Carson

Was in the wee hours of the morning when Thorn released Carson from the metal room he'd imprisoned her in for weeks on end. The chains were removed from her neck, wrists and ankles. She looked terrible. She felt terrible. Oh god was she hungry. Wrong as it might be to tear into her own kind and have him for dinner, she was so very tempted.

"Don't look at me like that. I'll lock you right back up. Here.." Tossing her a styrafoam container filled with medium rare steaks, still warm. Not the bloody, raw scraps he'd been teasing her with for days. Been just enough to keep her alive but ravenous. Just as the silver chains kept her weak and controllable. "Change of plans doll. We got a problem here that needs solved."

"I'll look at you anyway I damn well please." Muttered through mouthfuls of food. Couldn't shove it in fast enough. Right up until he talked of needing help. "You got a problem. You actually think I'll help you. F**k you."

"While that's an offer I've been waiting for well over a few weeks, I don't think I like your tone right now. Not very sincere" Scraping the feet of a chair across the floor, knowing all Carson's senses were still on hyperdrive. Slowly sitting, straddling the chair backwards. "You won't be helping me. You'll be helping others. I know you..a bleeding heart when it comes to those half breeds. When you hear what I found out, trust me..you'll be going all Superwoman on me."

She almost told him to F' off again but he'd like it to much. So Carson sneered and kept eating. Eating so fast, it hit her empty stomach like a ton of lead. The loud screeching of chair's metal feet across the floor rang through her ears like standing under church bells. "Damn it Thorn!" Slamming both hands over her ears tightly. "You're right. I won't help you. Why would I even help them' More to the point, why would you help them?" He liked to kill anyone who wasn't a pureblood garou. All lycans were target practice.

"Because those I hate more are using them for dinner. Just like Santa Monica. You remember that Carson' The blood harems" Kids, babies..kept prisoners, bred just to drink their blood. Get a little over zealous or frisky, they'd drain them to husks. Toss them around town for you to deal with or cover up. You hated it there. They're doing it here too."

She came close to throwing up upon hearing that. "Who?" There were so many races in Rhydin. Be foolish to assume the same party was at fault.

"Who do you think" The vampires. Oh I'm sure they're not just keeping lycans for feeding time. Humans multiply fairly quickly as well. So you have your cheap blood then the top shelf quality being us. We've already found a few drained dry and left to rot on the outskirts of the city. Unlike back in the States, we don't have to worry about someone outing our existence here. No one cares. Still, even I don't like the the thought of becoming a Five Hour Energy drink for some fang. "

Pushing the dirty, blonde hair from her eyes. "What am I suppose to do about it?"

"Work with me. Just like before. When you find one, let me know where and how. There'll be a pattern. Keep your ears open. Make nice with the locals. I know that's asking a lot. Befriend the other were's. See if any go missing. Someone is enslaving them. They'll want pretty and healthy. You know how the vamps are. Everything has to be oh so perfect." Sliding his tongue over those enlarged canines. "Look at it this way. You'll be free. You won't have to go home. I won't be hunting those peons I can't stand because I'll let the fangs do it. I'd rather kill those undead bloodsuckers anyday. More of a challenge."

"Sounds to me like you're doing this for fun. As a reason to kill any vampire you see."

"And that would be wrong why?" Rising from the chair to walk out. "You save the lycans. I'll do the rest. Take a shower, Carson. You reek."

As he walked out, she sat there somewhat stunned by the shifting of fortunes. She was free. At least for now. Would go back to work. Back to some sense of normalcy. She'd push Sui away. For good reason. Wasn't safe. There was no room for him in her world. In some ways, there was no room for her in his. Now this..

"What I wouldn't give for a vacation."
