From July 28-August 4* the RhyDin Revival Project will be hosting a week of fun in the sun!

Ferries from The Docks will take you do a lovely beach island to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a while.

The island features long stretches of soft white sand beaches with three main sections:

The Shallows— Perfect for those who are looking for calm, shallow waters. No deeper than 4 feet until it hits a large sand bar about a quarter of a mile out. Minimal waves.

The Wave Pool— A curved bay where the breakers really roll in! Perfect for a boogie board or body surfing.

The Reef— A long stretch of a rock jetty and corals perfect for snorkeling (equipment provided).


Along the beaches are several cabanas for people to escape from the sun for a while.

A walking path winds through the tropical interior. Mostly flat, slow strollers will find it takes about an hour or so to complete.

Each beach features a buffet with all different kinds of foods, though those wishing to bring their own sustenance are more than welcome.

Events

Sand Castle Competition: Get out your buckets, shovels and molds! One stretch of beach has been cordoned off for the sand castle garden, ready and waiting for participants to shape the tiny grains into beautiful creations. The sand here is suspiciously good at holding together. All skill levels welcome. Participants have until 5pm on the 4th to complete their castles. Prizes TBA.

Fireworks: Every night at full dark the sky will be lit up with spectacular bursts of light over the water.

"Yes, yes, set it up right here."

Josie waved her ring-heavy hand at the flat stretch of white sand beach that she had decided was just right. The cadre of strapping young menfolk who had schlepped across the island toting bamboo posts and airy white material looked hot, sweaty, and just about ready to murder their lovely boss who didn't so much of a bead of perspiration doting her pristine forehead. This was the third spot they she had just almost settled on.

"Hmm....What do you think about the breeze coming off the—" Her words were cut short by the boys plowing past her to start their hasty constructions before she could change her mind. She huffed. "Fine. I guess this will do."

While the boys set to constructing the temporary cabanas, Josie set off to explore the island some. There was a mai tai with her name on it and sure enough it came in an adorable coconut cup complete with fruit garnish and a little paper umbrella. She partook of food being grilled up at one of the beaches, then circled back to check on the set up.

"Marvelous! Now get out there and put up some flyers!" She waved at her helpers. They grumped, but they were well paid.

All across the island, where appropriate, and back in the city, flyers went up:
