Sublimation
IC Description: What local scientists are calling "nodal" or "Nexus Fallout' as a result of a temporary disruption of the RhyDin axis is causing space-time rifts to erupt all over RhyDin. The unstable, fluctuating nature of these rifts make them difficult to recognize, but those portals that have been detected and successfully discontinued have a unique tendency to continuously alter a two-foot radius between various physical states of matter. RhyDin residents, should they encounter or recognize any signs and symptoms of Nexus fallout, are strongly encouraged to contact the hazmat team temporarily set up at the National Weather Service Center, who will attend to each report individually.
OOC Description: Sublimation is a site-wide, time-sensitive event that extends to all corners of RhyDin. However, though its reach is broad (in that repercussions of Nexus fallout could affect neighboring countries or traffic to and from RhyDin), each incident is inherently isolated. This means that rifts may form anywhere you like, and affect as much or as little as you desire. If your character is fortunate enough to avoid all instances of this phenomenon, that is perfectly fine! If your character's house miraculously disappears, that is fine, too. The story is shaped by however players wish to take advantage of it.
As "time-space rifts" is a generic term, here are some ideas as to how a player can participate: - Character engages in expected or unexpected time travel - Character is transported briefly (or longer) to an alternate version of RhyDin - Character interacts with his or her alternate from another dimension - A character's major life event is relived or revised, based on the choice whether or not to change it - Having the opportunity to play an old character who has died or has been shelved/retired, if only for a short while
These are just a few ideas, and by no means limit the scope of the story. The possibilities are endless!
How it affects you: Again, you choose whether you wish to participate. Though as of right now this SL will be time-sensitive (in that at present, the situation should resolve in 1-2 months unless new occurrences force it to remain open longer, or it is just far too exciting to end), the impact on your character may be as minor or major as you like.

The Rules: You are free to pursue this SL how you will, and if there is a particular rift that is open that your character desires to close (a door to the past, perhaps"), he or she is free to do so. The rifts are random, but isolating the right technological frequency or utilizing a mending spell can certainly do the trick. However, it is not OK if you attempt to "quick-fix" and solve the entire problem.

If you have an idea and are unsure of whether it corresponds to the SL, PM me! If your idea isn't exactly isolated and feel it deserves more attention (for example, a mention in The RhyDin Post), PM me and I can try to work with you. If you have any questions at all, PM me! Throughout the course of the SL I will be initiating small events that you may choose to partake in. It is entirely up to you.
Best of luck, and most importantly, have fun!
