Valentine Manor was haunted by happy memories - echoing in all that empty space. And if you are wondering how a place can be haunted by good memories than you have probably never lost someone you love. In the end" It's all the beautiful memories that will inflict the most pain. Every wonderful moment you cherish will also eat at you. Even though it may have been the most real your life has ever been" Now it might as well have been only a dream. Dwelling in this time past kills you a little each and every time you indulge it. It feels wonderful for a minute, you can almost relive those moments, but it leaves you feeling worse than before. Almost like a drug addiction.

Faye had shut herself up alone in her house with her memories. They were all she had left. This estate was the most incredible place Faye could remember ever calling home. But it had once been filled with Lucy's bright presence and beautiful voice " now the silence was penetrating. It wasn't just Lucy Faye had lost. Even though Lang was alive and well in the world" The fact he thought ill of her hurt. She couldn't even admit to herself how much she missed him. It was all just too much.

One day though Faye got tired of moping. This wasn't Faye's style" Sitting around feeling sorry for herself. She was resilient and you just can't keep Lady Luck down. Luck may turn against you in the blink of an eye but it can return it's favor just as quickly.

What Faye needed was to throw herself back into work. In Rhy"Din though, it was suicide to work alone on most high profile cases. But there was a solution - she needed a team. Unfortunately most bounty hunters don't play well with others? But she knew someone who she could definitely work with.

Ideas were forming in her mind as she rose from her position and dusted herself off. Her car roared to life of its own accord before she even made it to the door. She was on a mission now.

Spike the cowboy

Spike had just awoken and was laying upon one of the booths in the Red dragon inn. Nursing a hangover as usual. Running fingers through his overgrown bush of hair. His eyes closed as sleep was trying to come back to him. Then a fammiliar voice caught his ears. A eyeball popped open and scanned the room "Faye?" It was the queen of hearts. She just smiled to him and took a seat at the bar. " So, how are you doing spike?" She asked in that seductive tone she perfected. " Drunk, and bored as usual" Her replied with a groan as he moved into the kitchen. Comming back out with an egg. Prairie oyster concocted and drained. Leaning on the bar to look at faye. " Well i was thinking.." " That we should form a buisness like the old days?" Spike was musing over the same idea as well, but wanted faye to be the first to ask for help. After all he was a man and ned did not ask women for help did they' She just stared at him blankly. How did he know her thoughts" Was she that transpant. " Yeah i miss the chase." She spoke softly. " Bull- You ran out of money and need more." Spike retorted with a smirk. " I know the queen of hearts to well." " The money is just an incentive, Are you interested are not?" She growled out. Spike just sighs. " Ya just cant ask straight can ya. The H word aint in your vocab. Yeah i will help..need somthing to do." Faye smiled and rose. " Then lets discuss more over dinner." Turning around letting those swaying hips do the leading. Spike put a cig to his mouth. A grin still upon his lips as he followed. This should get interesting. A dinner date with the queen of hearts.

Faye and Spike arrived at Valentine Manor in style. The black convertible driving itself as Faye leaned back in the seat with her usual air of casual coolness. The vehicle knew exactly where to go. Her house could not be found, except by those who knew where it was. If he paid attention to the way he would be among the few who could locate it now.

Walking up the drive way with pride she would lead him inside with a grin. It was nice to be able to show off how well she had done for herself since coming to town. Of course....This was all thanks to her generous patron. But that had nothing to do with Spike so she hadn't mentioned it yet.

Opening the door she looked back over her shoulder, sending a sexy smile his way. Faye then gave him these odd instructions, "Now Spike I want you to imagine your heart's desired dinner." A wink before stepping inside, beckoning him to follow with a finger. He would find the mansion spacious and tastefully decorated. There were little things that would suggest a woman's touch to it that wasn't Faye's. Not to mention it wasn't messy, Spike would probably be surprised by this fact.

Leading him straight to the dinning room that was to the right he would find a table set with every dish that had come to his mind. The chandelier above had candles burning in it, giving the whole room a flickering glow. These candles though didn't drip wax and never burned out.

A smirk tugged at the corners of her lips as she sat down, hardly even bothering to glance at what was on the table. Just watching for his reaction she said, "Take a seat."

Spike looked about the mansion with a smirk. Cig placed between his lips and lit. " Seems like ya cleaned him out before he dumped you? Spike always had to be the wise ass. Making his way to the indicated seat. Lowering himself down upon the chair. Leaning back. Eyes focused upon hers. Then to the food. Dish lifted up and fork dug into some pasta stuff. Gulping and smacking. Lifting up a glas of wine to wash it down.:: " Y know..Jet woof luv teh ave the reshepis for dis stuff." Speaking mouth half full.
