~~~~~Having recently returned from Caledonia, she was glad to be back "home". Her staff seemed truly happy to see her. The castle was in perfect condition just as she had left it. She had seen a few people she recognized since she came back. No one that she would normally speak to, so she didn't figure to now.
The few times she was in the Inn, she did hear whispers and bits of conversations about missing dragons. Each time she went to the Inn, she did find that odd.....Icer wasn't there. And Aurthur usually was there beside her. People begin to notice when HUGE dragons are no longer in their midst.
Rhydin had an odd vibration about it. Nothing she over heard or anything...it was just....different. She picked up on it the moment she entered the towne proper. Folks acted differently. And there were so many new faces! And what of the old ones" Where had they all gone to"
Returning home late this evening, it was actually early morning of the next day. After undressing and bathing, she put on one of her gowns which had a matching robe. Some how her maid knew to change out her clothing. Lash's dressing smelled of sweet lavendar, her maid lines all her clothing drawers with it. It was already much warmer here than it was in Caledonia when she left it. Opening her balcony door, stepping out, placing her hands on the cool marble, she smiled.
She remembers many a night when different love's of her life, used that entrance to her room, or merely appeared to her there. As the wind blew the hair back off her face....her bright eyes darkening in order to see better. She stared up into the dark early morning sky. The moon had yet to receed from its place, allowing the sun to arrive.
Lasherette stared up at "her" star. Her Papa Beresford telling her it was all hers and hers alone, and it would never die out...it would forever follow her at night, no matter how old she got. A sort of grin crossed her face then. Wondering if her Papa could see her now. Would he be proud of her" Would he be ashamed of some the things she'd done"
She realized she wasted alot of her time "looking" for THE right man. She vowed she would no longer look. In the scheme of life...no one should wait on anyone. If you find them, then wonderful. If you dont...then while it may be sad...it shouldnt effect your daily judgement. Your daily life! That had been a hard lesson to learn.
Going to Calednia did that for Lasherette. It gave her alot of time to reflect on her life thus far. And to be honest, she had little to show for it. She had acccomplished very little. Then the day came of realization. She had wasted so much love...so much time....so much of herself to lovers. That was indeed a very tormented day for her. Reliving each and every love affair...how they ended...what a fool she was.
Bowing her head to the dark sky. She prayed to the powers that be. She prayed for strength, guidance, wisdom, and most of all peace. Returning back inside to her bedroom, she grabbed one of her many embroidery hoops she had begun yet never finished. Curling up in the couch that faced the hearth. Picking up where she left off, she began her stitching again. Lash would probably fall asleep there. Just as she has every night since she came home. Though the sheets are clean, and the bed is made up beautifully...she has yet to sleep in it.~~~~~
~~~~~Having her morning tea, she asked about the Oracle but was told that they no longer were running it. There was a Gossip Rag, but that was it as far as "news". Thinking on that for a long moment, she wondered what if anything was happening to Gav and Des. Last she heard they had their baby. But she did know that they did ALOT in towne, perhaps too much, and something had to give.

Of course she was curious about what happened to some of the familiar faces she used to see in the Inn. They seemed to be permanent fixtures. Not that there was anything wrong with that. It gave the Inn a "homey" feel. Returning the last few times, it was just different. She did feel an ominous present lurking, but she couldn't put her finger on any one reason.

Lasherette spent most of the morning and day milling about the house. She went through her wardrobe. She definately needed some new attire. Lash had gone through so many changes, she wasn't certain anyone would understand her. Everyone knew the "old" Lasherette Beresford. No one knew the new Lash. Not even her staff. Looking around her cocoon as she looked at it as...she stood in the middle of her bedroom. Hands on hips, she decided that it too must change.

Walking to the heavy velvet drapes, she ran her fingers of their texture, loving the feel, but hating the look. She instantly just pulled them down. She walked around her entire suite doing so. The balcony drapes, the drapes around her bed, the coverings over each and every window. Walking over the velvet drapes, she loved the softness caressing the bottoms of her feet. Light poured in from every window. Looking around she laughed.

"Here I thought the place was spotless!" Looking now, she could see a faint coat of dust on everything, especially her prized books in her library. No matter, she would have the maid clean it in the daylight, so as to not miss anything. Lash wanted to let the light back in. She wanted to let the light back into her life as well. She had taken the time away to truly look deep inside. Casting off old labels others had stuck her with, doing some soul searching. How she would do anything for the loves of her life....yet.....the same type of love was never returned.

Many men took her submissiveness as a weakness. A true dominant would know that for a woman to be a true sub, they must be strong. Lash was both. And she would never allow a man to take her strength from her again. For they never returned the favor. They played by a different set of rules. Well....Lash from now on would play only by her own set of rules. If someone doesn't like it....oh well. They could move on.

Sitting down with pad and pen, she began to draw sketches of how she wanted to re-do her bed chamber. Lighter, sweeter, brighter....no more DARKNESS....no longer a place to hide in, but live and be happy in. With or without a man beside her. Aye....being home she laid to rest some ghosts, and took what she needed in order to be content within herself. She went back to her list with a grin, and writing frantically~~~~~

~~~~~While it was late Sat. Night, sitting alone in her home was driving her to near madness! Her servants were milling about, asking her if she needed anything, could they get her anything, etc. So rather than lose it, she had Warren get her coach ready and she took a trip into town.
When she first arrived at the Inn it was going loud and strong still. The antics of some never ceased to amaze her. She saw some familiar faces, more so not. Her poison of choice was bourbon which she had to retreive herself as the tender had left already for the evening. A woman-child in appearances made notice of her, so Lash invited her over to her booth to join her. She was lately bored even at the Inn, as no one spoke to her. But this waifish one, with big dark eyes joined her in her booth.
She had seen her many times, yet they had never met. Her name was Artsblood but Lasherette could call her Arts. She found that somewhat odd, but how many people thought the name Lash was odd in itself. Always being asked by men in a soft whisper if she carried her whip with her. If they only knew! Anyway...the conversation was somewhat relaxed. Although Arts was into things that Lash wasn't, yet they did come from similiar circumstances. Well, she finally made the woman's acquaintance, she also gave her a gift of sorts. Something she had in her refrigerator for awhile but was still good. Lash had even warmed it up before stowing it in her satchel, before leaving the castle. The waif looked like she could use it. And Lasherette no longer had the need for it.
The two parted smiling. Well...that's one new acquaintance. Things may be slow going at first...who knows. Perhaps people will relax more around her as time goes on. Perhaps not. But once more she found it odd that Icer wasn't in the Inn. She was ALWAYS there before. She hoped she was alright.~~~~~
