In the Marketplace was a shop whose sign hung on sturdy hinges. The shop was older than the sign, about a year ago a new one had been put up to give the place a fresher look. The store front was not enormous, it stretched about fifteen feet and in the windows were some of the clothes.

Shane had learned to be a tailor when he was a kid in Ireland. It was one of the professions that was good for younger workers and also for poor families that needed to keep clothes on their backs. When he got an offering to come to Rhydin and work under Harvey....well, he took it so fast it could make someone's head spin.

He was not particularly neat or methodical. One would think a tailor would need that to make anything worth while but since Shane could remember he just got it. There was something to material and sewing that he just understood.

Harvey had decided to retire and so....now it was that the shop, "Keeping You in Stitches" had become his own. He made the most money making wedding dresses. He made a few pennies here and there with alterations and at times, sold the clothes he built up. He had a young apprentice that worked for him, followed his designs and helped keep clothes on the racks. Lately he'd been wondering if he should hire someone else.

The day was brisk. Autumn was coming and he was excited. Food was always magnificent this time of year. Taking a chair he pulling it outside of his shop, using it to prop the door open before he sat in it himself to take a swallow of his coffee. Maybe there was a chance to reel in a few more dollars before the day was done. Maybe a friendly face sitting outside the shop would do it.
