Lt. Cowrie

Lt. Cowrie rode through the streets of Rhydin atop a chestnut horse, flanked on all sides by his loyal goose-stepping Watchmen. For the first time, they were equipped in public - paper cartridges prepared, swords sharpened, bayonets gleaming.

It was, well, a little intimidating. Before he was a Watchman, he was a lawyer - and not even a very good one. The job was interesting at the best of times, but the worst of times were horribly boring - digging through mountains of legal precedent and statute law, preparing legal briefs, running errands for his partner in the firm. In any case, he was a physical man, and spending his life in an office was no life for him.

So he joined up when the call went out. He stood in a file, he wrote down his name, and he dropped it in the lock-box. It's still there, waiting for the day when he comes to reclaim it. If that day ever comes. He doubted it would.
