Date: Monday, July 18th Time: 9:00pm RST Location: Dragon's Gate (RDI—Annex)
Setting The block directly around the Dragon's Gate baronial mansion has been commandeered by The Empress for the evening.
At one end of the blocked off street is a full open air kitchen with grills and griddles. Servers are regularly bringing stacks of food from the kitchen to tables set up buffet style. Nearby are picnic tables aplenty for eating, drinking, and watching the dueling rings that have been set up close at hand.
There are several rings arranged down the middle of the cobblestone street, raised a few feet off the ground so the fighters are easily visible to spectators too busy stuffing their face with food to come closer. Rumor has it that the wards are not in place tonight. Guess people won't know until they hop into a ring to fight!
A low dais has been set up off to the side of the street next to the rings with a giant holo-screen behind it for bout information and anything else The Anvil cooks up. There are lifeguard stands that look like they have been stolen from a community pool for dueling officials to sit on. There is also some high-tech gear specifically requested by The Anvil. Warning: he may have some extra pyrotechnics planned for the outdoor venue! There are also speakers set up all along the street.
Food/Booze All through the evening, several fae (borrowed from the Little Elfhame neighborhood for the night) will be cooking up all sorts of BBQ favorites: hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken wings and drumsticks, kabobs, and racks of ribs. In addition, there is a giant, never-ending pile of pulled pork (from Matadero Meats of course!). There are also packets of grilled vegetables.

All BBQ and picnic sides are heaped on nearby tables: pickles, coleslaw, potato salad, pasta salad, potato chips, and three different types of french fries (crinkle cut, steak fries, and straws!). There is also a wide array of condiments, including thirty different types of sauce to put on the pulled pork, wings, and ribs.
The Empress is a fan of Red Orc Brewery, so their best beers and ales are available in addition to jugs of hard lemonade (rumored to be strong enough to knock a grown man over).
Dessert comes in the form of a snow cone machine and a table with all sorts of juices and syrups to put on the never-ending supply of icy goodness. There are also margarita ice pops! http://ak1.polyvoreimg.com/cgi/img-set/cid/203200941/id/duTuV1tI5hGZz31ZzX_htA/size/y.jpg
Dueling At least one dueling official will be present to call regulation duels in ALL THREE SPORTS and any Hydra duels scheduled for the evening. The rings are also open for practice duels that will not count towards anyone's record for those just interested in a good time.
Squire Competition Tonight, Jewell intends to choose her Squire! The first person to beat her in a sword duel will become the newest Squire of Dragon's Gate. Hurrah!
The Squire for Dragon's Gate will receive several perks: *Training from the Baroness Empress herself *A cool red staff *Residence in the baronial manor if needed
((OOC Notes: The squireship is only available to those who have never had a character reach the rank of Warlord before. If you have" Let's fight another time!. I will be fighting all potential squires without any the modifications that come with the rank of Baron.
There will be no requirement for how much you have to duel if you become Jewell's squire. I think squireships present awesome and interesting RP opportunities. They should be a fun extra, not a burden.
If you would like to learn something about dueling and use me as a mentor" Great! If you'd rather just continue to duel casually and not have me ever tell you what to do' Also awesome. No pressure from me either way.))
