For this year's Midsummer Festival, the Governor is hoping to add something different: live music.

Are you a new band looking to get your sound out to the people" An established group between gigs" Do you want to break out as a solo performer, or get the band back together"

The center stage at the Marketplace will be available for bands and musicians of all types to perform. Please contact the Governor's Office if you're interested!

((OOC Note))

Got a character with a musical side" Part of a band, or a solo act' I know there are a number of IC bands in Rhydin (Shoe Slam, TRASH, The West Egg Band, and more), so I thought it might be fun to showcase some headliner acts during Midsummer Week. Anyone wishing to participate, please feel free to PM me.

Here is the list of musical acts that will be performing on the Marketplace Stage throughout the Midsummer Festival.

In addition to the acts listed below, there will be a daily drum jam starting at noon each day, to get the crowd's blood pumping.

——- Sunday 6/19

4-6pm Gaelic Fire Future and present come together to make some music, as Maggie Harker, Doran Ilnaren (flute), Pearl Fand (fiddle), and Velen Ilnaren (guitar) regale their audience with folk tunes from Ireland and Scotland.

8-10pm The West Egg Swing Band The West Egg Swing Band, led by singer Sebastian Ross, brings the swing back to the multiverse. Their music, reminiscent of Glenn Miller to Frank Sinatra to Michael Buble, gets listeners into the "Sway" of the sounds.

——- Monday 6/20

4-6pm Seaside Serenade Natives to Rhydin, this a capella quartet sings in the "barber-shop" style, harmonizing beautifully.

8-10pm The Blue-Jays The Blue-Jays are a guitar and vocal duo comprised of husband and wife performers Jack and Jasmin Granger. Their perfect blend of vocal harmony and acoustic guitar is perfect for any occasion or gathering. Come hear them play your favorite songs, as well as a few of their own, and feel your troubles melt away.

——- Tuesday 6/21

4-6pm KFC Named for the first initials of its membership—Kevan Stoneknuckle (dwarf), Frank Hart (human), and Charity (elf)—this trio was founded after Frank came to Rhydin from his native Tennessee, guitar in hand. A fan of country music, he introduced it to his new companions and they took to it with unexpected fervor.

8-10pm The Beat-Elves Quite possibly the multiverse's only Beatles tribute band made up entirely of elves, the Beat-Elves play their inspiration's classics with a fantastic twist. And shout.

——- Wednesday 6/22

4-6pm Quiz's Mariachi Band Halflings and gnomes playing mariachi? Only in Rhydin!

8-10pm Timewarp A cover band that focuses on classic and folk rock sounds with occasional diversions into more contemporary fare, Timewarp features Eregor on lead guitar/vocals, Ebon Ilnaren on keyboards/occasional bass/vocals, Tenball on drums and percussion, Velen Ilnaren on bass/rhythm guitar/vocals, Pearl Fand on fiddle/vocals, and Doran Ilnaren on flute/tambourine. The group strives to bring the sounds of an earlier generation to today's ears.

——- Thursday 6/23

4-6pm There And Back In Tune Another a capella group, this one is a band of dwarves who sing the ancient songs of their people, proving that dwarven music isn't all dirges.

8-10pm OrcNation An interesting follow-up after the dwarves, OrcNation—led by half-orc Dirk Gurren—are a band of grunge rockers that take their grunge seriously. They are kind to children and respectful to their fans, though.

——- Friday 6/24

4-6pm Faery Lands Forlorn Glam rock with a touch of glamour.

8-10pm AFTERGLOW With strong lead vocals from Lyra and an all-around solid performance by the group, AFTERGLOW's sound evokes such bands and artists as Siouxsie & the Banshees, Iggy Pop, Blondie, David Bowie, and Queen.

——- Saturday 6/25

4-6pm Rhydin Electric Orchestra Following in the footsteps of Jeff Lynne, this band fuses classical symphonic tunes with electric rock to make something new.

Zydeco Nexus featuring Rockin' Louis A recent addition to Rhydin's musical scene, Zydeco Nexus brings their unique Louisiana sound to the stage. They are notable as the only zydeco band to include an enchanted alligator in the person of Rockin' Louis.
