Sunday 12/9 " Harbor Lights Ceremony " 8 PM-11 PM ET " The Docks (live event)

The official launch of the RhyDin holiday season as the tall ships in the harbor, RhyDin's iconic lighthouse, and the city's historic buildings along the waterways are lit for the Yule season with thousands of colorful fairy lights.

Afterwards (and nightly through the Yule season " free play), special holiday ferries will offer romantic tours of RhyDin's waterways. The trip begins at the Harbormaster's building, traveling up the river for a spectacular view of the city's waterfront before turning at the mouth of New Haven Lake for the return trip downstream. The ferry then circles Overlord Isle and returns to the docks.

Watch here for more details!

Sunday 12/9 " Harbor Lights Ceremony " 8 PM-11 PM ET ? Dockside (live event)

In addition to the ferry rides, along the dock areas are four ships. (Map below of each ships location)

The Jammer Rammer —Plays festive music from its deck that can be heard all along the docks. A dance floor is on the main dock right in front of the ship. Come dancing!

———- The HoHoHo Runner: Shoots wrapped hard candies & white glitter snowflakes over the docks every half hour ———————

Santa's Helper: This is the Food & Drink ship.

———- The Jingle Runner: Has a large snow machine on its deck creating a winter wonderland snow on the dock in front of it, for snowball fights or impromptu snowman building contests. ((Have some fun —maybe do both, build a snowman that serves as a shield from incoming snowballs!))

Aja went to the docks daily, so her presence there was nothing new, today was no exception. She was checking out which captains would be around the night of the Winterfest event. Most who were originally going to be docked, decided to leave early to avoid the event.

Aja understood. There would be Watch members around, the law and pirates generally didn't mix well. They made them uneasy. Pirates like to come and go as they wished, Watch members often would view pirates under the automatic assumption that because they were pirates, they had to have done something wrong.

But some decided to stay, per her request. To hang a banner on their ship temporarily renaming their vessels for the purpose Aja needed them. Other smaller ships agreed to decorate their ships with lights for the event. The harbor master was delighted to help out and he helped her in getting those buildings along the main dock to decorate as well. It took all day, but the guests of Winterfest Event would be treated to a winter wonderland done in mariner style that year.

And for one night, the pirates of RhyDin Harbor would be part of a community.

A gift that each guest will be receiving from an authentic pirate (just cleaned up) as they arrive at the dock area:

"Merry Yule ta ya, Matey!" the pirates call as they hand each guest the Silver bell charm, with a peppermint flower on a festive stick ornament.

One of the smaller ships in the harbor, the Whispering Wind offers a more intimate and romantic setting for the cruise down the harbor and back. Done up with Christmas lights strung up to look like a Christmas tree, a star on top included.

http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q683/bdawgholyfield/christmasshipsgambler.jpg

The interior is sectioned off into four cubicles, with candlelit tables set for two.

Dinner is old fashioned, comfort food.

In addition to the above lovely vessels, Lowe & d'Thalia Shipping will have three vessels:

The large full-rigger Marietta, lit on all masts and yardarms in red to gold to warm white, that will begin at deck level and flourish upwards to complete the show.

The brigantine Al Na'ir, lit in blues and whites.

The full-rigger Carina, lit in green and red, with holly-leaves hanging from the masts.

The Daily Bread has also provided a number of cookies, pastries and pies for the festivities, courtesy of Bertie and Ralmo Hausenfelter.

She may not be as well decorated as the others, but the Bedlam has opened her enclosed lower decks to provide warming space for the guests. Envior fields over the open sides keep the warmth in, and the cold out while allowing guests to still enjoy the sights and sounds of the festivities.
