May 1st, from 10:00 am until dusk
Childrens Day
During the day the Southern Glen is no less magical than it was the eve before. However, some of the more grown-up attractions, tastes and dalliances were closed for the day or unavailable on May 1st for Children's Day. The Beltane festival takes on a softer note, welcoming the children of Rhydin and their parents to take in the many attractions as well.

Spectral cats, amazingly gentle Elefants, cheerful dragonettes, mogwai's, Calygreyhounds, Dire wolf pups, griffonlings, miniature hippogriffs, tiny sphynxs, lambs, silky chickens, Shetland pony ponies and so much more to amaze and enchant!

Noble, winged creatures that have been trained to fly low, slow and safe for little kidlings to 'race' one another are sure to be a treat.
While the drink tent may be closed, several of the Green Men troupe as well as jesters and clowns will be available handing out many delightful kid-friendly drinks: from the classic apple and orange juice, pomegranate and blueberry or raspberry lemonade, cherry limeade, bubble tea—to the fun and different; raspberry orange fizzes, orange julius and so much more. Mothers and fathers may find many find themselves pleased to drink some of the realms finest coffees and teas available as well...If they aren't tempted by the array of fun drinks available for tots!
http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k497/Pinkisnotevil/Beltane%202011/facepainting.jpg Artisans with tickly-soft brushes wait eagerly to paint the faces of anyone for a few crowns (and the patience.) Butterflies, fairies, clown faces, painted on leaf-masks or pretend flowers in crowns or on apple cheeks. Tiger stripes or cheetah spots too.

The Holi Festival, or Fesitval of colors is celebrated by throwing colored powder and colored water on one another. Children and parents interested in the Holi fun should try and wear white to show off the brilliant colors!
http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k497/Pinkisnotevil/Beltane%202011/eggsUkraine.gif All over the Glen, eggs have been hidden for boys and girls in every bright color imaginable. Nestled in the grasses, near tents and in various well-lit, main areas. Inside the eggs are various sweet-treats for Beltane. Speaking of Eggs, kids and parents alike can visit Madame Krasinski's tent (easily spotted near the middle of the grounds as it is shaped like a giant egg!) to learn how to paint, decorate and create their own Ukrainian style Beltane eggs.
Many booth-games are also offered to amaze and astound!

It may be a prize! Green dot = you get to keep the rubber dragon! Blue = one stuffed Miniature Icer plushie. Red = 1 giant stuffed red bear, purple = One trumpeting purple elefant.
