13 April 2018 AM - Setting Up

"Maggie, I could run this booth," Pearl said with a bright grin on her face.

"Thanks, Pearl, but you're already on making change detail," Maggie said as she wrote down a few notes. "Besides, you have the band stuff to keep up with.” She adjusted the brim of her hat. It sported an embroidered kelly green clover on it. The t-shirt she wore was emblazoned with Clover in Chief. "Besides, I want to be here to talk to people and sign a few pictures. Mama, Aunt Rhi, and Gran said they would help, too."

"Aunt Rhi is a few steps ahead of you. She already signed some pictures. You did remember that she's also working the Gardenhome Booth, too, right?"

“Of course, I did.” Maggie nodded.

“You could have had the concert and all today.” Pearl adjusted the Sports Memorabilia sign over the booth.

“Have you looked at the calendar"” She gave her elder counterpart an incredulous look with one brow slightly lowered. “I’m not tempting fate on that one. No, thank you!” Her ponytail shook along with her head.

“What’s going on over there"” Pearl gestured to a large tented area on the other side of the square.

“That’s for Miss Eden to set up her dueling rings when she’s ready. I’ve got a crew on hand when she needs them.” Maggie smiled brightly. “Tahlia’s handling betting on duels.”

“Maggie, you normally don’t have dueling tied to Children’s Day, why this year"” It was Pearl’s turn to do the eyeballing.

“Because, it ties everything together. Lirssa was the Baroness of Old Market and helped the kids in Rhydin. I got the idea of having betting to raise money when I was over at The Hold. She had lots of friends, grown ups and kids, so that’s a good way to include more of them. Lots of things have betting and all”

“It’s not a bad idea.”

“There’s at least one new kid dueling this year. Niko, Kruger Allen’s son.”

“How does it feel to not be the youngest anymore?” Pearl smiled thoughtfully.

“Pretty good, actually. That’s what I’ve hoping for. I broke some barriers that Mama and Aunt Rhi didn’t. I can’t wait to see what Niko does.”

“He might opt to only do things like Madness, you know.” Pearl had a challenging expression on her face.

“That’s his choice to make and his chance to take, “ Maggie countered. “The doorway is open and he walked through. That’s what matters to me.” The conversion faded into the buzzing of other voices.

((If your character has a shop booth or game to run for Children's Day, please post it in this thread. If you are leaving an NPC in charge, please add their name so they can be interacted with! ))

The sign on the front of the booth read Sports Memorabilia. The background was decorated with Maggie's personal banner. Photos and autographs of various sports figures in Rhydin were available. Maggie, herself, would be there at various times of day to sign autographs and pose for photos. Her mother and Aunt Rhi, both former baronesses, would also be spending time there. A jar was set on the counter with notice on it: All donations to benefit Rhydin's children charities.

Throughout the day, several ladies and gents would be taking turns in the kissing booth. Among others, Linda Maddox, Tina Rivers, Mike Perish, and Joe Martin from Navarra Farms staff would be stepping up to accept donations in exchange for kisses.

A sign was fastened to a basket hanging from one of bright green and purple balloon bouquets.Feeling impulsive" Want to tie the knot with that special someone" For a year" For life" Place your request in the basket and be handfasted or wed tonight! The only clue to who had left it there was a tray freshly baked brownies.

((If anyone wants their character to step in and sell kisses, be my guest. :) Requests can be placed in the basket via post, PM, or live play.))

Gardenhome Orchards had a booth serving up slushies, available made from wine or juice bases with assorted fruit flavor mixes. There were also bags of the different mixes there for purchase, with instructions on how to prepare them. "All proceeds go to the Kids of Summer Foundation!" called out Eregor, grinning as he drew additional folks to the booth.

"If you keep that up, we're going to run out," chimed in Rhi with a smile.

"You say that like it's a bad thing. Remember, I can always pop back to blend up some more. Ah, thank you, ma'am! Peach mango, excellent choice mixed with a white wine." He handed a glass and a bag of mix to the latest customer.

Rhiannon turned to give her husband a wink. "Just remember, you've got to on stage once Celtic Fire has cleared. Got your set list?"

He patted his vest pocket. "I'll be ready. Hello, and welcome to Gardenhome! What would you like?"

And so it went....

Throughout his many years, Heph had grown a soft spot in his heart for children, particularly those who were sick or disabled, which came as no surprise to anyone who knew his story. So he always liked to craft some extra-special toys for Children's Day each year.

There were wind-up clockwork animals: a hummingbird with fluttering wings, a horse that pranced in a circle, a dog that would sit up, and many more. Many of these were donated to the children's ward at Riverview Hospital, and to the city's orphanages and fosterages. Others were available for sale at the Lemnos Craftworks booth in the Children's Day festival, with all proceeds going to the Kids Of Summer Foundation.

As Requested: The Easter Yeti made a special appearance at the festivities, handing out baskets of goodies and toys, with nurse practitioner Mist along to give wellness checks for the little ones.

Mist is PERFECTLY SAFE, he totally agreed of his OWN FREE WILL to participate in the festivities, he is in no way secretly chained to the booth where the Yeti holds court. So no matter what he says, just smile and pat him on the head. Don't worry, he'll be returned to Antonia's soon.

Pretty sure he lives in that big Elfitrail Elf Habitat she's got in her livingroom, right'
