Dakeyras DNyte

Date: 2007-11-30 19:33 EST
Dakeyras wakes with a start and sputters as a bucket of cold water is flung into his face. A growl is given as he attempts to wipe the water from his face, but fails, due to the chains that are keeping him tightly attached to the wall. "Damn. I forgot about that," He mutters to himself as a trickle of the water rolls across a small gash across his cheek. "I was hoping that this was a bad dream or somethin'."

Emerald colored eyes lifted from the ground to look around his surroundings. He was in a bare room. It didn't have the usual dungeon style, but none the less he was trapped. Also judging by the total lack of humidity in the air he was probably still in Egypt, or at least one of the desert countries. Finally his eyes rested upon the large man with the bucket still in hand. He was being nice when he said large too, in all honesty his captor was just a fat Egyptian. One of those men that ruled by treachery and got plump with over taxing and thievery of his peoples wares. But one thing that was different from this man than his people, he wasn't human. He was darker than most, and if it wasn't for his turban one would see pointy ears. Dake looked upon the fat Drow and shook his head. "Xun naut talinth nindolen sluden orn mir uns'aa whol verve. " He said with a hint of an otherworldly voice in the Drow's native tongue. "Usstan orn elgg dos. Usstan iglata dos nindel."

The Drowish Sheik looked at Dakeyras with a look of mild amusement as he set the bucket down on a small table. "You will find those bonds harder to break that you think my little half breed . You see I know what you are. I can smell one of my own kind from miles away." He stood next to Dakeyras, looking down upon him with a look of disgust before he spat upon his face. "You're a disgrace. I wish I knew who your parents were so I could have them killed for creating such an abomination. To think an Ilythiiri mating with a human." The Sheik then raised a hand striking Dake across the face. "Those chains are resistant to Drow magic. I use them for special occasions such as this."

As Dake's head snapped to the side from the blow to his face he closed his eyes, but his lips twisted into a small grin. "Indeed, I am a half breed. I was cast out of the Underdark as an abomination to the Ilythiiri. But..I am far from human." He said as he opened his eyes looking up to the sheik, by now the emerald color of his eyes was replaced with a deep crimson that expanded across his both whole eyes. Extending his fingers on both hands, six inch claws began to form on his fingertips. "I do have to thank you. If you weren't standing where you are I wouldn't be able to do this." He said as he used the shadow that the Sheik created across him to slip through his bonds, and one clawed hand quickly found it's place around the fat Sheiks neck. "I am a demon." He hissed the words as the Sheik scrambled, terrified, trying to pry Dake's fingers from his neck, the claws already biting into his flesh. "Your people will rejoice in the streets once they find your body. Maybe I'll put it in the square so they'll be sure to find it right away." Dake then shrugged. "Eh, screw it. They'll find you soon enough I'm sure.." A final smirk rested upon his lips as his claws dug deep into the Sheik's throat, ending his life.

"People should learn not to assume." He rolled his eyes as he shook the blood from his claws. "How am I kidding. They're still assuming hundreds of years from now." He looked over himself quickly. He was missing his shirt and his boots. But at least his pants were still intact. Rather than trying to hunt them down he grabbed a set of robes that was hanging on the wall and put them on. As he rose the hood up to cover his head, he was heading outside to go back towards his ship.

He had been in the Sheik's Palace of Cairo, finding this out after he ran into several guards blocking his way out of the room he was being held in. At times he felt sorry for the people of this realm. They were almost always totally ignorant of magic and felt that humanity was the only race that existed. Watching a grown man piss himself at the sight of a demon just wasn't a good thing to witness. He was only a block or so away from the Palace when the cities bells began to sound off. Looking up into the sky he sighed. "Well at least it's dark out. I'd hate to have to take on the whole city guard." Dake then turned and moved into an alleyway and started taking the long way around to the port. He had instructed the crew of his ship, The Darkened Spiral, that if there was ever an alarm sounded to cut all ties and move out to open water before the guard had a chance to shut down the port.

After about twenty minutes of running through the city giving the guards a good chase through allyways and over rooftops he made it to the port. Looking around he was happy to see that his ship was nowhere to be seen. Guards were crawling over the place as well. All he needed to know was that his crew was out of danger and on their way. He was the one that was being hunted, not them, and he liked to keep it that way. Turning around to walk back into the alley that he came out of he whispered. "Guess I'm going to have to come back and see if I can find you another time Genesis. Hopefully next time will be better than this." He said before his hand touched the shadowed wall and then passed through it, disappearing from the street.

The deck of the Darkened Spiral was just as its name said, it was dark. Which gave a shadow demon any number of entry points to use. Stepping out from the wall behind the Captains Wheel he looked around and spotted his First Mate, Ammon. Ammon was an Egyptian that Dake had hired many years ago, but had remained the best of the best. Dake grinned to the Egyptian for a moment. "I do hope that it wasn't that hard to get out of port."

Ammon studied Dakeyras for a moment before shaking his head. "We were already in open water before they even realized we were leaving. What did you do this time?" He said matter-of-factly to his Captain.

Dake simply shrugged. "The Sheik knocked me out, tried to kill me for being a half breed. I done him in before he could me." He shook off the robes that he had stolen and threw them over the side of the ship. "I needed a change of scenery anyway. Let's head towards Rhy'Din. I have the strangest feeling that I need to go there."

Ammon looked at Dake with a curious gaze for a brief moment before he gave a nod. "It shall be done Captain, but why there?"

Dakeyras gave a shrug as he looked over the water. "I don't know. It's just a feeling."
