Date: Sunday, April 30th through Sunday, May 7th Location: The Feygarten; Dragon's Gate

The sweet notes of a lute and pan flute, touched by the magic of the fae, drift down the streets of Dragon's Gate, calling people away from their favorite watering hole to the wild oasis located in the heart of the city. A line of brick buildings and storefronts end in a large open lot transformed in the days leading up to Beltane. Mid-afternoon on Sunday, April 30th (after everyone slept off their hangovers from the previous evening), the Feygarten was revealed.

Across the entrance is a low rock walk, which appears to have been there for ages. Moss and lichen crawl over it, creeping onto the sidewalk below. Beyond a break in the wall, with an arbor arch stretching overhead, is a large, open space akin to a biergarten. Although the lot was nothing but empty rubble just days before, now tall and luscious trees climb into the air to provide shade during the day and shelter from passing rain showers at night. Strings of light lend a soft illumination, but the stars shine brighter in the Feygarten than in other places, making any other lighting almost unnecessary.

The whimsical music that drifts out onto the streets is louder here. Sometimes there is a discernible source (a group of fae providing entertainment on wooden instruments), while at other times it seems to come from the very air itself. At all times, it competes with the babbling of several decorative fountains throughout the area (reports claim that the water is magical if ingested, but not in the way RhyDin drinking water usually is!); one in the back corner even bubbles forth to produce a small brook that disappears under a neighboring building.

A scattering of tables in the center stand under the open sky for eating, drinking, and merry making. Much of the furniture is made of stone or wood, with moss and ivy growing along the brick walls, legs of chairs, and the edges of tables. A bar is set up against the neighboring building to the right with a partitioned, open-air kitchen deeper into the lot. The area to the left has lounge seating surrounding small fire pits to ward off the evening chill. The back of the large lot, with lush grass underfoot, has been set aside for sporting: rings have been designated with white paint and seating is arranged around them for spectators and officials alike.

All week long, there is a troop of br?naidh cleaning up around the place, clearing tables, and delivering drinks. The one regular bartender is a male faun named Marc who seems to take two drinks for every one he serves and likes to tell corny jokes and sing bawdy songs. The other is a female fae with twisting goat horns, deep black eyes, rainbow colored dreadlocks, and pale green skin covered in black ink tattoos. She claims her name is Belladonna. There are several other fae about the place (including the occasional entertainer and musician), most eager to interact with the mortals (and immortals) visiting the feygarten.

Beware the hospitality of the fae! Some may have less than noble intentions and would like to lead a pretty lass or lad astray.

((For those who would like to do so, this setting can serve in lieu of both the Inn and the dueling venues for some or all nights during the week of Beltane (depending on the state of the flash chat).

Feel free to make up in which ways the water is magical and play with the NPCs. Check out some inspiration images here.

With the implementation of the new chat system, we have asked that a chatroom be created for Feygarten for the week. If that is not possible, Feygarten will be held in the Southern Glen room.))
