Come to the Renaissance Faire!
Spend your Saturday at the Renaissance Faire Castle at Wonderplex. Enjoy a feast fit for a monarch in the dining hall or in the picnic grove. Take a minute or two to attend a recital in the music room. See a blacksmith at work creating weapons and armor. Search the library for unusual books. Take advantage of the second floor viewing boxes to watch the jousting demonstrations and archery contests. Each child will have the choice of a wooden sword or bow and arrow to take home.
Costumes are available for anyone wanting to dress for the times. At least one lucky family will be invited to stay the night in one of the castle's suites and have a hearty breakfast the following morning. Minstrels will be wandering grounds to entertain guests. A king and/or queen will be crowned to reign over the day's events. Keep an eye open for our fairy princess, who will be granting a few wishes.
As a safety precaution, due to the use of open fires for cooking and at the blacksmith's forge along with weapons being in use, children under ten must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or someone on the child care team.
Modern restroom facilities are located beneath the clock tower near the front of the castle.
