The Governor's St. Patrick's Day plans had a change or two. The location was moved to the Cardinal Inn in Old Market and a large clover shaped cake was being served for dessert. Green and white balloons decorated the inn's porch.

A variety of food including the Cardinal's famous chili was being served. Elaine Aqua provided cake pops in several flavors including chocolate, vanilla, and mint. Nicole Brock was on hand to make boxty (potato pancakes) as well as her popular pizzas. Guinness and other Irish born drinks were on tap. For the younger set, there were green vanilla and mint flavored shakes in cups adorned with a rainbow and pot of gold motif. Gifts for the guests came in the form of caps, socks, mugs, and a variety of t-shirts. In the backyard, some carnival game booths were set up. In the center, beer and soda pong games were already busy. An elderly lady sat at a table reading tea leaves for those wanting a peek into their future.

Clad in her favorite jeans, Maggie the Baby Baroness, donned a green t-shirt and white baseball cap. She was going to face off with her brother, Rick, in soda pong.

A small band that included Colleen on the fiddle was playing lively Irish tunes. Catie Harker showed off her dancing skills. They expected to have a few soloists join them throughout the day.

The rule of the day was to have fun, enjoy the company, and eat well! https://cfc.polyvoreimg.com/cgi/img-set/.sig/GCT5oQo50v0mWE7jewC58w/cid/236654554/id/JpdC6iop6BGCBfxQmQc2pA/size/c600x550.jpg

((This is a board only event. Don't burn down the inn! :D Please post your Polyvores in this thread! Feel free to have your characters sing with the band, roam the grounds, play the games, get a tea leaf reading, and just have fun! Anyone that's too tipsy to leave on their own would be escorted to one of the inn's room for a good night's sleep. ))

Of course Doran was there; Maggie had made sure to remind him to come, and to bring Sylva as well. In deference to the holiday, he wore a green tunic atop his shirt and jeans. After enjoying a bowl of chili—"What do you mean, it's not an Irish food?!"—he took up the tinwhistle and joined Collie and Co. in playing a set of Celtic tunes while Sylva danced.

Later in the evening, Doran challenged Sylva to a round of soda pong (she won, 3 out of 5), and shared cake pops with her, Maggie, and others.
