The brilliance of a light burst through the darkness of the waters' darkest depths.

Harsh, blinding white was the color at first that dimmed in hue only to shades kinder on the eyes of reds, greens, golds. They swirled and churned where only hurtful white had been. And they moved about a slender form of sand, red, and green.

Within the waters, open-eyed and curious, Senay looked about with silver eyes. The initial intrusion of her kors'waying (traveling without swimming by use of magic) from her familiar hart'rayns (home waters) sent local fish and other water creatures darting and fleeing in all other directions. It only lasted a few moments.

Creatures of the seas could be startled at first. Some attacked, while others fled. When those that had fled looked back to see what had frightened them, then turned about and drew closer until they hovered in the same water with her.

Senay smiled. It was enough to warm the waters immediately around her. The creatures backed up, not accustomed to the sudden warmth, but did not flee again so soon. Her hair of golden, ember red flowed about her head, long and graceful. Her hands moved through the depths in a way that kept her where she was so that the others could come to know her.

While they did, her looked upwards, to where water met air. Her tongue peeked out to taste the water and then breathed it so that she knew the Ways. It was an unfamiliar place. All at the same time, she was excited to be there, to swim in new waters and to make news friends, but she was also afraid. New places brought danger.

She pushed the last thought back and looked about to the dolphins, fish, and creatures in the waters around her...the likes she had never seen before. The young Undine smiled and with a push of her tale, she swam with them.

Currents were followed the same ways that Humans and others traveled roads. The young Undine, in her twentieth summer of undter'sols, sped along through surface where the sun shone bright enough to light the way completely. She smiled silent but open to those she swam with. Her arms were along her sides and tight so that when she moved her tail more it increased her speak. Red, ember-fire hair flowed closely against her shoulders and back at those speeds.

Laughing, she raced a dolphin who was a little slower with his need to surface for air at times. After a while they started to slow down and entered an inlet. The others would not go any closer, unless they were the smaller fish who started to play closer to inland.

Senay surfaced with the dolphins and looked at cheek-level to the lands on the horizon. Ships, docks, people. Beyond that were buildings and hills. Curiosity lit like stars in her eyes. She might near it, eventually, but she wanted to swim some more. Her arms slid slow and strong through the water around her, to turn her form and face away from the land, its Humans and others, and she shoved down into the depths of the water to swim with the depth-dwellers for a few hours. She would happily say her greetings to them as well.
