Katerrina stormed out of the Outback. She wasn't sure how she'd gotten there, only that she wanted to fight. And fight she did. Master Travanix would've been pleased at the force of her strikes, the unease in her opponent's eyes. But he was dead. Killed before her eyes before she could stop it. The Elder and the other vanished before she could do anything. The city would suffer for their cowardice.

The first person who crossed her path was a hustler looking for a spare copper. Katerrina grabbed the man by the wrist and threw him into a building. Blood smeared the wall as he crumpled to the street. She kept walking.

The next was a street walker who thought the girl in the black unitard was a competitor. The woman took a step towards her. Katerrina clenched her fist. The woman grabbed her chest, and her eyes bugged out. In seconds the woman was a heap in the gutter. Katerrina kept walking.

A gang of youth saw the pretty girl walk into an alley. They saw an easy target for robbery and sport. A dozen boys followed her in. There was a flash of purple light. Katerrina walked out of the alley. The gang would never walk again.

Her blood-red eyes sent witnesses running for cover. No one dared get in her way. No one saw the hot tears drip behind her as she walked on.
