Wedding Expo & Faire Fashion Show 24th July, 2:00pm Lecture Hall, Rhy'Din Observatory

The lecture hall had been transformed just a little for the sake of the fashion show, with a sturdy raised runway stretching from the dais to allow everyone there a good opportunity to see the designs that were on show.

The first design they got to see was wearing Mataya De Luca ....or was that the other way around" A vision in red, the owner of the Shanachie Theater flounced out onto the dais and along the runway, microphone in hand, to the tune of Love Shack, not so much modeling the gown she was wearing as bouncing happily around in the manner of a three year old playing dress up.

"Hey, hey! Welcome to Rhy'Din's first Wedding Expo & Faire's fashion show! Most of you know me - I'm Mataya De Luca, and I will be your emcee for the next couple of hours. I promise, I'm not the only model - if I was, you'd be very bored, because I'm not taking this off now!"

She twirled to show off the dress, and headed back to the podium where her notes were.

"First thing that has to be said is a huge thank you to everyone who made this possible - to the Observatory for hosting us; to the vendors for volunteering their time and energy; to the Lost Pub & Brewery for feeding us today; to DJ Zazzy Yas and WHAM! for providing the music; to Grace Cassidy and Hair or Dye Studios for the hair and make-up you are about to see on our volunter models, who must also be thanked profusely for giving up their time and a little of their sanity to be a part of this. And, of course, an enormous thank you to the designers who volunteered their work - most especially thank you to Miranda Granger, for having this little mind baby and putting it all together!"

As the encouraged applause died away, she leaned comfortably on the podium. "But you're not here just for me to talk at you - which is a shame, because I do love the sound of my own voice. You're here to see some truly jaw-droppingly beautiful bridal fashion. Seriously, it's like walking into a Disney Prince and Princesses' convention back there. So, without further ado ..."

The lights went down, the spotlights snapped on. The first song burst into life, and the show began.

"What bridal party is complete without a flower girl and ringbearer? Here come our cutest models of the day, Alexei and Maria Storm, wearing Miranda originals. Alexei is wearing cotton-linen blended slacks and vest in matching gray, with a long-sleeved shirt and a whimsical mint green bowtie, perfect for summer and beach weddings. Maria is resplendent in cream, with a square neckline, half-sleeves capped with chiffon, and a skirt open from the green sash to show off the multi-layered petticoat beneath, constructed of stiff tulle."

Hand in hand, Alex and Maria all but skipped down the runway, intimately aware of all the eyes on the siblings as they showed off their temporary finery. Both of them had outright refused to wear shoes, and in the interest of keeping the peace backstage, Miranda had given in, allowing two free little spirits to go traipsing up the runway catwalk barefoot and grinning.

Fliss had managed to get herself positioned at the far end of the catwalk, more to provide an anchor for her little brother and sister than anything, snapping away with her own camera as the two paused at that end just long enough for Maria to twirl and Alexei to bow, before they both turned and skipped back to the main dais and out of sight. It was certainly a cute start to the show.

Yasmin

http://i66.tinypic.com/29wstjs.jpg

"Next up, the magnificent Yasmin, Rhy"Din's very own Diva Extraordinaire. Yasmin is wearing a Miranda original, in layered chiffon. The colors were inspired by a peacock's feathers. Strapless with a sweetheart neckline, the bodice is fitted to just below the waist; the sash is, again, in chiffon, secured with a decorative twist of silver and crystal. The skirt falls to just below ankle length in a rainbow of blues and greens."

"Inspired by a peacock" was right as Yas confidently strut down the runaway with her head held high, sashaying her hips side to side, letting the colorful fabric sway as she walked.

It was an amazing dress. Miranda had outdone herself. It was bright, bold, and colorful, fitting perfectly with Yas's wild personality. The fabric flowed like an extension of Yas herself, which was pretty impressive to the shapeshifter. If Miranda could fit a suit or dress to the wearer as well as she made this dress to fit Yas's style and personality, she was beyond an exceptional seamstress - she was a magician.

"Always a bridesmaid; never a bride? was not an issue in this dress.

Not to be confused with the stereotypical matronly bridesmaid dress, Yas would gladly wear this dress anytime. It was perfect for a night out at a fancy cocktail party as much as it was next to a beloved friend on her wedding day. Brides would love the color options that Miranda could use to incorporate their own color themes, too. To let the amazing hues stand out, Yas choose to go with her caucasian skin tone. Also opting to let the gown speak for itself, she skipped her usual antics for the show. She hoped it would allow her some clearance when she tried to sneak off with the dress later.

Addie MacKenzie

"She plays in a band, but she is definitely not TRASH; Addie Alcar steps out in a Miranda design new for this year. A strapless bodice in structured white taffeta with a square neckline that fits to a dropped waist accentuated with lines of hand-sewn crystals, the skirt flares out in layers of organza and tulle to skim the floor with each step. A shawl of sheer white organza completes the look for a modern, modest bride."

Ever the performer, Addie was more than comfortable when she took the stage after Yasmin. Not even the heavy (yet totally comfortable) material of the ornate dress could hold her down. Offering Yas a wink when she made it back, Addie's turn on the runway came with plenty of sass and tons of posing at the end of the walkway to give spectators more than enough time to see the incredible work Miranda had done.

Unlike Yas though, she wasn't likely to try and abscond with the dress afterwards.

"Make way for a bartender who can cure your hangover with her apothecary skills! Charlie Darling is modeling a Miranda gown that epitomizes the classic bridal silhouette, with a few twists. Strapless to show off the shoulders, the fitted bodice comprises a deep vee front and back, modestly enclosed with Chantilly lace; the skirt flares out from the hips in layers of tulle and chiffon that will float around you while maintaining their structure with each step."

A bartender is not what one thinks of when they see her (and it's a temporary title at best.) Careful not to fall under the spell of her, that intoxicatingly fairylike beauty of the retrouss? nose and soft petal-mouth. Under the runway spotlights, overlarge eyes that dominate her face absorb the illumination, refract it back like an innumerable spread of stars across a black velvet sky come the witching hour, some bottomless eternity.

White pops on her rich butterscotch tan and diamonds glimmer from the Behr headband which accentuates her updo, a thicket of dark espresso curls temporarily tamed from the usual lawlessness it devolves into after a few drinks and several more dances. Glitter shimmers silver around thick black lashes as she moves confidently, the ethereal tulle train of her wedding dress whispering in her wake until she pauses at the end, fine-boned hand to hip to twist to show off the gown from the side.

Her collarbones are sharply defined, as is that delicate tendon in her sleek throat from the way her head is turned, and there's a fey smile at the end (perhaps at one bystander in particular), a hint of mischief has her picking up the skirt of her dress to pull the train around in a flourish, making it ripple around her like an angel's wing before she's strutting away to make way for the next model.

The Redneck

Date: 2016-07-21 13:43 EST
"An entrepreneur without peer, our very own Thorn sweeps into view in a gown that presents a collaboration between Miranda and one of our featured vendors, Jessamin Taylor. A vision in ivory tulle, this A-line beauty features direct hand embroidery and beading in gold and silver on the strapless princess bodice that bleeds down to a wide skirt, providing a smooth silhouette to envy."

http://cfc.polyvoreimg.com/cgi/img-set/.sig/WQquoAhWsG6sTh8KdEZw/cid/203945880/id/oGN4QmlP5hGS5pqtNuhFfQ/size/c600x352.jpg

Thorn took the stage after Charlie with a wink and grin that quickly shifted into a soft, gentle curve of her lips. Radiant, with just enough of that tremulous feeling of standing, poised on the precipice of one of the biggest steps in a person's life. Amethyst eyes shone with joy and promise, misting tenderly into all those happily-ever-afters love stories tended to end in.

She'd kept her hair loose, sleeking down her back in gentle waves and barely there curls that toyed with the bare skin of her back and shoulders. Left her face unframed and completely open to the world. Her jewelry was just as simple, a pair of diamond studs for her ears, and a one of a kind pendant of an amber bead caged in platinum set with diamonds and pearls. The ivory, silver and gold tones of the gown were echoed in the peep-toed pumps with crystal embellishment at the heel.

At the end of the walk she posed, elegant joy shifting to sass and glee from one stance to the next, and back again. On her return trip the graceful glide transformed into a proud as hells, unbeatable strut.

"A man with as much going on under the suit as it hides - tattoos, people, get your minds out of the gutter - Ezra Rowe steps out in a Miranda original. This three piece is made from a silk-cashmere blend, lightweight for hot days without sacrificing the sheer elegance of a jacket, waistcoat, and pants. In a soft shade of blue/gray, this suit gives your groom the option of discarding his jacket entirely to boogey the night away."

Ezra walked tall, stalwart in his movements. He made a show at fixing the bow-tie, dusting off nonexistent debris on his left broad shoulder, reapplying a sleek look to his face when glancing aside.

At the tail end of him walking off the stage was a grin that managed to crack the stoic facade.

Ducii

"Duci, Rhy'Din's darling, every inch the modest beauty in a mermaid sheath of ivory satin, overlaid with Alen?on lace. Sleeveless, the soft net offers the illusion of bare shoulders while providing the absolute security of knowing that the girls really aren't going to pop out and say hello when you're walking down the aisle. An offering from another new designer, Mystique Sweetness, the petticoat is made in similar mermaid style, with layers of tulle to give that distinctive silhouette."

Duci felt nervous.

Long, blonde curls were coiffed beneath a modern veil and the lace brocade making her skin itch. It wasn't often that she felt uncomfortable, but wearing a wedding dress felt like a bad omen.

She gave thumbs up to the others as they walked on and off the stage, hoping the encouragement she gave them would help subdue the butterflies in her stomach.

Fortunately for Mataya, Miranda, and the crowd, when she emerges from the dressing rooms and upon the catwalk, she looks every bit like a blushing bride. She batted her eyelashes coquettishly, hiding bashfully behind her hands in between slow twirls meant to awe the spectators with the dresses innate and quiet allure and occasional pauses to strike a pose for every emotion a bride experiences down the aisle and up to the dais.

At the end, she gave a wink and blew a kiss for the crowd before disappearing backstage.

And not with the dress upon departure from the event shortly after.

Jamie Willis

Date: 2016-07-21 17:17 EST
"Point and flex, ladies and gentlemen, here comes Shanachie ballet dancer James Willis, looking awfully buff in a gray cashmere three-piece from Miranda's spring/summer collection. Long tails for that oh-so-formal look, this suit comes with the option of a double-cuff shirt - perfect for anyone who likes cufflinks for special occasions."

http://www.groomhire.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/groom-feature1.png

Not exactly known for a physique that could fill a suit, nonetheless Jamie did his best to broaden his shoulders as it came his turn to step out onto the stage, making a show of handing Duci into the wings with a gentlemanly bow. Then it was his turn to take the long walk up the catwalk, posing at the end in unconscious open fourth position. With a flick of his wrists, he made a point to show off the diamond cufflinks twinkling at his wrists, flashing a grin to his husband on the way back to the dais and the blessed relief of relative anonymity backstage.

It was a real struggle not to abscond with at least the vest from his very smart 'do, but he was, and always had been, a good boy. He would just have to content himself with being a very safe pair of hands for the ladies to get various zippers undone with.

On the body of the delightful Saila DeFortes, we have another optical illusion for those ladies after a taste of the magic of Rhy'Din, from the design house, Dot-to-Dot. A nod toward the gothic in black Alen?on lace over flesh-toned layers of tulle and organza, this gown shows off the shoulders while encasing the arms in a delicate filigree of black lace to compliment the rest of the gown itself.

https://66.media.tumblr.com/155b0c451ba2b19349166072d0052afb/tumblr_oaj3mkBtgN1v05l6no1_540.jpg

A study in sharp contrasts, Saila was a vivid pop of color in a sea of white and cream. In her silver studded high heeled sandals, the girl stood well over six feet tall, a towering vision in elegant black lace. Curiously milk white shoulders made a rare appearance, the slender column of her equally unblemished neck adorned only in a black velvet ribbon with a milky green teardrop pendant at her throat.

A warm smile on lips painted deep red, Saila's disconcertingly mismatched eyes were made all the more dramatic by a tasteful application of smoky cats eye makeup finished in the flash and sparkle of silver glitter. There's a hint of devilish glee in her expression, of course, as best befitting this unconventional take on wedding couture.

Grateful she hadn't been the one to go first this time, the mercurial muse swept down the runway in time with the music, pausing here and there to hit a pose, tilting her body at deep angles all the better to show off that spectacular dress. Her violently violet tresses fell in long, loose, gently curling waves to her waist, a show stopping centerpiece all on their own.

At the end of the catwalk she stopped again, her strange eyes sweeping the crowd with the happy anticipation of a newly wedded bride seeing her assembled guests for the first time. Her gaze lingers on a particular face, her smile going just a little bit soft. Turning with a deft twist of her hips to flare the train out behind her, the girl was all fluid grace as she retraced her steps.

Just before exiting into the wings, she turned to glance back over her shoulder at the audience, dropping one set of lashes in a mischievous wink.

Layla Kosey

Date: 2016-07-22 21:13 EST
"Here we have the gorgeous Layla Kosey. Layla is modeling a Miranda original, in gold, featuring the handkerchief hem that has proved so popular over the past few years. The bodice is fitted to a high boat neckline in jersey - comfortable and cool for those hot days. The sleeves fall just off the shoulder in corresponding metallic chiffon to the majority of the skirt, layered with stripes of gold, silver, and copper."

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/70/b3/4e/70b34eefe3e300ffe186b6463efbe108.jpg

As the emcee announced her and the incredible artwork she was portraying upon her curvy frame, that cat-like grin spread and confidence presumed in her stride as her heels clicked on the runway. Sways of hips, a smile to the audience that brightened the stage as she made her way to the very end where she paused, a delicate hand curling on a full hip as she posed and turned elegantly to show every angle of that beautiful golden dress.

Fluid timing, flawless steps as she made her way back across the stage at a slow but patient pace.

Everything was a dream, from the moment she stepped onto the stage, and when she returned behind the curtains, it was only then that a heaving breath was taken. It was a rush being in the limelight for a few moments, and something she'd grown accustomed to over the past few months. But this was wholly different and she loved it! Those that put this show together had eye of perfection, right down to the hairstylists, the artists who created such sublime gowns and suits, Miranda and Mataya, the DJs. Safe to say, if another arose, Layla would sign up again at the drop of a dime!

Bailey Raptis

"The ever divine Bailey Raptis takes to the runway in another suit by Miranda. A classic three-piece morning suit, in the traditional black and white palette, this wool-silk blend features a double-breasted vest beneath single-breasted jacket. The bow tie is handmade with Tirisano silk; the cane is a stylishly optional extra."

It was good to be back on the runway again, even if his attire was something much different than his previous stroll down the catwalk. It had turned out to be a blessing in disguise that he had put on some muscle and cut his hair shorter since Fashion Week " no one was ever going to mistake the diminutive Bailey for the taller male models that often graced the stage, but for the first time in a long time he looked like he belonged in men's formalwear. Of course, he couldn't take all of the credit for looking so sharp, or even most of it. Miranda had done an exceptional job of fitting her suit to a body-type not often seen in RhyDin: short, male, muscular. Still, he would give himself some credit for shaping up, getting the right haircut, and laying off the feminine make-up long enough to transform himself into a passable groom.

Besides, the real work wasn't in how he looked ? that was in the hands of Miranda and the small army of hairstylists and make-up artists at her disposal. The goal was to draw all eyes and all attention away from himself and towards the clothes he wore. Therefore, the runway walk would be crucial.

Luckily, he was an expert on body control. He tamped down his usual strut, the slight hip sway that oftentimes made it difficult to peg his gender at a distance, or when looking at him from behind. He walked down the catwalk with all his usual excess motion stripped out. His arms did not swing, and his footsteps barely lifted off the ground. He came to a stop at the end of the path, standing perfectly straight and upright, turning in careful 90 degree shifts so everyone present could view each side of his tuxedo. After his series of turns, he leaned on the cane for just a moment, then suddenly snapped back up right, lifted up the walking stick, and gave it a little twirl, before resuming his walk back stage. He hoped he would be forgiven the little show of personality later.

Jacob Moseley

Date: 2016-07-23 03:02 EST
"Jacob Tucci, a Rhy'Din mechanic of some renown, struts his stuff in a gorgeous Miranda burgundy morning jacket with contrast black silk lapels and pocket flashes, over cashmere-wool blend slacks. This design can be worn with or without a tie - we've gone for a thin, straight tie of silk-cashmere in black, to compliment the contrast on the jacket."

https://66.media.tumblr.com/d6ab9a0d618dc1119c7165c48cd44a00/tumblr_oar6ahDFzc1u45u4po1_540.jpg

Backstage and awaiting his turn, Jacob's a jumble of nerves that causes him to hop and pace in place trying to shake off some of his building tension. He isn't really one for attention, but here he is moments away from heading down a catwalk with all eyes on him. The saving grace, the reason for it all, is the knowledge that his sister would be following in his footsteps shortly after. The participation from The Tucci Twins boils down to a game of chicken gone way too far, but there's no turning back now.

When given the signal, Jacob turns on his heels and heads out onto the runway. It's now or never! The suit is slick and stylish, so that helps put him at ease. With one hand in his pocket and the other swinging free, he takes a confident stroll forward with his chin up and eyes straight ahead. He's trying to remember all of the tips he was given backstage by make-up artists, hairstylists, and his fellow models, but in the end the absurdity of him being out here gets the best of him. Towards the middle of the catwalk, Jacob cracks an ear to ear grin. Something much more natural than the serious Blue Steel look he was initially going for. At the end of the runway he hits his mark, gives a good natured laugh and upnod to the crowd, then loops around to head the way he came.

The moment he's in the safety of the backstage area, he's lifting his arms overhead and fist pumping in celebration. He managed to not fall on his face!

"You're up, Tonia. Break a leg!" He flashes a toothy smile at his sister who's up next.

Antonia Skinner

Date: 2016-07-23 03:06 EST
"A being of mystery, Antonia Salvato walks the runway in one of the breakout designs of the year, a gown that seems to be all illusion at first glance. Comprised almost entirely of Alen?on lace, with traces of Chantilly lace to liven it up in places, this dress is for the bride who feels totally confident in her skin. Long sleeves add to the illusion of modesty, as does the chapel train, but rest assured, ladies, this gown can be adapted to be worn with an silk slip in a hue of your choice."

https://67.media.tumblr.com/033c8a32470db032e08cef901c662576/tumblr_oar63yrCc81u45u4po1_400.jpg https://65.media.tumblr.com/9981f6717c4201b66e8d5330ad74facd/tumblr_oar63yrCc81u45u4po2_400.jpg

"I'll break your fingers for getting me into this, Jacob."

Her brother knows she isn't one to back down from a challenge, but Antonia's really having second thoughts about being here. Not that there's anything she can do about it now! She wishes he had at least warned her about a wedding dress being involved, even if she's not sure there would ever be enough mental preparation possible for this sort of thing. At least there's no tulle! She survived getting her hair and make-up done, along with all of the stylists fretting over the very precise placement of the lace on her barely there dress. All she has to do is make it to the end of the catwalk and back again then she's home free.

She's given her cue and without hesitation Antonia is hitting the runway. They're labeling her as a being of mystery and it's something she can work with. While some of the other models might have gone for fun and drama on their make-believe wedding days, in her head Antonia is playing the part of the ethereal bride. Her movements are delicate, her pale features gentle, and her posture is poised. She's nearly floating down the runway with white lace softly rustling around her heels and the matching train trailing in her wake. At the end of the runway her fingertips caress the train framing the smooth thick waves of her inky black hair, her lashes sinking and her chin dipping to look off and away. After the flashbulbs of the photogs go wild she's making her graceful retreat.

The real show begins when Antonia gets backstage, making a rapid beeline for the nearest stylist who can get her out of this wedding dress. If she never has to wear one of those again, it'll be too soon!

Dominic Granger

Date: 2016-07-23 10:32 EST
"Do all professors look this good? Dominic Granger - yes, one of those Grangers - wows us in a gorgeous morning suit in shades of brown and gold. This, ladies and gentlemen, is for those of you who don't want black or gray. The jacket and slacks are made from worsted gaberdine, the tie is tweed. I bet he wishes he was wearing that when he got married!"

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8Gyk7oPXjdA/UZ6QroObxKI/AAAAAAAAvxc/qjzdqysi2MM/s1600/gerard-butler-6.jpg

One advantage of having been fitted for your wedding suit a few months previously was not having to attend the round of fittings for the fashion show. Dom, however, was Miranda's cousin, and she knew where he lived. He was never going to live down being stripped to his shorts in front of his wife and daughter in the middle of the kitchen, and they all knew it.

But he was a reasonably good-tempered man, and despite the urge toward mischief that presented itself as he felt Antonia start running the second she was out of sight, he managed to hold it in, stepping out onto the catwalk with a cheeky, self-confident smirk on his face. Daisy had made him practice this over and over again, until she was satisfied with his presentation, and he knew exactly what to do.

Reaching the end of the catwalk, he paused. And rather than pose, because that just wasn't him, he showed off some of those features of the suit - the triple button at the wrist of the jacket, the textured silk-tweed tie, the bright pink socks Miranda hadn't managed to get off him in time. And the grin broke as he spotted Elle and Daisy, offering them a wink as he headed back toward the backstage and the inevitable wrath of Miranda.

Kiri Calderon

Date: 2016-07-23 10:39 EST
"Stepping out of her scrubs, here comes one of Rhy'Din's home-grown stars, Kiri Calderon, in a splash of color that any bridesmaid - or even bride - would be delighted with. Another Miranda original in layered chiffon, featuring a strapless sweetheart neckline and deep back. The top layer plays out in predominantly purples, flashing through with greens and blues, over underlayers of pure black, tucked in at the waist with a wide sash of multicolored crystal."

http://img.our-dress.com/images/dress/Print-Chiffon-Multi-Color-Sheath-Beaded-Waist-Strapless-Sweetheart-Neckline-Sleeveless-Floor-Length-Evening-Dress-SG0488.jpg

Well, this was certainly a change from hours on a set where all mistakes could be redone. This was live. She'd never been so scared of just going for a walk before, but it was so exhilarating!

Kiri drew her shoulders back, giving her head a shake to set her curls bouncing before stepping out into sight, tall and proud, and just a little bit sassy. She made no attempt to glide or even try to seem graceful, but she knew this was a very different look for the TV star who wore scrubs and her hair in a bun on Horizons and was rarely seen out of jeans off-screen. A gorgeous dress, stunning heels, a cleavage that had been lurking under hospital drama costume for years, and the proud halo of her natural hair, held back from her face with a gorgeous twisted braid.

She wasn't a professional model, she didn't really know what she was doing. But she could offer a bright smile as she twirled on the catwalk, showing off those multiple layers that floated about her long legs. Striding back out of sight, she felt the belated panic rising up, edging out of the way to find somewhere she could sit with her head between her knees.

But that had been fun!

Johnny Storm

Date: 2016-07-23 13:58 EST
"No Miranda show would be complete without the participation of Rhy'Din's foremost firefighter, Johnny Storm. After promising not to get so excited he combusts, Johnny is stepping out for us today in a Miranda original with some interesting twists. The jacket and slacks are made of black worsted silk, brushed to a subtle shine; the vest, by contrast, is of black corduroy. So possibly more suitable for a fall wedding, when the chill is in the air."

http://i67.tinypic.com/2h33sdt.jpg

Following close on Kiri's heels was the one and only Johnny Storm - the so-called "Human Torch" - tossing a playful wink at the model as they passed each other on the runway. Miranda has already warned him to not even think about "Flaming on" while he was wearing that tux. The thing was worth a small fortune and blah, blah, blah. After all this time, didn't she trust him?

Despite her warning, it was hard to resist being his usual brash self when he knew all eyes were upon him, but he'd promised to behave himself, and he'd stick to that promise as much as he could. At least, he wasn't stripping, so that was a plus.

Still, he couldn't help but swagger and show off a little, producing a small flame at his fingertips as he blew a few kisses to the crowd. He was Johnny Storm, after all. He had a reputation to maintain, and the crowd didn't seem to mind.

He turned in place, unbuttoning his jacket to flash a view of the vest and shirt and tie he wore underneath. When he was finished, he unpinned the boutonni're from his lapel and tossed it to some lucky guest in the crowd. Imagine his surprise when it landed in the hands of Rhonda, one of his co-firefighters, who had a more well-defined set of biceps than he did. She tossed him a saucy wink and a kiss for his trouble, and Johnny flushed scarlet, hurrying off stage before his temperature caused him to burst into flames.

He just hoped his wife didn't kill him, but at least, the suit was still intact, just like he'd promised!

Carter English

Date: 2016-07-27 01:23 EST
"Proof that a boxer scrubs up just as well as a shiny new penny, here we have Carter English, looking all kinds of dapper in a smart morning suit by Harvard Rowd. Constructed in silk - yes, silk - this gray/black blend is almost a must for a summer wedding, designed to keep the wearer cool while still looking his smart, crisp best."

Carter had felt the weight of the expo on his shoulders since arriving. It was a peculiar thing to be a lone, single man in a crowd of gushing women, happily smitten boyfriends or soon to be husbands, and any children that had been running back and forth with their parents smacking their hands from touching too much of the vendors items. It was in the back where the models were put together like gorgeous birds or well dressed libertines that he found a few to trade introductions with, even being familiar with a small handful who had also volunteered their time.

Now, though, he was filing out across the stage after a red head that even the bruiser couldn't help but double take at when she passed by. His main point of focus was the crowd after that where he wasn't shy about splitting a grin around his teeth for those that were there — specifically any woman that he happened to catch eyes with. Dressed better than he usually would be found, out of his element in the noose of a tie or the cut of the suit that helped define his shoulders, unable to resist a momentary lapse of smarmy behavior when cutting a wink out to some unknown lamb with brunette hair out in the audience.

Carter took his time to undo the jacket. Took even a minute too long in undressing from it before it made a good prop when swung over his left shoulder during his ringside swagger back across the stage to retrace his original steps.

"Jack of all trades, but perhaps best known for his role in Rhy'Din Nights, Asher Price gives all of us a run for our money in this gorgeous Harvard Rowd black velvet dinner jacket. Maybe a little hot for a summer day, but for those long cool nights, this one is perfect. With lapels of cashmere to contrast, the black slacks and bowtie are of a wool-cashmere blend designed to hold your smart silhouette no matter what you're doing."

All grins as he was, Asher owned the runway for the scant moments that he walked it. Sure he'd never done the modeling thing before but he'd watched more than enough Victoria's Secret shows in his day so he strutted like the best of them, posing and turning, turning and posing. With a sharp turn and a cheeky heel click, he started back the way he came, shooting one exuberant wink over his shoulder along the way.

Demeter Ashton

"Demeter Forster, a local psychologist possessed of some truly amazing funbags, is modeling a gown by an up and coming designer, Rea Marplatz. A gothic twist to the bridal look, with a full ballroom silhouette, this gown boasts a strapless, sweetheart neckline, fitted bodice, and full skirt falling to a chapel train; in printed black and silver silk with an overlay of sheer black organza, and a crystal encrusted waistline."

Strapless was not a dress style Demeter would immediately have gone for, had she been given the choice. But the dress surprised her. It was so structured that she didn't need the military-class underwear she'd been expecting, her ample bust more than supported in the boned corset that was a part of the bodice.

And it was a beautiful dress. Dark and princessy, it was more of a ballgown than anything. Not that she was complaining. She was just deeply aware of the fact that if she walked too closely to people, they were in danger of being knocked over by her voluminous skirts.

But out on the catwalk, it didn't matter. Channeling the skills she had learned through almost a decade of modeling, she swept down the catwalk with enviable confidence, twirling in mid-walk to show off the dress even before she reached the end of the runway. Once there, the poses came easily - both hands at the hips, shoulders straight; one hip thrust out, back curved; hands left at the sides, torso turned, head looking back over one shoulder. They were all positions she could do in her sleep after so many years of training, and she was surprised by how comfortable she was to be on display once again.

Still, it was a relief to sweep out of sight again. Fun though modeling was, she was definitely never going to make it her career again.

Peaches

Date: 2016-07-31 13:03 EST
"Wearing a gown inspired by royal rose gardens, who better to showcase it than sweet Peaches Haggarty' Another collaboration between Miranda and Jessamin Taylor, this dress has sharp edge details surrounding the body to create a very statuesque silhouette. It has a deep plunging v-neckline on both front and back, with sheer sleeves and organza side details that reach outward. The front of the dress, and the hem of the skirt together with its chapel train, are hand-beaded with crystals and sequins."

Last, but certainly never least, Peaches made her way down the stage in the ornament of a wedding dress, slip of a thing, a sheer drape of glamour; this was as close as she would get to doing something closely resembling a wedding of her own.

Miranda Bennett

Miranda waited until Peaches had exited the catwalk before stepping out on stage. Though not bridal or formal wear, she was dressed in one of her own designs - a strapless, tea-length sheath with a fitted bodice in blue satin, and a layered, flared hem of white applique net in black. She wore her hair swept up off her neck, her only accessories that of a pair of simple diamond earrings, bracelet, and, of course, her wedding ring. Her shoes were a favorite pair of designer black heels that she'd brought with her when she'd moved back to Rhy'Din from Manhattan.

She beamed a smile as she joined Mataya at the microphone, air kissing her friend's cheek. "Thank you so much! By the way," she said, one hand indicating the woman at her side. "Doesn't she look gorgeous?"

She waited a moment for the applause to die down before continuing. "For those of you who don't know me, I'm Miranda Granger-Bennett, and I'm here to thank you all for joining us today for Rhy'Din's First Wedding Show and Expo.

"Why a Wedding Show on Rhy'Din, you might ask, and I say why not' What better way to showcase so many of our talented and hard-working designers, artisans, and craftsmen than to invite them to an event like this where they can show off their wares" What better way to show everyone what Rhy'Din has to offer, and not just for brides, but for everyone?

"I'd like to thank everyone who's worked so hard to make this show possible, especially Mataya De Luca for volunteering to emcee this event. To Colleen MacLeod-Fenner, for offering us the use of the Botanical Gardens and Observatory. To Zazzy Yas and WHAM 101 for promoting the event and for the music. To The Lost Pub and Brewery for the delicious luncheon. To all the beautiful models for donating their time and talent. To all the vendors who came out today to showcase their wares and to all those who so generously donated items for the raffle, which will benefit The Rhy'Din Welcome Center & Small Business Fund - two very worthy causes!

"Most importantly, thanks to all of you who've joined us here today. Without you, your support, and your patronage, businesses like those featured here wouldn't be able to thrive and grow in Rhy'Din. If you haven't done so already, I urge you to give them a visit. You don't have to be planning a wedding to patronize the many varied shops featured here today!

"And last, but certainly not least, I'd like to thank my family for their continued love and support. Most of all, to my husband, Rufus, and my beautiful daughters, Bethany and Rowan, without whom my life would be empty and without whose love and understanding, none of this would have been possible. Love you, all!" she said, pausing a moment to blow her loves a kiss before looking back to the crowd gathered there.

"Again, thank you all for coming and for making this event a success. I hope you all enjoy yourselves, and hopefully, I will see you all again next year, if not sooner!"

With that said, she joined her family to enjoy what remained of the day's events, as she hoped everyone else would, as well.

All in all, she was very pleased with how things had turned out and hopeful that the Rhy'Din Wedding Show and Expo would become an annual event.
