The observatory and botanical gardens lent themselves to an easy transition from beautifully natural to magically whimsical. The walkways were lit with floating lanterns. The regular lights were dimmed to allow for the glow of the lanterns and the lights that decorated the surrounding trees. Lamp posts were wrapped with brightly colored ribbons as an homage to the actual May Pole.

The May Queen and her Green Man had special seats of honor in the gazebo. Although, there was no lack for seating. The observatory had tables and chair set out. Each table was covered with a light gauze and a small enchanted fire flower center piece. The fire flowers flickered and danced in the dark. They glowed brighter when the area surrounding them was louder, and they were dimmer when it was quiet.

There were a number of small bars set up along the sides of the walk-ways. Fey wine was the main drink, with glasses already set out for the passerby. However, if that beverage was not up to someone's liking the bartenders would be more than pleased to make up whatever is wanted.

Scattered throughout the grounds, much like a seek a find were fertility charms for the party goers to take home along with mason jars filled with tiny peony fire flowers.

In lieu of a typical dance floor the guests were invited to dance around and under the trees. The layout of the gardens provided ample dance space. There was no specific DJ for the event-instead the music seemed to come from nowhere. If hard pressed to find the actual music source...The sounds seemed to come from strategically placed fire pits around the observatory and garden. These fire pits burned low, produced no heat but gave out sound. It was enough to fill the air with song.

Now is the Month of May-ing it sang.

Eat, drink and listen to the whisper of forest. It calls.
