It had been weeks since he began stalking her, watching her. He traced her movements, watched who she interacted with. The power she had was incredible. He was sure to record the results of her powers, making sure that they could be handled and dealt with little to no issues. He paid off merchants and sources to provide additional details regarding her life and her personality. He had watched her a few times before, having few conversations with her in the past.
This was different.
Weeks more had gone by, tracking her still. He knew her routine now, watching where she went. Her friends were now known to him. Some would be a problem, some would not. It wouldn't take long before he could handle her completely.
It was time.
Her morning routine took her through the city as always. She was a happy and gentle soul. He stayed within the shadows. The temperature this morning was enough to cover the chill that surrounded him. It had taken a few days, but a special sedative was created just for her, knowing what he know about her biology. That in itself seemed to take the most time. Of course, if it didn't work, he would have no choice but to kill her. A quick death would come from the other item in his pocket. Based again on her biology and his studies, he know that the other item would kill her quickly, leaving very little trace.
However, as he pondered the mixture he was prepared to use, it would no doubt work. Romax was comprehensive in his research. He began to move through the streets. The crowds were increasing as people were beginning to move on through their humdrum lives. He fondled the object in his hand a moment, preparing it for what would come. He slowly approached her as she stopped to do some quick window shopping.
So predictable.
He moved with a predator's silence. The ease of which he slipped his hand up to the back of her neck, one would have thought he was familiar with her. The poisoned nub brushed over her flesh, flashing into her body with very little resistance. It would bolt through her body, finding every nerve, seeking out her conscience mind, rendering her unconscious.
She slumped, and he was there to catch her easily enough. He smiled as the people went past. "She is not feeling very well today. She has just fainted." He explained, as he picked her up gently, like a lover taking his sweetheart. "She will be alright in a few days." The black uniformed figure was sure she would be fine.
For at least a few days.
He quietly carried her off of the main streets, to one of the many side streets. Even the daylight still had shadows that obeyed him.
And they were gone.
