The Worth of Man How It Works

" If you wish to participate, either send a PM to myself (Mana D'Sanguine) or the Ophanim will approach randomly in the Red Dragon Inn settings.. At this point, the Ophanim will ask you the infamous question: "What would this world be without you in it?" This can mean one of two things:

1. Your character isn't born at all, OR 2. Your character simply never came to Rhy'Din.

The option is entirely up to you.

" The Ophanim will then offer up a very freakish-looking hourglass. You can either accept and take it, or decline. If you choose to take the Hourglass you will be shown a Rhy'Din without you in it. This is meant to be kind of dark and more in-your-face. Much less...."white-bread" than "It's a Wonderful Life".

" Your character then may react however they are wont. Reactions may be posted or linked under "The Worth of Man: Character Reactions". If you have a reaction posted under another folder, feel free to link it here.

" In the final week of the Event, the Ophanim will appear a second time to those that have taken Hourglasses from him. Depending on the reactions of your characters, the Ophanim will react either favourably or not.

Favourable Reaction: The Ophanim will ask you to keep the Hourglass given you and bless it to reveal positive aspects of your character. This hourglass will continue to do so if or until the lessons learned are forgotten. If Ego or Arrogance is gained, the hourglass will reveal unfavourable aspects of your character as a reminder of the balance between proper self-confidence and proper humility without self-loathing.

Unfavourable Reaction: The Ophanim will command you to keep the Hourglass given you and curse it to reveal the times you have failed or other negative aspects of your character. The hourglass will continue to do so until or if the lesson of Humility is learned. If the lesson of Humility is learned, the hourglass will change, becoming the glass of a favourable reaction.

" The Long and Short of It: The Ophanim is here to either bring down an overinflated or arrogant ego, or to uplift the uncertain. There is a line to walk on between Arrogance and Confidence. He is here to teach that lesson, albeit in a harsh, in-your-face kind of way.

" If you wish to collaborate on Character Reactions or do the entire encounter via the Forums, PM me with a concise list of your character's exploits, good, bad and ugly.

This list does not need to be comprehensive and is intended as a comparison between what has been done and the World Without You.

" The Event will go on until January 31, 2013 in order to help with Mundane timings.

If you have additional questions, PM me at Mana D'Sanguine.
