marek smiled briefly as the evil bit of dough burned on the counter top. Locating a metal spatula from the kitchen floor, Marek proceeded to scoop up the burning mess of doughboy and turning around he dropped it on a cast ion pan. Putting the pan in turn into the wood burning oven before closing the metal door.

"I learned that one from Hansel and Gretel. At least, one variation of the brother and sister."

Marek gave a knock to the door. After a few minutes it would be opened by a brunette with red highlights in her hair which was in two pony tails. The young woman smirked slightly at Marek outside her door. "Marek Kharune. It has been sometime since you stopped by. Business or pleasure?" She'd inquire with a curious smile perking at her lips. Marek gave a light nod of his head downward at her from his height. "Akira. Good to see you. Perhaps a little more than usual." Marek gave a nod once more at her. Akira wasn't dressed in much. Just a pair of knee high white socks and a pair of red silk panties.

"Was looking for Beka. Seems she's gone missing. You know anything about that?" As Marek asked, he looked Akira over briefly, noting a few bruises upon her skin near her right thigh. The tattoos at her thigh were black of 'Betty Boop' and above it was a half naked nun in a unique pose. The bruising was faint, but there just to the right of the nun tattoo. On her left arm from the shoulder to the elbow was a beautiful spiral of dark flowers. Below those at her arm to the wrist were more bruising.

Akira frowned a little, sliding her arms in a crossing below her breast. "I haven't seen her in a few days working here. She had a few rough clients recently. Vampire types." Marek gave another nod of his head to Akira. "Looks like she wasn't the only one seeing a few rough types, Akira." Akira shifted slightly on her feet and gave a sigh. "Yeah, well, jobs the job, Marek. Some clients aren't the loving type. They just want something rough. I talked with Julie and Janet couple days ago, Marek. One of Beka's last clients was a Vampire named Vincent. Thought you should know." Akira shifted again in her stance, uneasy about one of the 'working girls' missing.

"Vincent?" Marek perked a brow slowly as he lifted a hand to rub of his fingertips against his light beard. "Jet black hair, eyebrows and red lips" Wears clothing out of the 1600's like?" Akira gave a little nod of her head, the two pony tails shifting against her bare shoulders. "Yeah, that's him. Guy doesn't like modern clothing I guess. Looks like one of those guys from the old black and white movies. I've never had him as a client, Marek, but he is a rough one I've heard. I know he left Beka a month ago with some bruises on her neck. You know the rules here, no biting the 'help' or anything like that. So he probably hand his hands on her neck and arms I bet. Security here for us is pretty good. Beka didn't come in to work few days ago and we just thought she was taking a day off or something. I know where she lives. I can give you her address?" Marek gave a light smile with another nod gently down at Akira. "Thanks, darlin'. You know, I will find Beka. No worries." Akira gave a little nod of her head up at Marek. "She's a good girl, I hope nothing has happened to her. You think Vincent might of done something, Marek?"

"I don't know, Akira. But I will find out."

Two days later...

There was a crime scene forty-five miles from where Beka's place of living was. Marek's modified 1970 Chevelle SS 454 of black with two white stripes from hood to trunk, pulled up to the tree line. The engine went silent and the driver side door opened as Marek slid out of the vehicle. With a close of the door Marek gave a nod to one of Rhydin's Marshals, Luke Wopat.

Marshal Wopat was dressed in a black long coat with a button shirt below and jeans. Western boots of course and a dark western hat sat up his head. His Marshal badge was set to the left side of his long coat and his pair of pistols laid nestled at either side of his hip in the leather holsters of his gun belt.

Marshal Wopat gave Marek a tip of his brim. "Marek." Marek in turn would give a nod to the man. "Luke. I'm guessing this isn't about our next card game?" Luke Wopat gave a little shake of his head. "Naw. Fraid' it's not. Heard you were looking for one of the 'working girls' from Rhydin City. Thought you should see this, come on."

Marshal Wopat turned upon a heel of his boot and moved off into the woods. Passing a few deputies looking about the woods, Wopat would escort Marek to where a female body laid among a large section of fallen leaves from the surrounding trees.

Marek took one look at the face and would give a shake of his head. "Yeah. That's Beka." Luke Wopat gave another shake of his head. "Yup. One of the Rangers found her after a few hikers were out this morning in the woods here. They reported finding a body. Got out here quick as I could with my deputies. She's got a bite mark or two in the neck, but something don't add up." Marek glanced aside toward the Marshal. "What's that, Luke?" "Well." Luke began. "I've found dozens of people killed by vampires. But there's always been more blood. She doesn't have even a spilled drop on her clothes and her neck is clean as if she took a shower. Don't add up at all. Who's that neat and clean' Now it's been windy lately, so the leaves about here are probably scattered more so then when the body was brought here. I'm doubting she was killed here. I sent three deputies over to her place, wanna come along?"

Marek was looking over Beka's body. "Sure. Somebody cleaned her up probably. Trying to hide something no doubt. Maybe they left something at her place."

"Yeah, let's go see together." Marshal Luke Wopat gave another look at the lifeless body. "Damn shame."

"Ain't much here." Said Rhydin Marshal Luke Wopat as he looked over the small apartment Beka had in the city. Marek gave a nod in turn. "Yeah, looks like this place was cleaned up pretty good like the body."

"Marshal?" Spoke one of the deputies. "All the sheets and blankets from the bedroom, they are missing." Marshal Wopat perked a brow. "All of them?" The deputy gave a nod of his head.

"Probably had blood on them." Marek commented. Wopat nodded in agreement. "So our killer does her in here and then takes her far out to the woods and gets rid of the sheets and blankets from the bedroom where he did her in. Where these girls work is too heavy with magic wards and security measures. Had to attack her here at her home where she was vulnerable." Marek nodded again. Marshal Wopat gave a snap of his fingers and the deputies looking about the apartment looked up and moved to exit the apartment.

Wopat watched the deputies leave the apartment and then turned toward Marek. "I gave you a call, because Marshal Ulyssess can't be reached right now. No doubt he's off somewhere in the world tracking some poor fool down. Listen, I've got a back log of cases similar to this one. Prostitution is one of the oldest jobs in the world, besides that of being a blacksmith perhaps. I don't care much for murderers, never have. I figure you have ways to find unsavory sorts about this world. I'm going to put a bounty on the head of Beka's killer. Dead or alive. Course, if it's dead ain't gonna bother me none. Less to tie up the courts with. You just promise me one thing, Kharune?" Marek was looking over the bedroom and turned around to face Wopat. "What's that?" Wopat shifted his lips against each other slowly. "You work outside the law. So you make that son of an orc pay for what he done."

Marek nodded over at Wopat. "They will. Promise."

Akira had her arms over her chest, a hand at each shoulder as she blinked a few times in her room at her place of 'work' where Marek would find of her again. Her long dark hair was in a pair of pony tails again, but braided this time. She was wearing more clothing this time around. A white silk teddy hanging off her shoulders barely by the slim straps.

"I can't believe she's dead." Spoke Akira quietly. "I mean this job is dangerous, sure, but somebody attacked her at her home and dumped her like trash in the woods" That's cold. Heartless."

Marek was sitting upon a violet cushioned Victorian style couch in the room. He unzipped his leather jacket and looked over at Akira pacing the room. "Yeah, it is." Akira stopped pacing and turned toward Marek. "You're going to find the thing that did this, right' I mean, that's what you do. You find people and things. You're going to make him pay, right Marek?" Marek gave a soft nod of his head over at her. "Yes, I will make Beka's killer pay for what he did and I will talk to the security here. Have them maybe upgrade their watch of you and the others that 'work' here. Just in case Beka's killer is looking for more bodies."

Akira frowned at that. She moved over toward the Victorian couch and sat sideways on Marek's lap. Slowly she would lay her head to his left shoulder. "Marek?" She asked quietly. "Yeah?" He'd inquire with a curious perk of his brow. "Do you think Beka's killer will try to get me when I head home after work one of these nights?" "Well I hope not." Said Marek. "Be a shame to have another pretty face lost to criminal scum." Akira smiled just a little, but her thoughts were of Beka and how the girl had been killed all alone. "I'm sorry, Marek. I'm usually the bundle of joy and flirtation here." Marek slid an arm around Akira. "No worries darlin'. Ain't nothing happy about a co-worker being murdered. It's normal to be upset. And you know, it is all right to be sad. Some folk think they have to be strong all the time. Everyone has emotions and they aren't always happy ones." Akira gave a light nod of her head it lifted from Marek's shoulder. "I know. I just don't like sad stuff and I try to be positive in this world."

"Tell you what, Akira, how about I check back on everyone here while I'm doing some 'hunting' for Beka's killer?" Marek gave a little pat to Akira's bare thigh. She perked up a little with a smile and nodded gently again. "I'd like that and I'm sure the others would too." Marek shifted some, brushing a light kiss to Akira's cheek. "No worries, nothing is going to happen to you."

It was a late night at the famous Red Dragon Inn and Marek's tanned western boots took him over toward a booth by the side. Sliding in across from the well dressed gremlin sitting a top a special seat to make him higher where he sat.

"Gable, good to see you." Said Marek after settling some. The gremlin perked his large ears upwards and lifted his left hand, clawed fingertips adjusted the thin glasses on his face. A smile perked the small gremlin's face. "Marek Kharune, it has been ages since last I've seen of you. How have you been" Still popular around the ladies I bet with that beard you are sporting. What can I do for you?" Marek gave a light smile over the table. "Looking for a possible killer, Gable." Gable gave a tilt of his head at Marek. "Seems there are plenty of those upon this world. You know, I do not like murderers." Said Gable. "I detest bad fashion more though at times." Marek smirked a little at the gremlin. "Nice suit, Gable." "Oh you like it' Cost me a bundle but I think it's worth it to look good. I see you are still wearing that leather jacket of yours. Do you suppose I should get one for myself?" Gable's head shifted in curious wonder. Marek gave a little nod over. "Sure, why not' I bet you'd look great in a leather jacket, Gable. I'm looking for a snappy dressed vampire, named Vincent. Familiar with him?"

Gable tapped a clawed fingertip to the table before them. "Vincent' Vampire? Wears clothes like he's some old Victorian era gentleman' I know of this one. One of the shops I go to for my more, modern apparel, he was at a few weeks ago. Gave the poor shop owner a hard time about new clothes he wanted but the owner said it would take sometime to acquire the fashion he wanted. I think, he felt that he was more noble and should be respected than anything. Snobby. I hate those types." Marek nodded some with a smirk. "Sounds like Vincent." "Well, he's not very nice. Didn't even tip the shop owner with his purchase of a top hat before he left. I'm sure I can inquire to the shop owner as to when Vincent's clothes would arrive for pick up. I could tell you than in turn and you could see him for yourself at the shop. Catch him there." "I'd appreciate that, Gable." Spoke Marek. "You know, Marek, Vincent's over confidence could be used against him. He's too sure about himself. A lot of those types around Rhydin, wouldn't you say' He is 'old school' in his ways. I'm sure some more modern technology would go miles in being used against him."

Marek slid up from the booth with a nod downward at Gable. "No doubt, thanks Gable. I'll see you around the city." Gable gave a nod of his head after Marek.

Marek first headed to the bar and spoke with a tender' before heading on his way out of the famous Inn of old. A few minutes later, the bartender headed over to Gable's table and set down a Crown Royal on the rocks for the gremlin. "Compliments of Kharune." Said the tender. Gable gave a wide grin. "I need to help that man out more often I think."

Marek was sitting in his dark Chevelle down the street, from where the shop was that Gable had said he'd seen Vincent at. His quite muscled friend Blue, was sitting in the passenger seat. The big muscled gremlin of, blue color of course, glanced red eyes out the windshield as he stood on the seat. His white stocking hat shifted with his head movements. "If that short gremlin Gable said Vincent's stuff came in, than that vampire no doubt will show up soon to claim it." Marek perked a brow aside at Blue. "You aren't much taller than Gable, Blue." "Hey!" Snorted Blue. "He's at least a foot and a half to two feet shorter than I am thank you very much!"

Marek laughed with a shake of his head. Blue gave a point of a blue finger toward the shop. "Tada, looks like Vincent leaving the shop, dontcha' think?" Marek's gaze shifted out the windshield and he took a moment to identify the one leaving. "That's him. I don't see a carriage or anything for travel too far. He's headed somewhere on foot. How about a walk, Blue?" Blue gave a huge wide mouthed grin. "Sure thing, but I'm bringing my backpack." Marek could only grin as he opened his driver's side door and got out of the car.

Keeping a long distance from Vincent, Marek and Blue strode on the opposite side of the street just like anyone else passing by the shops of various sorts in Rhydin City. "How's Pamela, Blue?" Blue looked upwards at Marek as they walked. "She's great. She likes cinnamon scented cigars, bourbon whiskey and none of that rich Elven wine crap. Plus, she wears some pretty hot skirts and half dresses. Oh and she also sleeps naked." Marek laughed a bit and shook his head downward at Blue. "Blue, that's too much information. I am happy you two are still together though. I told you I'd find you a good woman." Blue nodded with a shift of his white stocking hat this way and that in the motion of his head. "Yeah, I owe you. She doesn't even care that I'm shorter than her. Who'd of thought I'd end up with a gorgeous human woman."

Marek gave pause with Blue, looking like they were viewing into a store front window. Using the glass to see Vincent across the street. The vampire gave a look about him and then headed into a restored Victorian style hotel.

"Yeah, that guy's a rich snob all right." Commented Blue. Marek smirked again down at his friend. "Some just like the finer things." Said Marek. "Pamela's fine. That guy' He's a snob. Oh well, wanna go ask him some questions?" Marek turned around with a nod of his head. "Yes, I do."

The two of them crossed the street, after a wagon passed first and then up the couple steps to the fancy hotel of old and heading in the front doors.

There was no sign of Vincent in the lobby of the hotel. Marek and Blue checked visually again but no sign of the snappy dressed vampire.

"Maybe he turned in a bunch of bats and flew off somewhere?" Spoke Blue with a joking tone and the smile to go with it. Marek shook his head downward at his friend. "You know better than that, Blue. Let's go ask at the desk." Heading over for the front desk as a well dressed man turned around from writing something down on the counter behind the desk. "Welcome to our Hotel Gentle...men. How can I help you? Need a fine room for this evening?"

Marek shook his head. "No, thanks though. We are actually in town and looking for a friend of ours. He said he was staying here. A Vincent' Can't miss him, fine old clothes from centuries ago' Jet black short hair?" The man behind the desk thought a moment and then his face lit up with a smile. "Oh! I know who you are talking about. He just came back from picking up some clothes he ordered. Do you want me to ring his room to let him know you are here?" "Naw, that's all right." Spoke Blue with a wide smile. "We wanted to surprise him of arriving earlier then he thought we would. He doesn't look it, but he loves surprises."

The man behind the desk gave a nod and looked over his shoulder at the room listings. "He is in room 27 on the first floor. I tried to get him to take a fancier room on the third or fourth floor but insisted on being ground level. Odd, most people enjoy the higher views. You just take the hallway to your right, head down till you have a left turn and his room is the fifth on the right." Marek smiled to the man. "Thank you. You've been very helpful." Marek and Blue turned and proceeded in stride for the hall and in turn the room they had been told was Vincent's.

Marek put one of his hands over the eye slot in the door to hide who was outside in the hall. With his other hand he gave a knock to the door. A pause and then he'd knock again. "Who is it???" Came the voice from in the room. Marek gave a wink down at Blue as he spoke at the door. "Sir, a delivery just arrived for you at the front desk. Should I leave it out side your door or?" "What is it?" Came the voice again. "I don't know, Sir. It's in a box wrapped with a bow." Blue perked his head up at Marek who shrugged to Blue. The bow made it sound more sweeter perhaps.

"No...fine one moment." Came the voice behind the door.

When the door opened, there was Vincent standing there in a Victorian gentleman's outfit. Not waiting, Marek and Blue pushed into the room, grabbing Vincent and slamming him to the flooring. "Now see here! What is the meaning of..." Marek gave Vincent a hard smack with the palm of his hand in the face. The hard blow knocked Vincent's head back against the floor. "Vincent, what did you have to do with Beka's murder?" Inquired Marek. Vincent glanced between the two and narrowed his eyes. "If you've come this far, I doubt my denying any involvement will work. Not to worry though." Blue perked both eye ridges. "Not to worry?"

Just then large hands grabbed up Blue and Marek. Both were tossed to the other side of the hotel room by two tall Orcs. Vincent got up from the flooring quick and out the door he ran into the hall.

"Never easy." Grumbled Blue as he got up from where he had slammed into an end table. It had been a nice oak, now, not so much. Reaching a hand to slide into a pocket of his backpack at his back, Blue pulled free a Glock .45 caliber pistol and opened fire on the Orcs. Hitting the first one right between the eyes and sending the brute back to crash upon the floor as the second one charged them both. Sadly he would meet his ending as well, as Marek's hand-blades extended from his left hand and the Orc found himself missing first a large arm and then in turn his head as it was severed from his shoulders. Retracting the blades back under his skin, Marek took off with Blue running behind him. Down the hall and back to the lobby to push out through the front doors as both looked left to right for Vincent.

"Okay, where'd that rich annoyance go?" Asked Blue as he looked about for signs of the vampire. Marek narrowed his brows a bit. "I think I know someone to ask."

"Yeah yeah...hold on, I'm almost there!" Came the woman's voice from behind the apartment door. When the door opened a redhead was standing there in a red dress with black lace by the neck line. Seeing it was Marek and Blue, she tried to slam the door closed but Blue's strength kept that from happening. As she turned to run further into her apartment, Marek grabbed her and threw her down to the flooring. After stepping inside, Blue closed the door behind them as Marek grabbed up the redheaded vampire and slammed her against a wall. Her fangs came out almost immediately and Marek took up a firm hold on her neck.

"We're looking for Vincent. You know where he is." More of a statement than a question from Marek. "I don't know where he is! Let me go you.." Marek eased and then slammed her back against the wall again. "You know almost every vampire coming into and leaving town. Where is Vincent?" The redhead hissed at Marek and perked her fangs at him.

Marek's right hand lifted in the air and the three hand blades extended from their position below the skin. Hand blades were a common Shadowrunner weapon used back on his home world. Many only had one installed below the flesh, but like Marek, some had up to three set. Rated to cut through bone, they were quite dangerous and deadly. Marek had found them useful when he came to Rhydin so many years ago.

The redhead glanced at the blades in the air before her. She calmed some of her rage and gave a gulp of breath. "Okay...okay....don't kill me! He's not worth me getting killed!" "Oh good, now where was it that Vincent might go' Besides his fancy hotel?" Asked Blue as he looked upwards from his height of around three feet to the redheaded woman.

"The Rasper. It's a safe bar for Vampires to talk business. It's on the other side of the city. Don't tell anyone there I told you! They'll kill me!" The redhead did look a little panicked with her wide eyes.

Marek's brows were narrowed at the redhead, but his hand blades retracted out of sight. "All right. We'll go and visit this, Rasper place. If you let them know we are coming, I will find you again and I will cut your head off." The redhead blinked and gave a little nod. Marek grabbed her by the dress than and tossed of her over onto the bed where she bounced in a roll until hitting the headboard. "Stay frosty fang face." Commented Blue as he made his way out with Marek from the apartment.

The door to the Vampire haven of a bar blew off it's hinges and went flying across the the way. Orc guards immediately moved toward the open doorway but were cut down by weapons fire from a pair of ChemRail rifles. The high rate of fire from the advanced electro magnetic rail rifles cut large holes into the Orcs. Some losing limbs in the process of being hit.

There was a pause before Marek and Blue stepped in through the doorway, after putting in new box magazines of the unique 8.75 rounds.

"Oh, did we crash your party?" Grinned Blue as a cinnamon flavored cigar was sticking out from his teeth. "Looking for a Vincent, snappy dresser and likes to leave victims in the woods outside of town?" Asked Marek as he looked at the faces around the bar and tables gazing back at the two of them. "No?" Asked Marek. "You get out of here with your little gremlin!" Shouted a well dressed bartender as he pointed. "I don't think they want to talk. I hate talking, you know that right?" Said Blue up at Marek. "Yeah, I know. Well, I don't know any of these vampires so no loss for me." Stated Marek.

With that, the ChemRail rifles went to work firing off in their rapid rate of fire. Some vampires ducked and others tried to run. Limbs and heads were blown off of bodies. Some had huge holes explode through them. It wasn't a clean bit of killing, but, it was very effective against the vampires in removing heads and hearts.

Blue clicked the release on his rifle and the large box magazine dropped to the flooring, empty. Pulling out another one to pop into the underside of the rifle while Marek did the same. Slowly they would make their way around what was left of the place. Any vampires found still alive, were executed by loss of head and heart. Some hunted things that went 'bump in the night' with what could be called 'old school' weapons. Marek and Blue, preferred like some, to use more modern weapons that got the job done easier. Sure, Marek still carried at least one Para Black Ops .45 caliber pistol with silver bullets, but, well, some tech was just more fun to use.

Marek gave a nod toward the far end of the bar. Blue moved around the other side before a hop up on the bar was made and his rifle pointed at a bloody bartender laying on the marble flooring. He held a hand up at Blue. "Don't shoot! Please! I didn't do anything! Stop!" Marek peered over the bar at the vampire. "You know where Vincent is?" He asked. The vampire had long hair done back in a bun. His hand was bloody and he was missing two fingers. No doubt blown off from the powerful rifles. "Look, he's a creature of habit okay' He likes old stuff. Victorian clothing, music and doesn't like modern stuff. He was here the other night and when he went to leave I asked if I could get him a safe ride back to his hotel and he said no. He didn't want a car driving him around so he left on foot. I haven't seen him since then, I swear! He goes to the woods outside of the city here sometimes I know. Right off the main road, but far enough away so nobody traveling on the road would see anything."

Marek perked a brow at the vampire. "See, anything?" The bartender gave a sigh and shook his head. "I mean...ummm....okay...okay! Vincent likes to do his, feasting we'll say in the woods. That's where he takes all his victims. I know he's taken a few street prostitutes and then he came in one night here and made a comment that he had been at a classy brothel. We all gotta have fun right?" The vampire put forth a smile.

A shot rang out from Blue's rifle, impacting and severing the vampire's right leg below the knee. The vampire screamed out in pain. "No fun for you." Said Blue as the unique cigar shifted between his large sharp teeth.

"Victorian." Marek said. "You said Vincent is a creature of habit?" The vampire nodded his head quickly as he groaned in pain. "Blue." Simply said, Marek moved off from the bar and back toward the open doorway. Blue looked after Marek, then back down from his perch on the bar at the vampire behind it. Opening fire with his rifle and blowing out the vampire's chest with large holes. The heart, well, there wouldn't be anything left of it from the rail gun's explosive nature. It was rated, to blow through heavy walls after all.

A hop off the bar, Blue moved quick to catch up with Marek. "You don't think Vincent is going back to that brothel do you, Marek?" The muscled gremlin would inquire. "No, he wouldn't be welcome back there and I told the security there to watch for him. I don't think Vincent is that foolish. "He's a thing of habit, Blue. We need to take a drive."

Akira had left the brothel that night after being walked to her car by a couple of the hired security for the brothel. The owners took care of the 'working girls' because, well, you didn't make any money if they turned up dead. Keeping them alive was a good thing!

Akira gave a smile to the two guards after starting her car and heading off for her home. She could afford a decent place. Nothing too fancy, but a nice enough apartment that was only twenty minutes from her place of work. As she pulled into a parking spot outside the apartment complex, made of red brick, she gave a glance around checking to see if anyone was about. Not seeing anyone she turned off the car and slid out the door grabbing her leather bag in the process. A sudden slam against the car and knock to the ground made her groan in pain.

"You look good enough to eat." Came Vincent's voice. A smile perked his lips slowly.

"That's her car?" Asked Blue as Marek had parked behind Akira's car in the parking lot of her apartment complex. "Yeah and it ain't natural for her to leave her leather bag on the ground. She saved up for that bag, Blue. Cost a few hundred." Blue nodded his head. "True leather is expensive. So where did she go than?"

Marek glanced around, a few drops of blood were on the ground. A motion with his hand for Blue to see. Blue got down on his hands and knees and sniffed the blood. "Hm, that's not vampire blood. It's human. She must of cut herself or something when he took her. Can't go back to his fancy hotel, that bar we sorta tore the hell out of and by now he knows he's a wanted neck sucker."

"Woods?" Blue inquired with a perk of his pointed blue ears. Marek glanced at the car and then downward at Blue. "Maybe. Worth checking out." Marek and Blue moved back to Marek's modified Chevelle and slid inside. Slamming the doors closed Marek gave a turn of the key to bring of the engine to life. "Best be quick about getting to that spot you told me about. The one that Marshal met you at?" "Yeah, my thoughts exactly. No time to spare."

Marek backed the muscle car up in a quick shift into reverse and then reached for the console to the right of the steering wheel. A few buttons pushed and a glowing blue light started to perk from a crystal behind what seemed like a little glass box in the console, above the radio. Gotta have a radio you know.

Ahead of the car, a blue swirling vortex started to form and rotate with a few strikes of lightening like sparks from the growing tunnel like hole. "Admit it, you like that gadget I installed." Grinned Blue. Marek smirked a bit over at him. "Yeah. Gets me places quicker." Looking back to the now swirling blues and purples, Marek shifted gears and burned off for the vortex. Shifting again as the car ran right into the swirling clouds and disappearing.

A minute later, the vortex would close upon itself and vanish.

Vincent tossed Akira to the leaves upon the ground. Evergreen trees surrounded them. Her hands were bound in rope. She had braided her hair into a single pony tail before she left her place of work to head home. The little red bow that had been at the back was gone and her comfortable jacket was torn up along with her left dark knee high stocking. She'd lost her heels somewhere along the way of Vincent dragging her through the woods.

"Let me go! Let me go!" She shouted. "I heard you were a loud one, this should be fun." Commented Vincent as he laughed looking her over on the ground before him. "You know, your little friend was killed not too far from here actually. Though that spot didn't have much in the way of evergreen trees about it. No doubt how she was found easier. No matter. I had hoped to enjoy this city a bit longer before taking my leave for a year or two. I suppose I'll have to depart sooner than expected now. Best to have a treat before I'm off, yes?" Akira was shivering from the cold. It was only about 41 degrees out, but her short skirt and jacket had been torn and the cold air from the light wind wasn't playing nice with her skin below. "You damn vamp-head! You killed Beka! What's a matter" She laugh at your little soldier?"

Vincent gave pause, blinking even down at Akira. "What did you say???" Akira grinned up at him. "That's it wasn't it' You have long life, but a small one don't you? I bet she laughed and laughed seeing you drop your pants." "Shut up!" Shouted Vincent. Akira didn't pause. "Must be sad, to go on and on living. Knowing you probably have the smallest among vampires. Is it, cute?" Vincent growled and reached down to grab her by the throat, lifting her up to standing as his dark brows narrowed at her.

"You unworthy, little, unsavory, mouthy thing." Growled Vincent through his gritted teeth. Which by now there were some exposed fangs. "I am going to quite enjoy taking your life."

A shot rang out. The silver round impacted to Vincent's right shoulder and he winced while dropping Akira back to the forest ground. Spinning around with a snarl from his lips to see Marek several yards away.

"Oh look, you found me. How lovely. Now I can kill you too!" Another shot rang out in the night, then a third in quickness. One impacted to Vincent's left knee cap and the other his right. Sending the vampire down to his stomach before he tried to get back up, but failed. Blue was laying in the leaves behind Marek about fifty yard behind and to his left by three feet. Once the shot was clean, Blue took it.

"You are not worthy! I will not be.." Before he could finish his sentence, Marek walked up and snatched him up by his long dark coat. Lifting him into the air, Vincent tried to grab and pull at Marek's arms and then at his shoulders. He found that this adversary, was not like a normal human however. Was it possible for a human to be strong as a Vampire" If you had the treatments and 'fixings' like Marek had from his home world, yes. Technology, meet fantasy.

Vincent narrowed his brows at Marek as he hit him in the face and upper chest. "You know, I think you have about worn out your welcome, Vincent. You know, normally I would take my time to dispatch one like you who has upset me. Don't think I'm gonna do that. Did you have fun hunting" Did you? Give you a rush did it' Excitement?" Marek threw Vincent hard to the left. The vampire slammed into a dead tree's trunk and fell to the ground. The silver rounds in his knees made it hard for him to regenerate flesh and muscle currently.

Walking in a firm stride over to Vincent, three hand blades extended outward from the back of Marek's left hand. Curving out above the knuckles and waiting little time, were driven into Vincent's chest as he was lifted upwards and slammed into the tree trunk behind him. Growling and snarling in pain, Vincent scratched at Marek with the nails on his fingertips. Three hand blades slide out silent as ever, from Marek's right hand.

"Goodbye, Vincent." Simply said, before Marek rammed his right hand toward Vincent's neck. The three blades sliced easily into the flesh there. A pause, moment to savor the look in Vincent's eyes of pain and knowing the end was close. Marek gave a hard thrust of his right hand upwards suddenly. Tearing Vincent's head clean free of his neck and sending it flying to land in some fallen leaves. It was Fall after all.

As Marek moved in step, he gave a hard pull upwards and out of his left hand's blades from the chest. Pulling out in a rather gruesome fashion, Vincent's heart. A drop of it to the ground. Hand blades retracted back below the flesh at his hands and out of sight. Marek reached below his leather jacket to a pocket and pulled free a vial of something. Removing the cork and pouring the greenish liquid over Vincent's heart on the ground.

The liquid seemed to seep into the heart at first and than the heart started to be eaten up by the liquid. Not a bit of Vincent's heart would be left. As the last bit of flesh was eaten up to nothing, the unique liquid seemed to harden and then crack before breaking into a dark ashy brown in color.

Marek put the cork back in the empty vial and tucked it away to a side pocket on the outside of his leather jacket. Turning he moved over toward Akira who was still on the ground, shaking more so out of fear than the cold at this point.

Marek lowered to one knee in front of her, reaching to work the knot open and free of her hands from the rope Vincent had used about her wrists. "Is he" Is he really dead?" She quietly asked as she looked over toward what was left of the body by the dead tree. Marek glanced over where she was looking and gave a little nod of his head. "Yeah. He's dead, Akira. No worries."

Akira turned her head at Marek, she had tears upon her face. She had felt this was going to be her end, like Beka's. Alone in the woods. Slowly, Akira put her arms around Marek's neck as she started to cry. "Did you forget?" Asked Marek. Akira pulled back some and blinked gently. "Forget?" Her head tilted a bit curious. Marek perked a smile at his lips. "I told you nothing was going to happen to you." Akira smiled slowly and nodded softly. "Yeah, you did say that. I owe you, Marek. Big time for saving my life." Marek gave a light shake of his head. "You cook me up that famous lobster dish you make and we'll call it even." Akira's smile grew bigger. "Okay, it's a deal."

"Hey." Came Blue's voice as he walked over toward them. He had obtained the severed head of Vincent's and it was currently in a brown plastic bag over his right shoulder while the modified sniper rifle he had used, was in his free hand. "What do I get?" Akira smirked some and shook her head. "I'll pay for your drinks at the Red Dragon Inn for a month, how's that?" Blue grinned wide. "Make it two months and you've got a deal cute stuff! Can't take anything else, I'm spoken for." Blue gave a big wink at Marek, who laughed gently with a nod of his head. Yeah, seems Blue and Pamela had become quite the couple.

Marek eased up from his kneel on the ground and helped Akira stand in turn. Brushing off some leaves from her as well. "Best take you by the hospital just to make sure you're all right, Akira." "I'm all right now Marek, Blue, I'm about as right as rain." Marek smiled and lowered from his heat to brush his lips to the top of her head before whispering.

"No worries, Akira. You're safe."

Marek was sitting on a simple wooden chair toward the end of a low dock. Humming lightly to himself some AC/DC song as he was busy with a fishing pole. Though not your normal type of fishing. There was no hook on the end of the line. However, there was a Hershey's chocolate bar inside of a sealed plastic bag. The plastic bag was clipped to a two inch clamp at the end of the fishing line. The casting out wouldn't be too involved. Just a little flick of the line out with it's treat clipped on the end.

Reaching over with a free hand to pick up vanilla shake he had purchased on his way to the docks. The straw taken up by his lips and a light drink was had of the cool, refreshing liquid. Sure it was around 40 degrees out, but Marek wasn't exactly your normal guy. Since his arrival to Rhydin over fifteen years ago, Marek had adapted well to the low tech, in between and high tech areas of the world. A lot of friends made along the ride of his life on Rhydin and memories.

The line gave a tug suddenly and Marek's light beard shifted as he perked a smirk. Settling his shake down beside his chair and giving a little tug in return of the fishing pole in his hand. Things went quite and then bursting upwards near the dock came a blue tailed, Mermaid holding the chocolate bar safe inside that plastic bag.

"Hello Calista." Marek's smirk still at his lips. Calista gave a little whip of her light brown locks of hair about her head to expel excess water droplets. Her smile perked slowly upwards from the water at Marek on the dock. "You sure know how to attract a girl, Marek Kharune." Calista removed the plastic bag from the end of the line and opened the sealed bag for the chocolate bar inside. Closing up the plastic bag and offering it upwards toward Marek, who would lean a bit to take the bag from her and shove of it into one of the pockets on his leather jacket. Not really caring if the bag was still wet.

"I haven't seen you in a while. Where have you been, Marek?" A bite taken of the chocolate bar as Calista's near glassy eyes peered upwards at him from her spot in the water. The mermaid's tail was shifting below her to hold her in place gently. "Been busy removing the 'bad things' that cause trouble. I've been so busy, that I haven't even been at the bar I'm part owner of." Calista gave a quiet swallow of the chocolate piece she had been chewing. Taking a moment to savor the taste as she gave a little sigh. Tilting her head at Marek with a curious smile. "The Grumpy Gator and Bar" Callie running things there still?" Marek gave a nod of his head, putting the fishing pole down to the dock beside him on the wooden boards. "Yeah. She's a real treasure. Keeping things in order at the bar and going good. Found a good guy and seems they...adopted I believe. Two little ones...course, they're getting bigger probably. Kids never stay small for long but it is nice when they are young." Calista was going to take another bite from the candy bar when she gave a pause and that naughty smile crossed her lips. "Didn't you say, she's like a daughter to you?" Marek knew where this was going. "Yes, I did." Calista's smile only grew further. "So, that would mean...you are, Grampa Marek?" Marek's gaze narrowed at the mermaid. "Maybe." Calista started laughing with a shake of her head. "Awww...I think it's cute!" "I am not, cute." Stated Marek. "Daring, courageous, smart, handsome, dangerous....and cute." Said Calista with a little smirk at her lips. "No worries, old man, you're still sexy in my thoughts. And you don't look old or Grandpa like to me. You don't look a day over...thirty-eight...or maybe forty." "I'm eighty." Commented Marek as gave a little shake of his head downward at her in the water. "I don't have Elven ears, but I have my Grandfather's blood in my veins and he was Elven, back on my home world." Calista smiled. "So you could live nice and long, visiting me through the passing of time?" That naughty smile of hers was pushing at her lips again. Marek gave a little smirk from his lips. "Yes, unless something horrible happens...I will be around to pester you through the decades."

Calista glanced to the chocolate bar in her right hand. "I don't think you pester me. Matter a fact, I like it when you come around to say hello. I rather like hearing about your adventures on land and in the air. What do you call that metal thing with the...the big blades that spin around?" "Helicopter." Said Marek. "Though not all are made of just metal." "Where is Qiulong, your little golden Asian Dragon?" Asked Calista.

"He's resting at one of my hide outs. I'll have to bring him by next time I'm here. I think he quite enjoyed racing you through the water." Calista's smile was a bit coy as she looked upwards at Marek from the water. "I remember you, used to swim with me sometimes." Marek returned the smile. "Yes, I have." Calista's blue colored tail shifted below her, ushering her upwards from the water a bit further. She had never been one to cover. Be it with some type of clothing or shells. Marek's lips twisted into another smirk as he leaned from the chair some to lower his voice at her. "Always the naughty girl, Calista" No swimming today, too cold probably and I didn't bring my swim suit, darlin'."

Calista's smile grew upon her lips. "When you are around, yes. The Mermen" Yuck. All the good ones are taken it seems and the decent ones are...what do you call it' Tail grab happy?" Marek laughed with a little nod of his head downward at her. He was behaving, somewhat. Though he may have given a glance to a few droplets of water gliding off Calista's breasts to the water surrounding her. She shifted upwards suddenly, grabbing at his open leather jacket and pulling him from his chair right off the dock and into the water in a large splash!

A moment, then Marek would pop up from below the water. Legs and hands moving about as he shook his head at Calista who was laughing. She dipped below the water and then popped up right in front of him. "Not to worry, Marek. I'll keep you warm from the cold."
