Come one! Come all! The Zefrakis Brothers' Carnival is coming to the Rhy'Din Marketplace for Citizens Day Weekend!

The Marketplace is the central square of RhyDin City. It is located on the north bank of the RhyDin River, and West of the Red Dragon Inn. The clock tower in the Marketplace is visible from almost anywhere in the city.

The Marketplace is an open cobble stoned area with a variety of benches, monuments and other permanent fixtures, able to easily hold hundreds of people. It is surrounded by streets and walkways that take you to a number of shops, eating establishments and other businesses. And during most days merchants of all sorts travel from throughout the city and beyond to the Marketplace to set up stands, push wagons and carts, or just throw down a blanket and try and sell their wares.

In the evenings, the open area of the Marketplace is often host to a traveling troupe of actors putting on a play or wandering minstrels or possibly even a band set up to play for a special event.

General Marketplace Description, excerpted from the RDI Setting Description

For Citizens Day Weekend, the Marketplace will be transformed into a wonderland of fun and games for the amusement of the city. Broad Street will be closed between Central and Main, near the High Bridge entrance to the square to accommodate all manner of carnival rides including a Ferris wheel, carousel, bumper cars and all manner of gravity-defying thrills.

Traditional carnival games will abound, including the tests of strength, dexterity and aim. Don't be surprised to hear a carnie barker call across the crowd for you to amaze the onlookers. Can you strike with the mallet hard enough to ring the bell and win a prize" Is your accuracy with projectiles keen enough to win your lady-love (or gentleman companion) a stuffed dragon' Are you brave enough to try and navigate the House of Mirrors"

Food and drink to please all palates will flow abundantly from the east and west sides of the square, where carts and booths will offer up everything from lemonade to turkey legs, funnel cakes, fried delicacies, fruit ices and more. For the more adventurous, try the Devil's Cream stand, where ice cream treats with names like Richter Scale and Lake of Fire promise more than one patron will be running for the nearby beer vendor and avoiding the roller coaster!

Local food and drink vendors and artisans will be among those selling their wares. Be sure to support your local businesses!

Along the north end of the square on Crooked Lane, two stages have been set up on either end for performing troupes to delight carnival-goers with their talents. Don't be surprised, however, to find individual performers and small bands of entertainers and musicians roaming anywhere through the square during the festivities.

Between the two stages, this area will host the Zafrakis Brothers' famous Rhy'Din Carnival Freak Show. Those under the age of sixteen (unless accompanied by parent or spouse), expectant mothers, and the faint-of-heart are strongly urged not to enter the tents. We cannot describe all of the horrors that will be displayed here, but headline acts include the Mummified Prospector and the ever-popular Invisible Man.
